The DELL P2719H flat panel display has an active matrix, Thin-Film Transistor (TFT), Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) and LED backlight. The monitor features include:

The side of the DELL P2719H has two USB downstream ports. To use these ports, you must connect the USB cable (shipped with your monitor) to the USB-upstream port on the monitor and to your computer.

If you have VESA’s DPM compliance display card or software installed on your computer, the DELL P2719H monitor can automatically reduce its power consumption when not in use. This is referred to as Power Save Mode. If the computer detects input from the keyboard, mouse, or other input devices, the monitor automatically resumes function. The following table shows the power consumption and signaling of this feature for the P2719H model.

CAUTION: Read and follow the Safety instructions before cleaning the monitor.

WARNING: Before cleaning the DELL P2719H, unplug the monitor power cable from the electrical outlet.

For best practices, follow the instructions in the list below when unpacking, cleaning, or handling your monitor:

• To clean your anti-static screen, lightly dampen a soft, clean cloth with water. If possible, use a special screen-cleaning tissue or solution suitable for the anti-static coating. Do not use benzene, thinner, ammonia, abrasive cleaners, or compressed air.
• Use a lightly-dampened, warm cloth to clean the monitor. Avoid using detergent of any kind as some detergents leave a milky film on the monitor.
• If you notice white powder when you unpack your monitor, wipe it off with a cloth.
• Handle your monitor with care as a darker-colored monitor may get scratched and show white scuff marks more than a lighter-colored monitor.
• To help maintain the best image quality on your monitor, use a dynamically changing screen saver and turn off your monitor when not in use.

To attach the stand that was shipped with your DELL P2719H monitor:

1. Follow the instructions on the flaps of the carton to remove the stand from the top cushion that secures it.

2. Insert the stand base blocks fully into the stand slot.

3. Lift the screw handle and turn the screw clockwise.

4. After fully tightening the screw, fold the screw handle flat within the recess.

5. Lift the cover to expose the VESA area for stand assembly.

6. Attach the stand assembly to the monitor:

a. Fit the two tabs on the upper part of the stand to the groove on the back of the monitor.

b. Press the stand down till it snaps into place.

7. Place the monitor upright. Lift the monitor carefully to prevent it from slipping or falling.

WARNING: Before you begin, follow the Safety instructions.

NOTE: Route the cables through the cable-management slot before connecting them. Do not connect all cables to the computer at the same time.

To connect your DELL P2719H monitor to the computer:

1. Turn Off your computer and disconnect the power cable.

2. Connect the VGA, DisplayPort, or HDMI cable from your monitor to the computer.

3. To use the USB ports on the monitor, connect the upstream USB 3.0 port on the monitor to an appropriate USB 3.0 port on your computer using the supplied cable.

4. Connect your USB peripherals to the downstream USB ports on the monitor.

5. Plug the power cables for your computer and monitor into a nearby outlet.

6. Turn On the monitor and the computer.

NOTE: To prevent scratches on the LCD screen when removing the stand, ensure that the monitor is placed on a soft, clean surface.

To remove the stand:

1. Place the monitor on a soft cloth or cushion.

2. Press and hold the stand release button.

3. Lift the stand up and away from the monitor.

To mount your DELL P2719H on a wall, refer to the instructions that come with your VESA-compatible wall mounting kit. The screw dimension required is M4 x 10 mm.

1. Place the monitor panel on a soft cloth or cushion on a stable flat table.

2. Remove the stand.

3. Use a Phillips crosshead screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the plastic cover.

4. Attach the mounting bracket from the wall mounting kit to the monitor.

5. Mount the monitor on the wall following the documentation that shipped with the wall mounting kit.

NOTE: For use only with a UL, CSA, or GS-listed wall mount bracket with a minimum weight or load bearing capacity of 17.40 kg (P2719H).

Use the control buttons on the front of the DELL P2719H monitor to adjust settings.

To access and navigate the OSD menu on your DELL P2719H:

1. Press the Menu button to launch the OSD menu and display the main menu.

2. Press the Up and Down buttons to move between the setting options. As you move from one icon to another, the option name is highlighted.

3. Press the OK button once to activate the highlighted option.

4. Press the Up and Down buttons to select the desired parameter.

5. Press the OK button to enter the submenu and then use the directional buttons, according to the indicators on the menu, to make your changes.

