Follow these steps to unpack your BLACK DIAMOND BD3325 pressure washer:

1. Place the shipping carton on a solid, flat surface.

2. Carefully cut the top of the carton open.

3. Carefully cut each corner of the carton from top to bottom.

4. Lay each side of the carton flat on the ground.

5. Remove everything from the carton.

Your BLACK DIAMOND BD3325 pressure washer may have one of two handle types. Follow the instructions for your specific model:

For a knob-style handle: Slide the handle onto the frame then secure it with the included knobs and bolts.

For a button-style handle: Press and hold the buttons then slide the handle onto the frame until the buttons click into place.

Assemble the Spray Gun:

1. Thread the lance into the spray gun.

Organize Accessories:

1. Place the spray gun and lance assembly into the holder on the dashboard.

2. Push the nozzles into the rubber grommets on the dashboard. The dashboard label indicates correct nozzle placement.

3. Hang the high-pressure hose on the holder.

Before connecting, ensure your water supply can provide clean, cold water at a minimum rate of 5 gallons per minute (GPM) and 20 pounds per square inch (PSI) of pressure. Then, follow these steps:

1. Verify the inlet screen is clean, free of debris, and in place with the convex side facing out.

2. Turn on the water supply and run it for 30 seconds to purge any debris from the supply hose. Then, turn off the water supply and thread the water supply hose into the pump inlet.

3. Thread the high-pressure hose onto the pump outlet.

4. Thread the high-pressure hose onto the spray gun.

Running the pressure washer pump without water will severely damage the pump seals and internal components. To avoid this, you must purge the air from the pump before starting the engine. Follow these instructions:

1. Connect all the hoses as instructed and turn on the cold water source.

2. Aim the spray gun in a safe direction, then squeeze and hold the trigger for at least 30 seconds or until the water runs steady and all the air is purged from the pump and hoses.

3. Check hoses and connections for leaks. If leaks are found, turn off the machine, aim the spray gun in a safe direction and squeeze the trigger to relieve any built-up pressure in the system. Never attempt to touch or repair a leak in a high-pressure hose or fitting.

Using the correct nozzle is important to clean effectively without damaging surfaces. Refer to this table to select the correct nozzle for your task with the BLACK DIAMOND BD3325.

Nozzle Installation:

To place a nozzle into the spray wand of your BLACK DIAMOND BD3325, pull the quick-connect coupler back, insert the nozzle, then release the coupler, allowing it to snap back in place. Once installed, pull on the nozzle to make sure it is secure.

Only use approved soaps and chemicals with your BLACK DIAMOND BD3325. Never use volatile, flammable, corrosive liquids, or bleach. Follow these steps:

1. Attach the open end of the soap hose to the barbed fitting on the pump.

2. Place the filtered end of the soap hose into a container of soap.

3. Insert the black soap nozzle into the spray wand. Soaps will not siphon if the black soap nozzle is not installed.

4. After using soap, place the filtered end of the soap hose into a container of clean water and run the pressure washer, drawing clean water through the hose and pump until the system is thoroughly rinsed. Pump damage from soap or chemical residue is not covered under warranty.

• Place the pressure washer on a level surface outside in a well-ventilated area.

• Keep all flammable materials at least five feet away from all sides of the product.

• Never use the pressure washer inside a house, garage, or any other kind of enclosure, even if doors and windows are open.

• Run the engine outside at least 20 feet (6 meters) away from windows, doors, and vents.

• Carefully consider wind direction and air currents when using the pressure washer outside to avoid breathing in engine exhaust.

• Following the manufacturer’s instructions, install battery-operated carbon monoxide alarms in any occupied buildings near the running engine.

The engine of your BLACK DIAMOND BD3325 will operate correctly at or below an altitude of 5000 feet (1524 meters). For operation above this altitude, the engine requires a high-altitude carburetor kit to ensure proper performance and emission control. Operating the machine with the wrong engine configuration above 5000 feet may increase emissions, decrease fuel efficiency, and hurt performance. Contact an authorized service center to obtain the correct kit.

