Please follow these safety precautions when using your BUTTERFLY HERO PLUS mixer grinder:

• Read all instructions carefully and be thoroughly familiar with your mixer grinder before use.

• Do not place the mixer grinder near a hot gas burner or on a hot electric plate.

• Do not let or remove the jar while the motor is ON.

• Fix the blade on the jar shaft before loading ingredients properly.

• Do not use your mixer grinder with the damaged wire cord.

• Do not allow cord to come into contact with any hot object.

• Keep the machine out of reach of children.

• To protect against electrical hazards, do not immerse base, plug or cord in water or any other liquid.

• The blades are sharp. Handle with care. Keep them out of reach from children.

• Unplug from power outlet when not in use and before fitting and removing accessories.

• Close supervision is necessary when your mixer grinder is used in the presence of children.

JAR FIXING:

Every stainless steel jar is provided with a separate lid and gasket. Ensure that the lid is mounted over the jar. Also ensure that the gasket is in its place before closing the lid.

HOW TO FIT THE JAR:

Place the jar in the mounting cover of the motor unit. Turn the jar slowly in the clockwise direction to lock the jar in its place.

HOW TO REMOVE THE JAR:

Wait until the blades come to a standstill. Then lift the jar in the anticlockwise direction from the motor unit. Always remember to switch off the main before cleaning the jar.

REMEMBER:

Clean the jar as explained in the manual under “Cleaning after use”.

Before using your BUTTERFLY HERO PLUS for the first time, please note the following:

1. Rotate the motor shaft through the motor coupler by hand to ensure that it rotates smoothly.

2. Fit the jar on the mixer grinder base and rotate the jar coupler by hand to check for free movement.

The jar shaft rotates freely through two bushes fitted in the jar base. The oil that lubricates the bush may ooze out due to heat and create a brownish colour when you operate the mixer grinder for the first time. This is normal and you can wipe it out with a piece of cloth. This will not happen in subsequent operations.

Your mixer grinder is protected against sudden overloads. If an overload occurs, the mixer grinder will automatically trip, and the motor will stop. To restart the motor, reduce the load in the jar, wait for 2-3 minutes, and then press the red knob of the overload relay switch located at the bottom of the mixer grinder.

1. Read instructions for use.

2. Supply cord marking – marking of the terminals to identify the function of each terminal if the cord is prepared for wiring.

3. Usage instruction:

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

4. Operating Time & Speed settings.

5. Service Instruction: If the supply wire cord is damaged, it must be replaced by an authorised person to avoid a hazard.

6. Switch on the mixer for 5 minutes of continuous operation or a number of short period operations, there shall be a rest period of 2 minutes before going for the next cycle in all cases.

The BUTTERFLY HERO PLUS is designed for a continuous operation of 5 minutes. After 5 minutes of operation, switch off the motor for 2 minutes before going for the next cycle in all cases.

The speed control knob is used to regulate the speed. The three speed settings are:

• Speed 1: Low speed

• Speed 2: Medium speed

• Speed 3: High speed

There is also an Incher/Whip function for momentary operation. Operate at speed 1 for liquidizing and for grinding soaked rice and dal. Operate at speed 3 for dry grinding.

1. For cleaning the jar, pour a small quantity of warm water into the jar, add a little soap, place the jar on the Mixer grinder and switch on. By this, any particles sticking to the wall of the jar will be removed.

2. Then remove the jar and wash the inner portion of the jar in running water. After washing, dry the jar, its blade and lid. Always store the jar in a dry wall. This will avoid foul odour in the jar.

3. Do not place the jar in a dishwasher for cleaning. Clean the Mixer grinder body and wire cord with damp cloth. Do not immerse in water.

4. Use of abrasive powders and scouring pads will create swirl marks and scratches on the body of the Mixer grinder base.

PC JUICER JAR:

Liquidizing for fruit juices, extracting tamarind juice for rasam, lassi, butter milk, milk shakes, and dal paste etc. Normal Load: Max – 1lt.

WET GRINDER:

Wet grinding of coconut chutney, dal paste for vada, bonds. Normal Load: 200gms soaked with water.

MEDIUM JAR:

USES – Dry grinding of dry spices, raw rice, pepper, red chillies, coriander, dhal, dharia ingredients, etc. Also used for grinding idli, dosai batter. Normal Load: Max. – 200gms.

SMALL CHUTNEY JAR:

The small stainless steel jar is ideally used for grinding small quantities of chutney made of ginger, garlic, coconut, green chillies, etc. Normal Load: Max. 100gms.

DO’S

• Place your mixer grinder at a convenient height, so you can operate it easily.

• Keep your mixer grinder away from heat and direct sunlight.

• Clean your mixer grinder and jars before and after use.

• Check that the voltage is the same as that shown on the rating plate of your mixer grinder.

• Before putting the jar on the motor, check that the blades in the jar can be rotated by hand. If the blades are not rotating freely, check and rectify the same.

• Ensure that the lid gasket is in place before starting the motor.

• This Butterfly Mixer Grinder is designed for continuous operation of 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, switch off the motor for 2 minutes before going for the next cycle.

DON’TS

• Do not operate your mixer grinder without load.

• Do not touch the blades with your hands, use a spatula.

• Do not allow children to operate the mixer grinder.

• Do not place the plastic container on the gas stove.

• Never place a thin plastic sheet or cloth under the base, as it may block the ventilation at the base.

• Do not grind sugar in the mixer grinder. For this, use another suitable grinder.

• Do not attempt to repair the mixer grinder at home. Take it to the authorised Dealer or other than Butterfly.
