To charge the battery for your BABYLISS PRO FX895E, plug the charging stand into an electrical outlet. Place a battery into either pocket on the charging stand. The battery has electrical contacts that touch the contacts in the stand. The weight of the battery is sufficient to provide contact. It is normal for the battery and charging stand to feel warm to the touch when charging.

Charging Steps:

1. Before using the BABYLISS PRO FX895E clipper for the first time, charge the battery continuously for 3 hours. Maximum battery capacity will only be reached after 3 charging and discharging cycles.

2. Plug the charging stand into any electrical outlet. The charging indicator will light up blue and flash to indicate charging has begun. Charging is complete after 3 hours, and the light will go from flashing blue to solid blue.

3. The charging stand may become warm while charging. This is normal.

4. To maintain the optimum capacity of the rechargeable batteries, they should be recharged for 3 hours approximately every 6 months.

5. If the charging light starts to flash red rapidly (more than 4 flashes per second), the appliance is faulty. If this happens, stop charging by removing the plug from the outlet and contact an authorized Service Center.

6. Refer to the “Battery Removal and Installation” section for instructions on installing or removing the battery from the clipper.

7. If the appliance is to be stored unused for a long period, the batteries should be removed.

The LED charging indicators on the BABYLISS PRO FX895E charging stand have the following meanings:

Charging: Blue flashing light (1 flash/4 seconds)

Fully charged: Blue light

Error: Red flashing light (more than 4 flashes/second)

To operate the BABYLISS PRO FX895E clipper, simply slide the switch to the ON position (marked “I”). To stop the operation, set the switch to the OFF position (marked “0”).

Proper maintenance of the blades on your BABYLISS PRO FX895E is crucial for performance. Blades must be cleaned and oiled on a regular basis. Failure to do so will void the warranty.

Always apply oil to the blades before and after each use. This ensures maximum cutting performance and proper maintenance. Hold the clipper away from your body in a downward position and apply a drop of BaBylissPRO lubricating oil on the front and sides of the cutter blade. Wipe off any excess oil with a soft, dry cloth.

To use the comb attachments with your BABYLISS PRO FX895E, first, turn the clipper to the “0” (OFF) position. Slide the comb attachment onto the top of the clipper blades, then pull down and over the back of the blade. To remove it, pull up on the back of the comb attachment and then pull away from the blade.

Follow these steps to replace the blade set on your BABYLISS PRO FX895E:

Step 1. Unplug the unit and adjust the taper lever.

Step 2. Remove the screws and the fixed blade. Save the screws.

Step 3. Lift off the small moving blade and place the new blade on the plastic oscillator.

Step 4. Replace the fixed blade using the screws and lightly tighten them. Adjust the teeth to a gap of 1 mm to 1.5 mm, with the small moving blade as centered and as parallel as possible to the fixed blade’s teeth.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The top edge of the fixed blade must be a minimum of 1 mm higher than the top edge of the moving blade and as centered as possible. This is important so that the moving blade does not come in contact with the skin. Be sure to add a few drops of BaBylissPRO lubricating oil to the blades before running. Don’t forget to tighten the screws after the blades have been aligned.

The taper lever on your BABYLISS PRO FX895E is positioned at your thumb, allowing you to hold the clipper and adjust the lever simultaneously while clipping. It adjusts the closeness of the cut from a close cut (lever in the up position) to a longer length cut (lever in the down position).

To increase cutting length, slowly push the lever down.

To cut closer, push the lever up.

Using the taper lever extends the life of the clipper blades because different cutting edges are used in each setting.

If too much hair slows down the BABYLISS PRO FX895E clipper, keep the clipper on to remove the hair. Then, push the taper lever back and forth quickly several times. Doing this every time, especially after frequent hair cutting, will keep the clipper blades free of cut hair. Remember to oil the blades after this procedure.

The BABYLISS PRO FX895E clipper has a removable, magnetic hair pocket door for easy cleaning of critical moving parts.

1. To remove the magnetic door, place your fingers on the side tabs and pull straight away from the unit.

2. To clean the internal moving parts, use the included small cleaning brush to clear out hair from the housing.

3. Once finished, carefully place the magnetic door back in its proper position. The magnets will pull the door back into place.

The BABYLISS PRO FX895E clipper features removable and rechargeable batteries. Before removing or installing a battery, make sure the clipper switch is in the OFF “0” position.

To remove the battery: Press on the two tabs toward the bottom of the unit and pull the battery out of the bottom. Then place it into the charging stand.

To install a new battery: Line up the tabs of the charged battery with the slots on the sides of the unit and slide it up into the housing, pressing firmly until the battery clicks into place.

WARNING: Make sure the battery tabs and slots on the sides of the unit are lined up before pushing the battery all the way in. Do not force the battery if any resistance is felt.

The battery indicators on the BABYLISS PRO FX895E clipper signal the following:

Critically low battery: Red flashing light

Low Battery: Blue flashing light

Unit on and battery fully charged: Blue light

Error: Red flashing light (more than 4 flashes/second)

Rechargeable Batteries Care:

1. This BABYLISS PRO FX895E clipper requires one lithium-ion battery.

2. Since batteries are sensitive to high temperatures, store them in a cool, dry place.

3. Never put batteries into a fire.

4. Unplug and switch off devices after use.

5. Keep batteries away from children, especially those small enough to ingest.

6. If a battery is ingested, seek immediate medical help.

7. Never open, crush, puncture, or disassemble batteries.

8. Dispose of batteries according to any state and local regulations.

9. Do not dispose of rechargeable batteries as solid waste.

Battery Disposal:

Lithium-ion batteries contain various materials that must be recycled and disposed of properly. Do not dispose of them in the municipal waste system. To properly dispose of the batteries at the end of their useful lives, follow these instructions:

1. Press on the tabs and pull the battery housing out of the clipper.

2. No further disassembly of the battery unit is required.

3. Take the entire battery unit to an authorized battery recycling center.
