The DENON DRA-F101 includes several advanced features for high-quality audio performance:

To ensure performance and stability for the DENON DRA-F101, follow these installation guidelines:

Allow for sufficient heat dispersion when installed on a rack.

Leave at least 10 cm of space above the unit so as not to obstruct ventilation holes.

For heat dispersal, leave at least 10 cm of space between the top, back, and sides of the unit and the wall or other components.

Do not place another component directly on top of the receiver.

For stability, do not stack more than three components on top of each other.

Proper antenna connection is vital for radio reception on the DENON DRA-F101:

FM Indoor Antenna: Connect the antenna to the FM COAX 75 ohm terminal. Set the antenna so that distortion and noise are minimal, then secure the tip using tape or a pin.

AM Loop Antenna: Assemble the loop antenna by removing the vinyl tie, bending the base in the reverse direction, and snapping the antenna onto the base. Connect the signal wires to the AM antenna terminals. Place the antenna on a stable surface or mount it on a wall, keeping it as far from the system as possible.

FM Outdoor Antenna: If reception is poor with the indoor antenna, use an outdoor antenna. Connect an IEC-type connector to a coaxial cable and connect it to the FM COAX terminal. Do not install the antenna under power lines or too high where it might be hit by lightning.

When connecting speakers to the DENON DRA-F101, observe the following:

Speaker Impedance: Use speaker systems with an impedance of 4 to 16 ohms. Using speakers outside this range may activate the protector circuit or cause damage.

Connection Procedure:

1. Peel off the coating from the tip of the speaker cord and twist the core wire.

2. Turn the speaker terminal counterclockwise to loosen it.

3. Completely insert the core wire into the terminal.

4. Turn the terminal clockwise to tighten it.

Polarity: Ensure you connect cords with the same polarities on both the speaker and the amplifier (plus to plus, minus to minus).

Caution: Never touch speaker terminals while the set is connected to a power supply to avoid electric shock.

To play a source through the DENON DRA-F101:

1. Turn on the power by pressing the System On/Standby button. The indicator will flash green for about 6 seconds and then remain lit.

2. Turn the Function dial on the main unit or press the Function button on the remote to select the desired source (CD, Tuner, DVD/AUX, TAPE, MD, or Phono).

3. Start playback on the selected component according to its specific instructions.

4. Adjust the overall volume using the Volume control dial on the main unit or the Volume buttons on the remote. The volume adjusts in 63 steps from Volume 0 (minimum) to Volume Max.

The DENON DRA-F101 allows you to customize audio output via the Tone button (main unit) or Mode button (remote):

Bass and Treble: Press Tone or Mode until “BASS” or “TREBLE” is displayed. Use the Function dial or Select buttons to increase or decrease the levels within a range of -8 to +8 in steps of 2. Response is flat at 0.

Loudness: Press Tone or Mode until “LOUDNESS” is displayed. Turn the dial or press Select buttons to set it to “ON” or “OFF”.

Balance: Press Tone or Mode until “BALANCE” is displayed. Turn the dial or press Select buttons to adjust the volume between left and right speakers. The range is Center or +1 to +10 for either side.

Note: These adjustments are unavailable when the Source Direct mode is set to “ON”.

The DENON DRA-F101 supports manual and auto tuning for up to 40 stations:

Auto Tuning: Press the Band button to select “FM AUTO”. Hold a Tuning Up or Down button for over 1 second. The frequency will change and stop automatically when a station is found. If reception is noisy, press Band to select “FM MONO”.

Manual Tuning: Press the Tuning Up or Down buttons repeatedly to change the frequency in steps (100 kHz for FM, 10 kHz for AM).

Presetting Stations:

1. Tune into the station you wish to store.

2. Press the Memory/Set button. The “P.SET” and “MEMO” indicators will flash.

3. Use the Tuning buttons or Remote number buttons to select a preset number (1 to 40).

4. Press Memory/Set again to store the station.

The DENON DRA-F101 features a 12-hour clock and various timer modes:

Setting the Clock:

1. Press the Timer button for at least 3 seconds until “TIME” flashes.

2. Press Memory/Set. The hours position will flash.

3. Use Tuning buttons to set the hour (including AM/PM) and press Memory/Set.

4. Use Tuning buttons to set the minutes and press Memory/Set to complete.

Timer Types:

Everyday Timer: Turns the power on and off at the same specified times every day.

Once Timer: Turns the power on and off at specified times only once.

Sleep Timer: Sets the power to turn off automatically after a set duration (10 to 60 minutes in 10-minute steps) using the Sleep button on the remote.