6. Select the Back button to return to the previous menu.

NOTE: If you change the settings and then either proceed to another menu or exit the OSD menu, the monitor automatically saves those changes. The changes are also saved if you change the settings and then wait for the OSD menu to disappear.

To set the maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080 for your DELL P2719H monitor:

In Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1:

1. For Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 only, select the Desktop tile to switch to classic desktop.

2. Right-click on the desktop and click Screen Resolution.

3. Click the dropdown list of the Screen Resolution and select 1920 x 1080.

4. Click OK.

In Windows 10:

1. Right-click on the desktop and click Display settings.

2. Click Advanced display settings.

3. Click the dropdown list of Resolution and select 1920 x 1080.

4. Click Apply.

If you do not see 1920 x 1080 as an option, you may need to update your graphics driver.

With the stand attached to your DELL P2719H monitor, you can adjust it for the most comfortable viewing angle.

• Tilt: The monitor can be tilted from -5° to 21°.
• Swivel: The monitor can be swiveled 45° to the left and 45° to the right.
• Vertical Extension (Height): The stand extends vertically up to 130 mm.

NOTE: The stand is not installed at the factory when shipped.

Before you rotate the DELL P2719H, your monitor should be fully vertically extended and fully tilted up to avoid hitting the bottom edge of the monitor.

You can rotate the monitor 90° clockwise or counterclockwise to switch between Landscape and Portrait views.

After rotating the monitor, you will need to adjust the Rotation Display Settings in your computer’s operating system.

NOTE: When in the Portrait View Mode, you may experience performance degradation in graphic-intensive applications (3D Gaming and etc.).

The self-test feature allows you to check whether your DELL P2719H monitor is functioning properly. If your monitor and computer are properly connected but the monitor screen remains dark, run the monitor self-test by performing the following steps:

1. Turn off both your computer and the monitor.

2. Unplug the video cable from the back of the computer.

3. Turn on the monitor.

A floating dialog box should appear on-screen (against a black background) if the monitor cannot sense a video signal and is working correctly. While in self-test mode, the power LED remains white. This box also appears during normal system operation if the video cable becomes disconnected or damaged.

4. Turn Off your monitor and reconnect the video cable; then turn On both your computer and the monitor.

If your monitor screen remains blank after you use the previous procedure, check your video controller and computer, because your monitor is functioning properly.

Your DELL P2719H has a built-in diagnostic tool that helps you determine if a screen abnormality is an inherent problem with your monitor, or with your computer and video card.

NOTE: You can run the built-in diagnostics only when the video cable is unplugged and the monitor is in self-test mode.

To run the built-in diagnostics:

1. Ensure that the screen is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).

2. Unplug the video cable(s) from the back of the computer or monitor. The monitor then goes into the self-test mode.

3. Press and hold Button 1 on the front panel for 5 seconds. A gray screen appears.

4. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.

5. Press Button 1 on the front panel again. The color of the screen changes to red.

6. Inspect the display for any abnormalities.

7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 to inspect the display in green, blue, black, white, and text screens.

The test is complete when the text screen appears. To exit, press Button 1 again. If you do not detect any screen abnormalities, the monitor is functioning properly. Check the video card and computer.

If your DELL P2719H is showing no picture and the power LED is off, try the following solutions:

• Ensure that the video cable connecting the monitor and the computer is properly connected and secure.
• Verify that the power outlet is functioning properly using any other electrical equipment.
• Ensure that the power button is pressed fully.
• Ensure that the correct input source is selected in the Input Source menu.

If your DELL P2719H shows no picture or brightness but the power LED is on, try these steps:

• Increase brightness & contrast controls via OSD.
• Perform the monitor self-test feature check.
• Check for bent or broken pins in the video cable connector.
• Run the built-in diagnostics.
• Ensure that the correct input source is selected in the Input Source menu.

If the picture on your DELL P2719H is out of focus, try these solutions:

• Perform Auto Adjust via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Adjust the Phase and Pixel Clock controls via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Eliminate video extension cables.
• Reset the monitor to factory settings.
• Change the video resolution to the correct aspect ratio.

If you see a wavy picture or fine movement on your DELL P2719H screen, follow these steps:

• Perform Auto Adjust via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Adjust the Phase and Pixel Clock controls via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Reset the monitor to factory settings.
• Check environmental factors.
• Relocate the monitor and test in another room.

