Please follow these safety guidelines when using your ELECTROLUX XLND65835N tumble dryer:

Child and Vulnerable People Safety:

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced capabilities if they are supervised or instructed on its safe use. Children under 8 years of age and persons with extensive disabilities should be kept away unless continuously supervised.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.

• Keep all packaging and detergents away from children.

• Keep children and pets away from the appliance when the door is open.

• If the appliance has a child safety device, it should be activated.

• Children shall not carry out cleaning and user maintenance of the appliance without supervision.

General Safety:

• The appliance is for drying domestic-type, machine-dryable laundry only. Do not use it for industrial chemicals.

• Do not change the appliance’s specifications.

• If stacking on a washing machine, use the correct stacking kit and follow its instructions.

• Ensure air circulation between the appliance and the floor. The base ventilation opening must not be covered.

• The appliance contains flammable gas, propane (R290). Keep fire and ignition sources away. Be careful not to damage the refrigerant circuit.

• Do not touch the accessible condenser metal fins with bare hands. Wear protective gloves to avoid injury.

• If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified professional.

• Do not exceed the maximum load of 8.0 kg.

• Always clean the lint filter before or after each use. Do not run the appliance without the filter.

• Do not dry unwashed items. Items soiled with substances like cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, etc., should be washed in hot water with extra detergent before drying.

• Items like foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps, waterproof textiles, and rubber-backed articles should not be dried in the tumble dryer.

• Remove all objects from pockets that could be a source of fire, such as lighters or matches.

• WARNING: Never stop the dryer before the end of the cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out to dissipate heat.

• Before any maintenance, deactivate the appliance and disconnect it from the mains socket.

For ease of loading laundry or installation, the door is reversible.

The control panel features touch buttons. Press the touch buttons with your finger in the area with the symbol or name of the option. Do not wear gloves when you operate the control panel. Make sure that the control panel is always clean and dry.

Control Panel Buttons:

1. Programme knob and RESET switch: To select a drying programme or reset.

2. Extra Anticrease touch button: Extends the anti-crease phase.

3. Dryness Level touch button: Adjusts the final dryness of the laundry.

4. Display: Shows programme duration and other information.

5. Time Dry touch button: Sets a timed drying programme.

6. Start/Pause touch button: Starts or pauses the programme.

7. Delay Start touch button: Delays the start of the programme.

8. Reverse Plus touch button: Increases drum reversing to reduce tangling.

9. End Alert touch button: Activates or deactivates the end-of-cycle buzzer.

10. Refresh touch button: For refreshing clothes that were in storage.

11. On/Off button: Turns the appliance on or off.

You can adjust the dryness of your laundry using the Dryness Level option, which has three settings: Extra Dry, Cupboard Dry, and Iron Dry.

If you want to further increase the dryness, you can modify the default dryness setting. This adjustment works on most programmes except Eco, Wool, Duvet, Down Jacket, and Refresh.

To change the default degree of target final moisture:

1. Press the on/off button to activate the appliance.

2. Use the programme knob to set any programme.

3. Wait approximately 8 seconds.

4. Press and hold the Dryness Level (H) and Refresh (F) buttons at the same time. One of the dryness level indicators (maximum dryness, more dry laundry, or standard dry laundry) will come on.

5. Press and hold buttons (H) and (F) again until the indicator of the correct level comes on.

6. To accept the selected degree, wait 5 seconds, and the display will return to the normal mode.

You can set the programme duration from a minimum of 10 minutes to a maximum of 2 hours. The required duration depends on the amount of laundry.

Time Drying Recommendations:

• Up to 10 min: Action of cool air only (no heater).

• 10 – 40 min: Additional drying to improve dryness after a previous drying cycle.

• >40 min: Full drying of small laundry loads up to 4 kg, well spun (>1200 rpm).

The child lock function prevents children from playing with the appliance while a programme is running by locking the touch buttons. Only the on/off button remains unlocked.

To activate the child lock:

1. Press the on/off button to activate the appliance.

2. Press and hold the Reverse Plus (D) touch button for a few seconds. The child lock indicator (a key symbol) will appear on the display.

To deactivate the child lock:

Press and hold the same touch button (D) until the child lock indicator goes off. You can deactivate it while a programme is running. The Child Lock function is not available for 8 seconds after switching on the appliance.

This function allows you to restore the factory default settings, resetting any saved options and working modes.

1. Switch the appliance on by pressing the On/Off button.

2. Wait approximately 8 seconds.

3. Press and hold the End Alert (E) and Reverse Plus (D) buttons for some seconds.

4. The appliance will acknowledge the operation by displaying three dashes on the screen.

If the procedure does not work, switch the appliance off and repeat the sequence from the beginning.

The rear drum locks are removed automatically when the dryer is activated for the first time. You may hear some noise during this process.

To unlock the rear drum locks:

1. Switch on the appliance.

2. Set any programme.

3. Press the Start/Pause button. The drum will start to rotate, and the locks will be automatically deactivated.

Before you use the appliance to dry items for the first time:

• Clean the tumble dryer drum with a moist cloth.

• Start a 1-hour programme with moist laundry to remove any manufacturing residue.

1. Prepare the laundry and load it into the appliance. Make sure no laundry is caught between the door and the rubber seal.

2. Press the on/off button to activate the appliance.

3. Set the correct programme and options for the type of laundry. The display will show the programme duration.

4. Press the Start/Pause touch button. The programme will start.

To start a programme with a delay start:

1. Set the correct programme and options.

2. Press the delay start button repeatedly until the display shows the delay time you want (from 1 to 20 hours).

3. Press the Start/Pause touch button. The display will show the countdown. The programme will start when the countdown is completed.

When the programme is completed, an intermittent acoustic signal will sound, and the display will show 0:00. The appliance will continue with the anti-crease phase for approximately 30 minutes (or longer if Extra Anticrease was selected) to reduce creasing. For best results, remove the laundry when this phase is almost complete.

Once the anti-crease phase is completed:

1. Press the on/off button to deactivate the appliance.

2. Open the appliance door.

3. Remove the laundry.

4. Close the appliance door.

Always clean the filter and empty the water container after a programme is completed. Leave the door slightly open to avoid moisture buildup.

At the end of each cycle, the “clean filter” indicator comes on. You must clean the filter to maintain drying performance. A clogged filter increases the drying time and energy consumption.

1. Open the door. Pull the filter up.

2. Push the hook to open the filter.

3. Gather lint by hand from both internal parts of the filter and throw it in the dustbin.

4. If necessary, clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner. Close the filter.

5. If necessary, remove lint from the filter socket and gasket using a vacuum cleaner. Place the filter back inside the filter socket.

Empty the condensed water container after each drying cycle. If the container is full, the programme stops automatically, and the water container symbol appears on the display.

1. Pull the water container out, keeping it in a horizontal position.

2. Pull the plastic connection out and drain the water into a basin or similar receptacle.

3. Push the plastic connection back in and place the water container back into position.

4. To continue the programme, press the Start/Pause button.

If the “check Heat Exchanger” symbol flashes on the display, inspect the condenser and its compartment at least once every 6 months. Clean it if it is dirty.

WARNING: Do not touch the metal surface with bare hands. Wear protective gloves to avoid injury.

1. Open the door. Pull the filter up.

2. Open the condenser cover.

3. Turn the levers to unlock the condenser lid and lower it.

4. If necessary, remove the fluff from the condenser and its compartment. You can use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.

5. Close the condenser lid.

6. Turn the levers until they click into position.

7. Put the filter back.
