To install the telephone base for your AT&T DLP73210, plug one end of the telephone line cord into a telephone jack or a DSL filter. If you have DSL high-speed Internet service, a DSL filter (not included) is required. Then, plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet.

To install the charger, plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch. Place the cordless handset in the charger to begin charging.

To install the battery in your AT&T DLP73210 handset:

1. Plug the battery connector securely into the socket inside the handset’s battery compartment.

2. Place the battery with the “THIS SIDE UP” label facing up and the wires tucked inside the compartment.

3. Align the cover flat against the battery compartment, then slide it upwards until it clicks into place.

After installation, charge the handset. The battery is fully charged after 11 hours of continuous charging. The CHARGE light on top of the handset will be on during charging.

The buttons on the AT&T DLP73210 handset have the following functions:

CHARGE light: On when the handset is charging.

VOL ▲ DIR: Press to show directory entries. Press to scroll up in menus. Press to move the cursor right when entering text. Press to increase listening volume during a call or message playback.

VOL ▼ CID: Press to show the caller ID log. Press to scroll down in menus. Press to move the cursor left when entering text. Press to decrease listening volume during a call or message playback.

CELL: Press to make or answer a cell call. During a cell call, press to answer an incoming call waiting alert. During message playback, press to call back the caller.

HOME/FLASH: Press to make or answer a home call. During a call, press to answer an incoming home call waiting alert. During message playback, press to call back the caller.

1: While reviewing a caller ID log entry, press repeatedly to add or remove 1 in front of the number. Press and hold to set or dial your voicemail number.

TONE *: Press to switch to tone dialing temporarily if you have pulse service. While entering names, press to change the next letter to upper or lower case.

SPEAKER: Press to make or answer a call using the speakerphone. Press to switch between the speakerphone and handset earpiece during a call.

MUTE/DELETE/VOICE: During a call, press to mute the microphone. When ringing, press to mute the ringer temporarily. Press to delete an entry when reviewing logs, directory, or redial. While predialing, press to delete digits. During message playback, press to delete the message. When not in use, press to activate the voice-controlled application of a connected cell phone.

MENU/SELECT: Press to show the menu. While in a menu, press to select an item or save a setting.

CALL BLOCK: When the phone is ringing or during a call, press to block the number. When not in use, press to show the call block menu.

OFF/CANCEL: During a call, press to hang up. In a menu, press to cancel, go back, or exit. Press and hold to return to idle mode. When ringing, press to mute the ringer temporarily. Press and hold when not in use to erase the missed call indicator.

QUIET #: When reviewing a caller ID entry, press repeatedly to display dialing options. Press and hold to enter or deactivate QUIET mode.

PTT (PUSH TO TALK): Press to initiate a one-to-one or one-to-group broadcast. Press and hold to broadcast to a group of system devices.

REDIAL/PAUSE: Press repeatedly to view the last 10 numbers dialed. While entering numbers, press and hold to insert a dialing pause.

The buttons and lights on the AT&T DLP73210 telephone base have the following functions:

VOL ▲ / VOL ▼: Adjusts volume during message playback or a call. When not in use, it adjusts the base ringer volume.

MUTE/VOICE: Mutes the microphone during a call. Silences the ringer temporarily when ringing. Activates the voice-controlled app of a connected cell phone when not in use.

X/DELETE: Deletes the message currently playing. When not in use, press twice to delete all previously reviewed messages. Deletes an individual entry while reviewing lists (redial, directory, etc.). Deletes a digit or character when entering text.

REPEAT: Repeats a message. Press twice to play the previous message.

SKIP: Skips to the next message during playback.

PLAY/STOP: Plays or stops messages.

INT: Initiates an intercom conversation or transfers a call.

HOME: Makes or answers a home call. Flashes quickly for an incoming home call and slowly when a home call is on hold.

CELL: Makes or answers a cell call. Flashes quickly for an incoming cell call and slowly when a cell call is on hold.

CALL BLOCK: Blocks an incoming call when ringing or during a call. When not in use, it shows the call block menu.

CELL 1 Light: On when a Bluetooth device is connected. Flashes alternately while pairing.

CELL 2/Headset Light: On when a Bluetooth device or headset is connected. Flashes alternately while pairing.

CANCEL: In a menu, exits without making changes. Press and hold to return to idle mode. Press and hold when not in use to erase the missed call indicator.

▼ CID: Scrolls down in menus. Reviews the caller ID log when not in use. Moves the cursor left when entering text.

MENU/SELECT: Shows the menu when not in use. Confirms or saves an entry or setting in a menu.

▲ DIR: Scrolls up in menus. Shows directory entries when not in use. Moves the cursor right when entering text.

PTT/FLASH: Displays the PTT menu. Press and hold to begin a one-to-group broadcast. Answers an incoming home call during a call (call waiting).