If your LCD screen has spots (missing pixels) or bright spots (stuck-on pixels), try the following:

• Cycle the power On-Off.
• A pixel that is permanently off is a natural defect that can occur in LCD technology.

If the picture on your DELL P2719H is too dim or too bright, try these solutions:

• Reset the monitor to factory settings.
• Perform Auto Adjust via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Adjust brightness & contrast controls via OSD.

If the screen on your DELL P2719H is experiencing geometric distortion, try these steps:

• Reset the monitor to factory settings.
• Perform Auto Adjust via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Adjust horizontal & vertical controls via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• When using HDMI/DisplayPort input, the positioning adjustments are not available.

If your DELL P2719H screen has one or more lines, try the following troubleshooting steps:

• Reset the monitor to factory settings.
• Perform Auto Adjust via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Adjust the Phase and Pixel Clock controls via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Perform the monitor self-test feature check to determine if these lines are also in self-test mode.
• Check for bent or broken pins in the video cable connector.
• Run the built-in diagnostics.
• Note that when using HDMI/DisplayPort input, the Pixel Clock and Phase adjustments are not available.

If you are experiencing synchronization problems on your DELL P2719H, try these solutions:

• Reset the monitor to factory settings.
• Perform Auto Adjust via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Adjust the Phase and Pixel Clock controls via OSD (only available for VGA input).
• Perform the monitor self-test feature check to determine if the scrambled screen appears in self-test mode.
• Check for bent or broken pins in the video cable connector.
• Restart the computer in safe mode.

If your DELL P2719H monitor malfunctions on and off, follow these steps:

• Ensure that the video cable connecting the monitor to the computer is connected properly and is secure.
• Reset the monitor to factory settings.
• Perform the monitor self-test feature check to determine if the intermittent problem occurs in self-test mode.

If your DELL P2719H has missing color or the picture color is not good, try the following:

• Perform monitor self-test feature check.
• Ensure that the video cable connecting the monitor to the computer is connected properly and is secure.
• Check for bent or broken pins in the video cable connector.
• Change the settings of the Preset Modes in the Color menu OSD depending on the application.
• Adjust R/G/B value under Custom Color in the Color menu OSD.
• Run the built-in diagnostics.

If a faint shadow from a static image is left on your DELL P2719H monitor for a long period of time, this is known as image retention. To resolve this:

• Use the Power Management feature to turn off the monitor at all times when not in use.
• Alternatively, use a dynamically changing screensaver.

If the image is centered on the screen but does not fill the entire viewing area on your DELL P2719H, try these solutions:

• Check the Aspect Ratio setting in the Display menu OSD.
• Reset the monitor to factory settings.

If there is no picture and the LED light is white when you use the controls on your DELL P2719H, it indicates no input signal. Try the following:

• Check the signal source. Ensure the computer is not in power saving mode by moving the mouse or pressing any key on the keyboard.
• Check whether the signal cable is plugged in properly. Re-plug the signal cable if necessary.
• Reset the computer or video player.

If the picture cannot fill the height or width of the screen on your DELL P2719H, this may be due to the video format. Due to different video formats (aspect ratio) of DVDs, the monitor may display in full screen. You can also try running the built-in diagnostics.

If the USB peripherals connected to your DELL P2719H are not working, try these steps:

• Check that your monitor is turned On.
• Reconnect the upstream cable to your computer.
• Reconnect the USB peripherals (downstream connector).
• Switch Off and then turn On the monitor again.
• Reboot the computer.
• Some USB devices like external portable HDDs require higher electric current; connect the device directly to the computer system.

If your Super Speed USB 3.0 peripherals are working slowly or not at all on your DELL P2719H, perform the following checks:

• Check that your computer is USB 3.0-capable.
• Some computers have USB 3.0, USB 2.0, and USB 1.1 ports. Ensure that the correct USB port is used.
• Reconnect the upstream cable to your computer.
• Reconnect the USB peripherals (downstream connector).
• Reboot the computer.

If your wireless USB peripherals respond slowly or only work as the distance between itself and its receiver decreases, try these solutions:

• Increase the distance between the USB 3.0 peripherals and the wireless USB receiver.
• Position your wireless USB receiver as close as possible to the wireless USB peripherals.
• Use a USB-extender cable to position the wireless USB receiver as far away as possible from the USB 3.0 port.
