How do I hard or soft boil eggs with the EMERIL LAGASSE EML EK 41736?
Follow these steps to hard or soft boil eggs:
1. For the first use, take the appliance out of the gift box. Clean the boiling dish with a damp cloth and the accessories as outlined in the “Cleaning and Maintenance” section of the manual.
2. Put the EMERIL LAGASSE EML EK 41736 on a level, flat, and heat-resistant surface.
3. Determine the number of eggs that you want to cook. Use the measuring cup for filling the heating plate with cold water, adapting the quantity of water to your preferred cooking level (soft-, medium- or hard-boiled) and to the number of eggs being cooked; using the graduation on the measuring cup as an indicator.
IMPORTANT: The longer you cook the eggs (i.e. hard-boiling instead of soft-boiling), the more water you will need to use. The more eggs you cook at once, the less water you will need to use.
4. Place the first plastic shelf onto the boiling dish.
5. Pierce the larger, rounded end of the eggs with the egg piercer, which you will find underneath the measuring cup. Using the egg piercer prevents the eggs from cracking during boiling. Place the eggs onto the egg rack. WARNING: Please be very careful when using the egg piercer as the needle is very sharp.
6. Place the top cover on top of the appliance and plug the power plug into the wall socket. Switch the appliance on, using the on/off switch. The pilot light on the base will turn on, indicating that the appliance is now being heated.
7. In order to avoid any risk of scalding, keep your hands away from the steam vent in the top cover while the egg boiler is in use. Do not touch the top cover as it will also get hot.
8. When the eggs are ready, the pilot light will turn off. Switch the appliance back to the off position.
9. Unplug the appliance.
10. Remove the top cover using the knob or handle. Remove the egg shelf immediately to prevent overcooking, and either rinse the eggs with cold water or set them aside to allow them to cool down.
Note: Rinsing the boiled eggs in cold water immediately after cooking will prevent them from being over-cooked. It will also make it easier to peel the shells off the eggs.
11. If you will be using your appliance more than once, allow it to cool down between uses.