To avoid engine damage, always check the oil level before starting. The engine is shipped from the factory without oil. Follow these steps:

1. Ensure the pressure washer is on a level surface and the engine is off.

2. Unscrew the engine oil dipstick and pull it out, then wipe the dipstick clean.

3. Place the clean dipstick into the filler neck but do not thread it in; let it rest on the filler neck.

4. Remove the dipstick from the filler neck and check the oil level. The oil level should be at the upper oil limit on the dipstick.

5. If the level is low, add the recommended oil to the crankcase until the level reaches the upper limit on the dipstick. Refer to the engine manual for the recommended oil type.

6. Install the dipstick and tighten the cap by threading it into the filler neck.

Follow these steps and guidelines to safely fuel your BLACK DIAMOND BD3325:

1. Check fuel with the engine off and the pressure washer on a level surface.

2. Remove the fuel tank cap, check the fuel level, and fill if needed.

3. Do not use gasoline that is older than 30 days. Use only clean, fresh, regular unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87.

4. Do not mix oil with gasoline. Do not use gasoline that contains more than 10% ethyl alcohol (E10). Fuels like E15, E20, and E85 are not approved and should not be used.

5. Do not fill the fuel tank above the maximum fuel level marker to allow room for fuel expansion.

6. Replace the fuel tank cap. Never run the engine without the fuel cap installed.

NOTE: Using a fuel stabilizer (sold separately) can help prevent problems related to storing ethanol-blended gasoline. Always follow the stabilizer manufacturer’s instructions.

Before starting, ensure you have completed all steps in the OPERATING CHECKLIST, CONNECTING HOSES, and PRIMING THE PUMP sections. Then, follow these steps:

1. Turn the engine ignition switch to the ON position.

2. Adjust the choke as needed. For a cold engine, move the choke lever towards the CLOSED position. For a warm engine, move it towards the OPEN position.

3. Pull the recoil starter cord slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly to start the engine.

4. Adjust the choke as needed. Once the engine starts, slowly move the choke lever to the OPEN position as the engine warms up.

To avoid pump damage, always turn off the engine before shutting off the water supply. Follow this procedure:

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

2. Turn off the water supply.

3. Squeeze the spray gun trigger to relieve the pressure in the hose and pump.

4. Allow the engine to cool completely before handling and storing.

Preparation:

• Avoid driving water up behind siding.

• Use overlapping strokes for even cleaning.

• Work in smaller areas and do not let soap dry on surfaces.

If a nozzle becomes clogged, the pump may pulsate. To clean it, follow these steps:

1. Shut off the pressure washer.

2. Turn off the water supply.

3. Point the spray gun in a safe direction and squeeze the trigger to relieve water pressure.

4. Remove the nozzle from the lance.

5. Clear any obstructions from the nozzle by inserting the cleaning tool.

6. Rinse any loose debris from the nozzle by directing a running garden hose into the output of the nozzle for at least 30 seconds.

Check and clean the inlet filter before each use. Never operate the pressure washer without the inlet filter properly installed.

3. Start the engine and run it for ten (10) minutes to allow the stabilized fuel to circulate. Be sure to squeeze the trigger to keep water flowing through the pump to avoid overheating.

4. Turn the engine switch to the OFF position.

5. Squeeze the spray gun trigger to relieve pressure, then drain the high-pressure hose.

6. Allow the engine to cool completely.

7. Using a pump guard product is recommended when storing the unit for more than 30 days and/or when freezing temperatures are expected.

8. Store the pressure washer in a clean, dry area out of direct sunlight.

For long-term storage, follow this procedure:

1. Make sure the engine is completely cool.

5. Pour 0.5 ounces (15 ml) of new oil into the engine combustion chamber, then slowly crank the engine by pulling the recoil two (2) times to distribute the oil and lubricate the cylinder.

6. Install the spark plug.

7. Drain the high-pressure hose.

8. Using a pump guard product is recommended when storing the unit for more than 30 days and/or when freezing temperatures are expected.

9. Store the pressure washer in a clean, dry area out of direct sunlight.

To avoid leaking or vaporizing fuel, which can cause fire or explosions, follow these steps for transportation:

1. Turn the engine control switch to the OFF position.

2. To prevent fuel spillage, keep the pressure washer upright on a level surface during transport.

3. Secure the pressure washer with straps or tie-downs to prevent it from tipping over or sliding.
