Use only compact discs bearing the COMPACT DISC mark. Do not play heart-shaped, octagonal, or other specially shaped compact discs.

Handling: New discs may have some roughness around the edges. If such discs are used, the player may not work or the sound may skip. Use a ball-point pen or the like to remove any roughness from the edge of the disc. Never stick labels on the surface of the compact disc or mark the surface with a pencil or pen. Never play a compact disc with any cellophane tape or other glue on it or with peeling off marks. Do not use compact discs that have large scratches, are misshapen, cracked, etc.

Storage: Do not expose compact discs to direct sunlight or any heat source. Do not expose compact discs to excess humidity or dust.

Cleaning: To remove fingermarks and dust, use a soft cloth and wipe in a straight line from the center of the compact disc to the circumference. Do not use any solvents, such as commercially available cleaners, anti-static spray or thinner to clean compact discs.

To turn on the power, rotate the [VOL] knob clockwise until a click is heard. The illumination and display on the unit will light up. The unit automatically remembers its last operation mode.

To turn off the power, rotate the [VOL] knob counterclockwise until a click is heard.

The system check should be performed when wiring connections have been made and power is turned on for the first time, when external equipment is connected or removed, when the power supply is interrupted for a long period, or when the reset button is pressed.

1. Rotate the [VOL] knob clockwise until a click is heard. The system check is performed and the display shows: “SYTEM” -> “CHECK” -> “Push” -> “Func”.

2. When the [FUNC] button is pressed, the indication “CHECKING” is shown and the display shows any of the indications shown in the radio mode.

Press the [FUNC] button to change the mode of operation. Each time you press the [FUNC] button, the mode changes in the following order:

Radio mode -> CD mode -> CD changer mode -> MD changer mode -> AUX mode -> Radio mode…

Note: External equipment not connected with CeNET is not displayed.

Volume: Turn the [VOL] knob clockwise to increase volume; turn it counterclockwise to decrease volume.

Bass: Push the [BASS] knob so it comes out. Rotating the [BASS] knob clockwise enhances the bass; rotating it counterclockwise attenuates the bass. Push the knob back in to store.

Treble: After letting the knob come out (as done for Bass), pull it out further with your fingers. Rotating the [BASS] knob clockwise enhances the treble; rotating it counterclockwise attenuates the treble. Push the knob back in to store.

Balance: Pull out the [VOL] knob. Rotating it clockwise emphasizes the right speaker sound; rotating it counterclockwise emphasizes the left speaker sound. Push the knob to store in position.

Fader: Rotate the [FAD] knob (outer ring). Clockwise emphasizes the front speakers; counterclockwise emphasizes the rear speakers.

1. Press the [DISP] button to enter the clock display mode.

2. Press and hold the [DISP] button for 2 seconds or longer to enter the clock set mode.

3. Press the Left Arrow button to select the hour or the Right Arrow button to select the minute.

4. To set the hour, press the Left Arrow button. To set the minute, press the Right Arrow button.

5. Press the [DISP] button to store the time into memory.

1. Press the [BAND] button and select the desired radio band (FM or AM).

2. While pressing the [DISP] button, press and hold the number “6” of the [DIRECT] buttons for 2 seconds or longer. Each time this is done, the reception area switches from inside the USA to outside the USA or vice versa.

Note: Any station preset memories are lost when the reception area is changed.

Seek Tuning:

1. Press [BAND] to select FM or AM.

2. If “MANU” is lit in the display, press and hold [BAND] for 1 second or longer to turn it off.

3. Press the Left or Right arrow button to automatically seek a station.

Manual Tuning:

1. Press [BAND] to select FM or AM.

2. If “MANU” is not lit, press and hold [BAND] for 1 second or longer so “MANU” lights up.

3. Quick tuning: Press and hold the Left or Right arrow button for 1 second or longer.

4. Step tuning: Press the Left or Right arrow button to manually tune.

Manual Memory:

1. Select the desired station.

2. Press and hold one of the [DIRECT] buttons (1-6) for 2 seconds or longer to store the current station.

Auto Store:

1. Press [BAND] to select the desired band.

2. Press and hold the [SCN] button for 2 seconds or longer. Stations with good reception are stored automatically.

Recalling Presets:

1. Press [BAND] to select the desired band.

2. Press the corresponding [DIRECT] button to recall the stored station.

The FM diversity system automatically switches to the antenna that receives an FM broadcast with a stronger reception signal. If two antennas are connected, set it to ON; if one antenna is connected, set it to OFF.

1. Press the [BAND] button to receive an FM broadcast.

2. Press the [DIRECT] button 5 while holding the [BAND] button.

3. After showing “FM DIVER”, switch the system to show “ON” or “OFF” in the display.

Loading: Insert a CD into the insertion slot with the label side facing up. It plays automatically.

Pausing: Press the Play/Pause button [s]. Press again to resume.

Ejecting: Press the Eject button [Q].

Track Selection: Press the Right arrow for Track-up. Press the Left arrow for Track-down.

Fast-Forward/Backward: Press and hold the Right arrow (Fast-forward) or Left arrow (Fast-backward) for 1 second or longer.

Top Function: Press the [BAND] button to play the first track.

Scan Play: Press [SCN]. Plays the first 10 seconds of each track. Press again to cancel.

Repeat Play: Press [RPT]. Continuously plays the current track. Press again to cancel.

Random Play: Press [RDM]. Plays tracks in no particular order. Press again to cancel.

Press the [DIRECT] button 3 while holding the [DISP] button. Each time this is done, the display changes as follows:

DITHER1 (Dither off) -> DITHER2 (small amount of dither) -> DITHER3 (large amount of dither) -> DITHER1…

Selecting Mode: Press [FUNC] to select the CD(MD) changer mode.

Selecting a CD/MD: Press the corresponding [DIRECT] button (1 to 6). For discs 7-12 (12-disc changer), press and hold [DIRECT] buttons 1-6 corresponding to 7-12 for 1 second or longer.

Displaying Titles: Press [DISP] to display the title. Press and hold [DISP] for 2 seconds to toggle between disc title, artist name, and track title (options depend on format).

Switching Disc/Track Titles (MD): Press [DISP] to display title. Press and hold [DISP] to toggle between disc title and track title.

Selecting AUX: Press the [FUNC] button to select the AUX mode.

Switching Input Sensitivity: You can switch the RCA input sensitivity to HIGH or LOW. Press the [DIRECT] button 6 while holding the [BAND] button. The display toggles between “AUX SENS” -> “HIGH” and “AUX SENS” -> “LOW”.
