Once the physical connections are made, the DATAVIDEO NVD-30 will try to obtain an IP Address from a DHCP network server by default. You can use a free Windows based utility called the IP Finder to scan the local network for the current IP address of the DATAVIDEO NVD-30. If you are using an Apple computer, you can use an alternative utility app such as Fing or Network Analyzer Lite.

The default login username for the DATAVIDEO NVD-30 is admin and the default password is 000000 (six zeros).

To reset the DATAVIDEO NVD-30 to its factory default settings, including the password, press and hold the reset button for at least 5 seconds.

By default, the DATAVIDEO NVD-30 outputs audio over the digital HDMI connection and the analogue stereo connections. You can navigate to the Settings and then Audio Setup section to choose to output either digital or analogue audio only.

You can configure the DATAVIDEO NVD-30 display settings by navigating to Settings and then Display Setup. You can choose to output video digitally over HDMI or over the SD analogue composite connection.

When selecting HDMI, you can set resolutions from SD PAL/NTSC up to HD 1080P60/50. You can also switch the colour space between YUV (YCbCr) and RGB. When selecting analogue composite, you can choose between PAL and NTSC resolution with a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio.

To change the credentials for the DATAVIDEO NVD-30, follow these steps:

1. Log in to the DATAVIDEO NVD-30 server using a web browser.

2. Click on the Setting tab.

3. Click on Account Setup.

4. Click on admin and enter the new user name and password.

5. Click Save Changes. Please note that the old or default login is deleted during this process.

The DATAVIDEO NVD-30 supports the following stream types:

To listen for a pushed UDP stream, enter the following URL format into the Input Stream field of the DATAVIDEO NVD-30: udp://@:portnumber. Replace the portnumber with the actual port number of the pushed stream.

The STB mode on the DATAVIDEO NVD-30 is intended for use with a dedicated stream server. When enabled in the settings, the DATAVIDEO NVD-30 will connect to the server and download a list of available live and VOD channels. Once enabled, the Live stream setup options are disabled, and control is only available via the supplied IR remote.

You must first enable the internal telnet server in the Network Setup section of the DATAVIDEO NVD-30. Once enabled, you can connect to the DATAVIDEO NVD-30 IP address on port 23 using a Telnet client. Supported commands include Load [URL], On (sends CEC on), Off (sends CEC off), Reboot, and Status.
