****** Page 5 ****** Safety Information Before setting up the monitor, carefully read all the documentation that came with the package. To prevent fire or shock hazard, never expose the monitor to rain or moisture. Never try to open the monitor cabinet. The dangerous high voltages inside the monitor may result in serious physical injury. If the power supply is broken, do not try to fix it by yourself. Contact a qualified service technician or your retailer. Before using the product, make sure all cables are correctly connected and the power cables are not damaged. If you detect any damage, contact your dealer immediately. Slots and openings on the back or top of the cabinet are provided for ventilation. Do not block these slots. Never place this product near or over a radiator or heat source unless proper ventilation is provided. The monitor should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your dealer or local power company. Use the appropriate power plug which complies with your local power standard. Do not overload power strips and extension cords. Overloading can result in fire or electric shock. Avoid dust, humidity, and temperature extremes. Do not place the monitor in any area where it may become wet. Place the monitor on a stable surface. Unplug the unit during a lightning storm or if it will not be used for a long period of time. This will protect the monitor from damage due to power surges. Never push objects or spill liquid of any kind into the slots on the monitor cabinet. To ensure satisfactory operation, use the monitor only with UL listed computers which have appropriate configured receptacles marked between 100-240V AC. The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible. If you encounter technical problems with the monitor, contact a qualified service technician or your retailer. This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling.

****** Page 6 ****** Care & Cleaning Before you lift or reposition your monitor, it is better to disconnect the cables and power cord. Follow the correct lifting techniques when positioning the monitor. When lifting or carrying the monitor, grasp the edges of the monitor. Do not lift the display by the stand or the cord. Cleaning. Turn your monitor off and unplug the power cord. Clean the monitor surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth dampened with mild cleaner. Avoid using a cleaner containing alcohol or acetone. Use a cleaner intended for use with the LCD. Never spray cleaner directly on the screen, as it may drip inside the monitor and cause an electric shock. The following symptoms are normal with the monitor: The screen may flicker during the initial use due to the nature of the fluorescent light. Turn off the Power Switch and turn it on again to make sure that the flicker disappears. You may find slightly uneven brightness on the screen depending on the desktop pattern you use. When the same image is displayed for hours, an afterimage of the previous screen may remain after switching the image. The screen will recover slowly or you can turn off the Power Switch for hours. When the screen becomes black or flashes, or cannot work anymore, contact your dealer or service center to fix it. Do not repair the screen by yourself! ****** Page 14 ****** 2.1 Adjusting the Monitor For optimal viewing, we recommend that you look at the full face of the monitor, then adjust the monitor to the angle that is most comfortable for you. Hold the stand to prevent the monitor from falling while changing its angle. You can adjust the monitor’s angle from -50 to 220 -50 to +220 It is normal that the monitor slightly shakes while you adjust the viewing angle. ASUS LC[) Monitor VZ22g Series 2-1

****** Page 17 ****** In the Standard Mode, the Saturation, Skin Tone, Sharpness, and ASCR functions are not user-configurable. In the sRGB, the Saturation, Color Temp., SkinTone, Sharpness, Brightness, Contrast, and ASCR functions are not user-configurable. In the Reading Mode, the Saturation, SkinTone, ASCR, Contrast, and Color Temp. functions are not user-configurable. Blue Light Filter Reduce the energy level of blue light emitted from LED backlight. 2. 3-3 s Blue Light Filter Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 VZ229 Q Standard Mode VGA 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz Level O: No change. Level IN4: The higher the level, the more blue light will be reduced. When Blue Light Filter is activated, the default settings of Standard Mode will be automatically imported. Between Level 1 to Level 3, the Brightness function is user-configurable. Level 4 is optimized setting. It is compliance with TUV Low Blue Light Certification. The Brightness function is not user-configurable. To alleviate eye strain, rest your eyes for fifteen minutes for every two hours spent in front of the screen. Frequent blinking and eye exercise helps keep your eye moist to prevent them from drying out. In addition, your computer screen should be placed 20 to 28 inches (50-70cm) away from you. In the User Mode, colors of R (Red), G (Green), and B (Blue) are user- configurable; the adjusting range is from 0 100. Skin Tone: Select the desired skin color. ASCR: Select ON or OFF to enable or disable dynamic contrast ratio function. Position: Adjust the horizontal position (H-Position) and the vertical position (V-Position) of the image. The adjusting range is from O to 100 (only available for VGA input). Focus: Reduce the Horizontal-line noise and Vertical-line noise of the image by adjusting (Phase) and (Clock) separately. Chapter 3: General Instruction ****** Page 28 ****** 3.3 Troubleshooting (FAQ) Problem Power LED is not ON The power LED lights amber and there is no screen image Screen image is too light or dark Screen image bounces or a wave pattern is present in the image Screen image has color defects (white does not look white) No sound or sound is low ASUS LC[) Monitor VZ22g Series Possible Solution Press the e.) button to check if the monitor is turned on. • Check if the adapter and power cord are properly connected to the monitor and the power outlet. Check the Power Indicator function in the OSD menu. Select "ON" to turn on the power LED. Check if the monitor and the computer are turned on. Make sure the signal cable is properly connected the monitor and the computer. Inspect the signal cable and make sure none of the pins are bent. Connect the computer with another available monitor to check if the computer is properly working. Adjust the Contrast and Brightness settings via OSD. Make sure the signal cable is properly connected to the monitor and the computer. Move electrical devices that may cause electrical interference. Inspect the signal cable and make sure that none of the pins are bent. Perform Reset via OSD. Select the appropriate color temperature (Color Temp.) via OSD. Adjust the volume settings of your monitor or computer.