After installing your AT&T DLP73210 or after a power outage, you will be prompted to set the date and time. You can skip this by pressing OFF/CANCEL on the handset or CANCEL on the base. To set it manually using a cordless handset or the telephone base:

1. Press MENU.

2. Use the arrow keys to navigate to “Set date/time” and press SELECT.

3. Enter the month (MM), day (DD), and year (YY), then press SELECT.

4. Enter the hour (HH) and minute (MM).

5. Use the arrow keys to choose AM or PM, then press SELECT.

After the date and time setting, the telephone base will prompt you to set up the Smart Call Blocker. To use the voice guide from the telephone base:

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Use the arrow keys to select “Voice guide” and press SELECT.

3. Press 1 if you want to screen home calls with numbers not saved in your Directory, Allow list, or Star name list.

4. Press 2 if you do not want to screen calls and want to allow all incoming calls to get through.

After the Smart Call Blocker setup, the telephone base will prompt you to set up the answering system. To start the setup via voice guide from the telephone base:

1. Press MENU twice.

2. Use the arrow keys to select “Voice guide” and press SELECT.

3. Follow the voice prompts and input the designated numbers to record your announcement, set the number of rings, and set the message alert tone.

To pair and connect a Bluetooth cell phone using the telephone base of your AT&T DLP73210:

1. Press MENU, then use the arrow keys to navigate to “Bluetooth” and press SELECT.

2. Press SELECT to choose “Add cellular”.

3. Press SELECT again to make the telephone base discoverable.

4. Place your cell phone next to the telephone base. Turn on your cell phone’s Bluetooth feature and search for or add new devices.

5. When your cell phone finds “AT&T DECT 6.0”, press the appropriate key on your cell phone to continue the pairing process.

Keep the connected device within 15 feet of the telephone base for optimal performance.

To pair and connect a Bluetooth headset using the telephone base of your AT&T DLP73210:

1. Press MENU, then use the arrow keys to navigate to “Bluetooth” and press SELECT.

2. Use the arrow keys to select “Add headset” and press SELECT.

3. Set your headset to discoverable mode, then press SELECT on the telephone base.

You can record a custom announcement to replace the preset one on your AT&T DLP73210.

Using a cordless handset:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Answering sys”, and press SELECT.

2. Press SELECT to choose “Announcement”.

3. Press 7 to start recording.

4. Speak towards the handset to record your announcement, then press 5 to end recording and save it.

Using the telephone base:

1. Press MENU twice.

2. Press SELECT to choose “Announcement”.

3. Press SELECT to choose “Record annc”.

4. Speak towards the telephone base to record your announcement, then press 5 to end recording and save it.

To set the number of rings on your AT&T DLP73210 using a cordless handset or the telephone base:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Answering sys”, and press SELECT.

2. Navigate to “Ans sys setup” and press SELECT.

3. Navigate to “# of rings” and press SELECT.

4. Use the arrow keys to choose among 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 rings, or “Toll saver”, then press SELECT.

If you choose Toll saver, the system answers after two rings when you have new messages, and after four rings when you have no new messages.

You can set the ringer volume to one of six levels or turn it off. Use a cordless handset or the telephone base.

Set ringer volume for incoming home calls:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Ringers”, and press SELECT.

2. Press SELECT to choose “Home volume”.

3. Use the arrow keys to choose the desired level and press SELECT.

Set ringer volume for incoming cell calls:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Ringers”, and press SELECT.

2. Use the arrow keys to select “Cell volume” and press SELECT.

3. Use the arrow keys to choose the desired level and press SELECT.

To change the display language on your AT&T DLP73210 using a cordless handset or the telephone base:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Settings”, and press SELECT.

2. Press SELECT again to choose “LCD language”.

3. Use the arrow keys to choose English, Français, or Español, and press SELECT.

Note: If you accidentally change the language, you can reset it to English. From idle mode, press MENU on the handset and enter *364#, or press MENU on the base and enter 364#.

The directory can store up to 1,000 entries, shared by all devices.

Using a cordless handset:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Directory”, and press SELECT.

2. Press SELECT to choose “Add new entry”.

3. Enter a telephone number (up to 30 digits) and press SELECT.

4. Enter a name (up to 15 characters) and press SELECT.

Using the telephone base:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Directory”, and press SELECT.

2. Navigate to “Add new entry” and press SELECT.

3. Enter a telephone number (up to 30 digits) and press SELECT.

1. Press DIR on the handset or telephone base while in idle mode.

2. Use the arrow keys (▼/▲) to scroll and select the desired directory entry.

3. To call:

– Press HOME/FLASH on the handset or HOME on the base to call using the home line.

Before starting, ensure your cell phone is paired, active, and connected to your AT&T DLP73210. To download a directory using the telephone base:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Bluetooth”, and press SELECT.

2. Use the arrow keys to navigate to “Download dir” and press SELECT.

3. Press SELECT to start downloading.

The remote voice control feature on your AT&T DLP73210 allows you to activate the voice-controlled application (like Siri, Google Now, or S Voice) on your connected cell phone.

Compatibility:

• Siri: iOS (8 or above)
• Google Now: Android (4 or above)
• S Voice: Android (4 or above)

Before using, ensure that:

• Your cell phone is paired and connected via Bluetooth.

• No other Bluetooth applications are running in the background on your cell phone.

• Your cell phone is within 15 feet of the telephone base.

• Your cell phone screen is not locked with a passcode.

