To determine the volume of water in gallons, use the following formula: Average Length x Average Width x Average Depth x 7.5 = Total Gallons in Pond.

It is important to calculate this before construction to properly size equipment and again after construction to accurately dose the pond with treatments.

To limit transitional water volume and prevent the pump from running dry, use these surface area formulas:

Maximum Area Of Stream (If You Know Your Pond Size): Average Length of Pond x Average Width of Pond ÷ 2 = Maximum Area of Stream.

Minimum Area Of Pond (If You Know Your Stream Size): Average Length of Stream x Average Width of Stream x 2 = Minimum Area of Pond.

Whenever possible, position the Skimmer and FilterFalls directly across from each other at opposite ends of the pond. This setup creates a current that pulls surface debris into the Skimmer. If the pond has an unusual shape or the components are too close, dead areas may occur, which can be eliminated using multiple falls or skimmers.

The excavation should be a few inches wider and longer than the Skimmer body. Use the following table to determine the approximate depth based on the model being used with your ATLANTIC BF2600 system:

The bottom of the hole should be level side-to-side and front-to-back, ideally set on undisturbed earth.

Step 1. Place the Skimmer enclosure into the excavated hole and ensure it is level front-to-back and side-to-side.

Step 2. Verify the water level falls between 1 1/4 inches and 1 1/2 inches below the top of the weir door opening.

Step 3. Ensure any unexcavated soil in front of the Skimmer is at least 10 inches below the water level.

Step 4. Place stones inside the enclosure to weigh it down and install the solid support bars.

Step 5. Loosely backfill the enclosure on all sides, lightly compacting as you go. Do not over-compact, as this may deform the enclosure.

Step 1. Hold the liner against the Skimmer face, allowing at least 2 inches to extend above the top. Leave slack below the weir opening to avoid strain.

Step 2. Secure the liner with provided spring clips and cut a hole for the weir door using the skimmer opening as a guide.

Step 3. Remove clips and pull the liner back to apply a consistent bead of fish-safe RTV Silicone Sealant around the opening, approximately 3/4 inch away from the opening and directly over the bolt holes.

Step 4. Return the liner to its original position and replace the spring clips.

Step 1. Unlatch the weir door and lower it to the fully open position. Push the weir door frame tight against the Skimmer face.

Step 2. Use a nail or awl to pierce the liner through the top corner holes and loosely fasten them with 1/4-20 machine screws and serrated flange nuts.

Step 3. Install screws in the bottom corners, then install the remaining screws. Do not fully tighten any screws until all are installed.

Step 4. Use a hand-held screwdriver to tighten the screws until snug. The flange nut serrations will grab the plastic, so a wrench is not needed.

Standard skimmers do not come with pre-drilled pump outlets. Use the following table to determine the correct hole saw size for the desired PVC pipe diameter:

Note: The PS3900 model uses molded step fittings for 1 1/2 inch or 2 inch PVC and does not require drilling.

Step 1. Remove the retaining nut and friction washer from the bulkhead. Note that the nut has reverse threads; turn clockwise to loosen.

Step 2. From the inside of the FilterFalls, insert the threaded end into the hole. This sandwiches the rubber gasket between the flange and the inside wall.

Step 3. Slip the friction washer over the threads on the outside and install the retaining nut. Turn counterclockwise to tighten.

Step 4. Tighten by hand and finish with a half turn from a wrench. Use the following table for hole saw requirements:

Place the unit on undisturbed soil or thoroughly compacted fill. Ensure the unit is level side-to-side but tilted slightly forward about 1/4 inch to prevent water from leaking over the back. Weigh the unit down with rocks before backfilling and making final plumbing connections.

Step 1. Drape a minimum of 6 inches of liner over the top of the enclosure and secure with spring clips, leaving slack below the spillway.

Step 2. Use a sharp razor knife to cut the spillway opening using the inside of the spillway as a guide.

Step 3. Pull the liner back and apply a consistent bead of fish-safe RTV silicone to the face of the FilterFalls along the center line of the threaded inserts.

Step 4. Reattach the liner and secure the U-shaped flange starting with the center screw, then working toward the sides. Tighten screws only with a hand-held screwdriver until snug.

Locate the intersection of your Skimmer model and TidalWave pump model on the reference chart. If the result is a letter, use the 1 1/2 inch threaded end of the discharge pipe. If it is a number, use the 2 inch threaded end. Cut the pipe at the specified mark using a hacksaw or PVC saw for a “perfect cut.”

Step 1. Identify the drill point on either side of the Skimmer and drill a 7/8 inch hole.

Step 2. Insert the Auto Fill valve, ensuring the gasket is on the water side and the plastic retaining nut is on the outside.

Step 3. Tighten the retaining nut by hand; do not over-tighten.

Step 4. Connect the appropriate fitting (garden hose, 1/2 inch irrigation line, or 1/2 inch Sch 40 PVC) using thread sealant.

Step 5. Adjust the water level by loosening the wing nut and raising or lowering the float height.

A drill-point is provided on the back of the Skimmer for an overflow installation. Drill a 3 inch hole and install an HA2000 bulkhead fitting with a 2 inch MTA. This setup positions the bottom of the overflow pipe approximately 1 inch above the recommended water level. Apply silicone to the MTA threads and use PVC glue to secure the flex hose into the MTA.
