The following symbols are used in the user manual to convey important information:

i (in a circle): Important information or useful hints about usage.

! (in a triangle): Warning for hazardous situations with regard to life and property.

Circle with a diagonal line: Warning to actions that must never be performed.

Lightning bolt in a triangle: Warning for electric shock.

Open book with an ‘i’: This symbol shows that information is available such as the operating manual or installation manual.

Box with an ‘X’ over it: Do not cover it.

Open book icon: This symbol shows that the operation manual should be read carefully.

Book with a wrench icon: This symbol shows that a service personnel should be handling this equipment with reference to the installation manual.

Flame in a triangle (For R32/R290 gas type): This symbol shows that this appliance used a flammable refrigerant. If the refrigerant is leaked and exposed to an external ignition source, there is a risk of fire.

The BEKO BAVOT 181 NG consists of an Indoor Unit and an Outdoor Unit.

Indoor Unit Parts:

The indoor display has several indicators to show the unit’s status:

Note: The shape and position of switches and indicators may be different according to the model, but their function is the same.

1. Remove the battery cover plate from the rear of the remote control by sliding it in the direction of the arrow.

2. Install 2 pieces of LR03 AAA (1.5V) batteries according to the direction (+ and -) shown on the Remote Control. Do not use rechargeable batteries.

3. Replace the old batteries with new ones of the same type when the display is no longer legible.

4. Reinstall the battery cover by sliding it into place.

Note: Please remove batteries to avoid leakage damage when not using for a long time.

You can select different operating modes using the MODE button on your remote control.

COOLING MODE:

1. Press the MODE button until the [COOL] symbol appears on the display.

2. Use the up or down arrow buttons to set a temperature lower than that of the room.

This function allows the air conditioner to cool the room and reduce air humidity.

FAN MODE:

1. Press the MODE button until the [FAN] symbol appears on the display.

This mode provides air ventilation only.

DRY MODE:

1. Press the MODE button until the [DRY] symbol appears on the display.

This function reduces the humidity of the air to make the room more comfortable. An automatic function of pre-setting is activated.

AUTO MODE:

1. Press the MODE button until the [AUTO] symbol appears on the display.

In AUTO mode, the run mode will be set automatically according to the room temperature.

HEATING MODE:

1. Press the MODE button until the [HEAT] symbol appears on the display.

2. Use the up or down arrow buttons to set a temperature higher than that of the room.

This function allows the air conditioner to heat the room.

TURBO function:

Press the TURBO button to activate. A turbo fan symbol will appear on the display. This enables the unit to reach the preset temperature in the shortest time by operating at the highest fan speed. Press again to cancel.

TIMER function:

1. Press the OPTION button and select Timer by pressing the up/down arrow until the [TIMER] symbol flashes.

2. Press OPTION again; the time data (e.g., 5.5h) and TIMER will flash.

3. Press the up/down arrow to set the desired time (in half-hour intervals).

4. Press OPTION or wait 5 seconds to confirm. The [TIMER] symbol will remain on the display.

To cancel, repeat steps 1 and 2, then press OPTION or wait 5 seconds.

SLEEP function:

1. Press the OPTION button and select Sleep by pressing the up/down arrow until the [SLEEP] symbol flashes.

2. Press OPTION again to activate. The [SLEEP] symbol will appear on the display.

Do it again to deactivate this function. After 10 hours in sleep mode, the air conditioner will change to the previous setting mode.

SWING function:

• Press the horizontal swing button to activate the up/down movement of the “FLAP”.

• Press the vertical swing button to activate the left/right movement of the “deflectors”.

I FEEL function:

This function enables the remote control to measure the temperature at its current location and send a signal to the air conditioner to optimize the temperature around you. Activate it through the OPTION button until [I FEEL] appears. It deactivates automatically after 2 hours.

ECO function (Optional):

Press the ECO button. The [ECO] symbol appears, and the appliance will automatically set the operation to save energy. This is available in COOLING and HEATING modes. Press again to cancel.

To ensure proper operation and prevent the protection device from activating, use the air conditioner within the following temperature ranges:

For Inverter air conditioner models like the BEKO BAVOT 181 NG:

During heating, when the outdoor unit gets frosted, the BEKO BAVOT 181 NG will enable the automatic defrosting function to improve the heating effect. During this process, which typically lasts 2-10 minutes, the indoor and outdoor fans stop running. The air conditioner will resume heating automatically after defrosting is finished.

If your remote controller fails, you can use the emergency button located on the electronic control box inside the indoor unit. Open the front panel to access it. Always press the emergency button with an insulating material.

Before cleaning, always shut down the machine and cut off the power supply for more than 5 minutes.

Cleaning the Unit:

• Never flush the air conditioner with water.

• Use a soft dry cloth or a wet cloth dipped with neutral detergent to clean the air conditioner. Do not use volatile liquids like thinner or gasoline.

• Wipe the unit surface gently.

Cleaning the Air Filter:

1. Grasp the raised handle on the filter and pull it out in the direction deviating from the unit. The filter can be removed by lifting it upwards.

2. Clean the filter with soapy water and air dry it. The water temperature should be below 40°C (104°F).

3. When reinstalling the filter, first insert the lower end of the filter screen into the corresponding position of the unit, and then squeeze the upper end of the filter into the corresponding buckling position of the unit body.

Pay attention to cleaning the filter screen regularly to avoid dust covering, which will affect performance. After removing the filter screen, do not touch the fins of the indoor unit to avoid scratching.

If the air conditioner will not be in use for a long time, take the following steps:

• Take out the batteries of the remote controller.

• Disconnect the power supply of the air conditioner.

When starting to use it again after a long-term shutdown:

1. Clean the unit and the filter screen.

2. Check whether there are obstacles at the air inlet and outlet of the indoor and outdoor units.

3. Check whether the drain pipe is unobstructed.

4. Install the batteries in the remote controller and check whether the power is on.

Switch off the air conditioner immediately and cut off the power supply in the event of:

• Strange noises during operation.

• Faulty electronic control board.

• Faulty fuses or switches.

• Spraying water or objects inside the appliance.

• Overheated cables or plugs.

• Very strong smells coming from the appliance.

In case of an error, the display on the indoor unit will show the following error codes:

This appliance contains refrigerant and other potentially hazardous materials. It requires special collection and treatment and should not be disposed of as household waste. You have the following options for disposal:

• Dispose of the appliance at a designated municipal electronic waste collection facility.

• When buying a new appliance, the retailer will take back the old appliance free of charge.

• The manufacturer will take back the old appliance free of charge.

• Sell the appliance to certified scrap metal dealers.

This product should not be disposed of with other household wastes at the end of its service life. The used device must be returned to an official collection point for recycling of electrical and electronic devices.