• You are logged into the apps you want to command (e.g., GPS, e-mail).

• Your cell phone has a strong data or Wi-Fi signal.

To activate remote voice control:

1. Press VOICE.

2. If you have two connected cell phones, use the arrow keys to select a device.

3. When the telephone base or handset plays a confirmation tone, speak your command toward the device and wait for feedback from the voice app.

4. Press CANCEL to exit.

Turn Caller ID Announce On or Off:

This feature speaks the caller’s name or number. To change the setting on a handset or the base:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Caller ID annc”, and press SELECT.

2. Use the arrow keys to choose “On” or “Off” and press SELECT.

Review and Dial a Number in the Call Log:

1. Press CID on the handset or base in idle mode.

2. Use the arrow keys to scroll through the list.

3. To dial, press HOME/FLASH (or HOME on base) for the home line, or CELL for the cell line.

Erase the Missed Calls Indicator:

When the screen shows “XX Missed calls”, you can either scroll through the call log one by one, or press and hold OFF/CANCEL on the handset or CANCEL on the base in idle mode to clear the indicator.

The Smart Call Blocker is set to on by default and allows all incoming calls. To turn the feature on or off:

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Press SELECT to choose “SCB On/Off”.

3. Use the arrow keys to choose “On” or “Off”, then press SELECT.

Note: The screening feature of Smart call blocker is applicable to incoming home calls only. All incoming cell calls will get through and ring by default. If you turn off Smart Call Blocker, all calls will ring, including numbers on your block list.

The Smart Call Blocker on your AT&T DLP73210 uses categories to manage incoming home calls. You can customize how it handles unknown and uncategorized calls.

Add a number from the Caller ID log:

1. Press CID on the handset or telephone base and use the arrow keys to find the entry.

2. Press SELECT when the desired entry appears.

3. Use the arrow keys to select “To Block list”, “To Allow list”, or “To Star name list”, then press SELECT.

4. Press SELECT twice to confirm.

Add a number or name manually:

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Use the arrow keys to select “Block list”, “Allow list”, or “Star name list”, and press SELECT.

3. Use the arrow keys to select “Add new entry” and press SELECT.

4. For the block and allow lists, enter a telephone number (up to 30 digits) and press SELECT. Then enter a name (up to 15 characters) and press SELECT.

5. For the star name list, enter a name (up to 15 characters) and press SELECT.

You can use one of five profiles to quickly configure your Smart Call Blocker. To set a profile:

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Use the arrow keys to navigate to “Set profile” and press SELECT.

3. Use the arrow keys to choose one of the following profiles, then press SELECT.

• Screen unknown: Screens all unknown home calls.
• Screen robot: Screens robocalls.
• Allow unknown: Blocks calls on the block list only (this is the default setting).
• UnknownToAns.S: Forwards all unknown home calls to the answering system.
• Block unknown: Blocks all unknown home calls.

If you have the “Screen unknown” or “Screen robot” profile active, the phone will play a screening announcement and ask the caller to respond. After the caller responds, the phone rings and announces options. You can then:

• Press 2 to answer the call and add the current number to the allow list.

• Press 3 to block the home call and add the current number to the block list.

You will also have options to answer without saving (press 1), send the call to the answering system (press 4), or repeat the options (press *).

If you are on a home or cell call and wish to end the call and block the number:

1. During the call, press CALL BLOCK.

2. Press SELECT to confirm. The call will end with a block announcement, and the number will be added to your block list.

If you have added a number to the block list, you can unblock it by following these steps:

1. Press CALL BLOCK.

2. Use the arrow keys to select “Block list” and press SELECT.

3. Press SELECT to choose “Review”.

4. Use the arrow keys to browse through the blocked entries.

5. When the desired entry is displayed, press DELETE, then press SELECT to confirm.

Your AT&T DLP73210 has separate indicators for messages left on its built-in answering system and those left with your telephone service provider’s voicemail.

The answering system must be on to answer and record messages.

Using a cordless handset:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Answering sys”, and press SELECT.

2. Navigate to “Answer on/off” and press SELECT.

3. Use the arrow keys to choose “On” or “Off”, then press SELECT. The handset will show ANS ON when the system is on.

Using the telephone base:

Press the ANS ON button. The system will announce, “Calls will be answered” when turned on, or “Calls will not be answered” when turned off.

To access these settings, use a cordless handset or the telephone base:

1. Press MENU, navigate to “Answering sys”, and press SELECT.

2. Navigate to “Ans sys setup” and press SELECT.

3. From here you can adjust the following:

• Message alert tone: Select “Msg alert tone”, then press SELECT. Choose “On” or “Off”, then press SELECT. When on, the base beeps every 10 seconds if there is a new message.

• Call screening: Select “Call screening”, then press SELECT. Choose “On” or “Off”, then press SELECT. When on, you can hear the caller leaving a message through the speaker. You can press HOME/FLASH on the handset or HOME on the base to answer the call while it’s being recorded.

To play back messages:

• Using the telephone base: Press the PLAY/STOP button when the base is in idle mode.

• Using a cordless handset: Press MENU, then press SELECT when the handset is in idle mode to play messages.
