The BABYLISS ST573E features an advanced moisture balancing dual ionic system that delivers a continuous flow of conditioning ions. This system helps to hydrate your hair and eliminate frizz, leaving your hair looking sleek, shiny, and frizz-free. Please note that the dual ionic port emits a buzzing sound, which is normal for a high output ion generator. This is completely normal.

The BABYLISS ST573E has a Switch Activation Control feature to prevent accidental adjustment of the heat settings during use. This also ensures the button cannot be switched on when stored.

• To turn the appliance on, press and hold the ‘I’ button for 1-2 seconds. This will unlock the buttons and the heat will start to function.

• To adjust the heat settings, press the ‘I’ button again; this will enable you to cycle through the heat settings.

• To lock the heat setting, press and hold the ‘I’ button for 1-2 seconds until the padlock symbol illuminates. This will lock the buttons into place.

• To unlock the heat settings, press and hold the ‘I’ button again for 1-2 seconds until the padlock symbol is no longer illuminated.

• To switch the appliance off, press and hold the ‘I’ button for 1-2 seconds after the heat setting has been unlocked.

Yes, the BABYLISS ST573E has an automatic shut-off feature for added safety. If the appliance is switched on for more than 60 minutes continuously, it will automatically switch off.

The BABYLISS ST573E comes with a heat wrap for use during and after styling. During use, do not place the appliance on any heat-sensitive surface, even when using the heat wrap provided. After use, switch off and unplug the appliance. Immediately wrap the appliance in the heat wrap provided and allow it to fully cool down. Continue to keep it out of the reach of children as it will remain hot for several minutes.

Follow these steps to straighten your hair with the BABYLISS ST573E:

1. Ensure your hair is dry and combed through to remove any tangles.

2. Divide the hair into sections ready for styling.

3. Press and hold the ‘I’ button for 1-2 seconds to turn the appliance on. The indicator light will begin to flash.

4. To select a heat setting suitable for your hair type, press the ‘I’ button again to cycle through the available heat settings. The indicator light will flash until the selected temperature has been reached, at which point it will remain solid.

5. Place a section of hair between the straightening plates, close to the roots.

6. Hold the hair firmly between the plates and slide down the length of the hair from root to tip, in one smooth motion.

7. Repeat for each section of hair.

8. Allow the hair to cool before combing through.

9. After use, press and hold the ‘I’ button for 1-2 seconds to switch off and unplug the appliance.

10. Allow the appliance to cool before storing away.

Follow these steps to create curls and waves with your BABYLISS ST573E:

1. To create soft curls and waves, section the hair until it is ready for styling.

2. Take a section of hair and place the appliance about halfway down the hair section.

3. Hold the appliance and rotate it 180° back on itself, so the hair is wrapped once around the outside of the appliance.

4. Slowly glide the appliance down towards the tips of the hair.

5. Release the appliance from the hair.

6. To create a curlier shape, use a smaller section of hair. The speed at which you pull the styler through the section will also determine how defined the curl is. For a looser curl, pull the styler through the hair more quickly. For a tighter curl, pull the styler through the hair more slowly.

7. To ‘set’ the curl, after you have pulled the styler through to the end of the hair, re-roll the section up towards the root in the shape of the curl. Pin the hair section in place and allow it to cool, then unpin the hair.

8. Repeat this action for the rest of the hair.

The BABYLISS ST573E offers multiple heat settings. If you have fine, delicate, or colored hair, use the lower heat settings. For thicker hair, use the higher heat settings. It is suggested to always complete a test on initial use to ensure the correct temperature is used for your hair type. Start on the lowest setting and increase the temperature until the desired result is achieved.

• Switch off, unplug and allow to cool completely.
