How do I install the DJI AS1 Speaker or AL1 SpotLight?

The speaker and spotlight can be installed on the supported aircraft separately or used in combination.

1. Make sure to power off the aircraft before installing or removing the accessories.

2. Align the accessory with the mounting point on the aircraft.

3. Tighten the screws to ensure secure installation. When installing on the aircraft for long-term use, use the included screwdriver to tighten the screws again after initial installation.


Do I need to calibrate the compass after installing the speaker for the first time?

Yes, when installing the speaker for the first time, the aircraft’s compass needs to be calibrated.

1. Enter the camera view in the DJI Pilot 2 app.

2. Tap the warning message > Calibrate Compass.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate.

Important: DO NOT touch the speaker during the calibration process.


When should I recalibrate the compass?

You should recalibrate the compass if the speaker is replaced or if a spotlight is attached to the aircraft when a speaker is already installed.

How do I activate the speaker or spotlight?

1. Power on the remote controller and the aircraft.

2. Launch the DJI Pilot 2 app. An activation prompt will appear when using the devices for the first time.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions to activate.

4. Ensure you update all devices to the latest firmware.

5. The accessories are successfully connected when the accessory models are displayed on the DJI Pilot 2 homepage.


How do I use the speaker or spotlight functions?

1. Power on the aircraft and launch the DJI Pilot 2 app.

2. Enter the camera view.

3. Tap the accessory icon (speaker icon or spotlight icon) to access and use its functions.


How do I set shortcut keys for the accessories?

In the DJI Pilot 2 app, tap … > (Settings icon, often represented by three dots or a gear) > Customize RC buttons to set shortcut keys for quick use of the accessory functions.

What audio formats and file sizes does the speaker support?

The speaker only supports AAC, MP3, and WAV audio files for broadcasting. Each audio file must be within 10 MB.

Are there any recommendations for using the spotlight?

• It is recommended to enable the Electronic Dehazing function when using the spotlight during high-altitude flights to achieve better image quality.

• It is recommended to appropriately reduce the brightness of the spotlight and use it only as needed, to minimize the impact on the aircraft’s flight time.


What warnings should I be aware of when using the speaker?

• DO NOT use the speaker at close range or in an urban area where noise-sensitive structures are concentrated, as the loudness could lead to accidents or injuries.

• It is not recommended to play single-frequency sounds such as alarms to avoid irreversible damage to the speaker.


What warnings should I be aware of when using the spotlight?

• DO NOT point the spotlight directly at people’s eyes.

• The spotlight may become hot after prolonged operation. Please be careful to avoid burns.

• The spotlight may be damaged or malfunction upon impact. DO NOT forcefully rotate the spotlight gimbal, and handle with care to avoid dropping.


Will installing the accessories affect the aircraft’s performance?

Yes, the performance of the aircraft’s propulsion or vision system will be affected after the accessories are installed. Fly with caution.

How should I store the accessories?

The aircraft can be directly stored in the carrying case with the speaker and spotlight installed. When the accessories are not in use, remove them from the aircraft and store them separately in the carrying case.

How do I update the firmware for the accessories?

1. Ensure that the accessories are connected to the aircraft, and all devices (aircraft, remote controller, accessories) are fully charged.

2. Launch the DJI Pilot 2 app.

• If the aircraft firmware is the latest version, tap the firmware update shortcut on the homepage to update the accessories for firmware consistency.

• If the aircraft firmware is not the latest version, tap the firmware update prompt on the home page > Update All to update all devices including the accessories.


How does installing the spotlight affect the aircraft’s Vision System?

After installing the spotlight, the aircraft’s obstacle sensing capabilities (specifically left/right sensing) are limited, and the bypass function will be unavailable. Furthermore, after turning on the spotlight, obstacle sensing will be disabled entirely. Fly with caution when the spotlight is installed or in use.
