To set up your ASUS D700SAES desktop PC, follow these steps:

1. Connect an external monitor: Connect a monitor to a display output port (VGA, HDMI™, or DisplayPort) on the rear panel of your computer. If your computer has a separate graphics card, connect the monitor to a port on the graphics card. Plug the monitor into a power source.

2. Connect keyboard and mouse: Connect a USB keyboard and a USB mouse to the USB ports on the rear panel.

3. Connect the power cord: Connect one end of the power cord to the power connector on the rear panel and the other end to a grounded electrical outlet.

4. Turn on your computer: Turn your monitor ON, then press the power button on the front of your computer. Wait for the operating system to load automatically.

To set up multiple monitors with your ASUS D700SAES, follow these steps:

1. Turn off your computer.

2. Connect two monitors to the available display output ports on your computer (VGA, HDMI™, or DisplayPort). Connect the power cords for both monitors to a power source.

3. Turn on your computer.

4. From the Start menu, click Settings > System > Display.

5. Configure the settings for your displays. You can set the additional monitor as a duplicate of your main display or as an extension to enlarge your Windows desktop.

NOTE: For some graphics cards, only the monitor set as the primary display will show an image during POST (Power-On Self-Test). The dual display function works only within Windows.

To maintain proper posture and avoid physical strain while using your ASUS D700SAES, follow these tips:

• Position your chair so your elbows are at or slightly above the keyboard.

• Adjust your chair height so your knees are slightly higher than your hips. Use a footrest if needed.

• Sit upright with your knees, elbows, and hips at an approximate 90° angle.

• Adjust the back of your chair to firmly support the base of your spine at a slightly backward angle.

• Place the monitor directly in front of you, with the top of the screen at eye level so you look slightly downward.

• Keep the mouse close to the keyboard. Use a wrist rest for support if necessary.

• Use your computer in a well-lit area, away from sources of glare like windows.

• Take regular mini-breaks.

To use the memory card reader on your ASUS D700SAES:

1. Insert the memory card into the correct card slot. A memory card is keyed to fit in only one direction; do not force it.

2. Select a program from the AutoPlay window that appears to access your files. If AutoPlay is not enabled, open File Explorer from the Start menu and double-click the memory card’s drive icon.

3. When you are finished, right-click the memory card’s drive icon, select Eject, and then remove the card.

IMPORTANT: To prevent data loss, do not remove cards while data is being read, copied, or deleted. Use the “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” option in the Windows notification area before removing the card.

To insert an optical disc:

1. While the system is on, press the eject button on the drive bay cover to open the tray.

2. Place the disc on the optical drive with the label side facing outward (if the desktop is vertical) or the label side up (if horizontal).

3. Gently push the tray to close it.

4. Select a program from the AutoPlay window to access the files on the disc.

To remove an optical disc:

1. While the system is on, do one of the following to eject the tray:

• Press the eject button on the drive bay cover.

• From the Start menu, open File Explorer, right-click the CD/DVD drive icon, and click Eject.

2. Remove the disc from the tray.

You can enable or disable the front and rear USB ports from the BIOS Setup by following these steps:

1. Restart your computer and press <Delete> during startup to enter the BIOS Setup.

2. From the EZ Mode screen, press <F7> to enter Advanced Mode.

3. Navigate to Advanced > Security > I/O Interface Security > USB Interface Security > USB Port Control.

4. Select the USB port you want to configure and press <Enter> to either enable or disable it.

5. Click Exit and select Save Changes & Reset to save your changes and restart the computer.

To set a password to protect your Hard Disk Drive (HDD) from the BIOS Setup:

1. Restart your computer and press <Delete> during startup to enter the BIOS Setup.

2. From the EZ Mode screen, press <F7> to enter Advanced Mode.

3. Go to Security > HDD Security Configuration: [name of HDD] to open the HDD Password screen.

4. Select Set Master Password and press <Enter>. In the Create New Password box, type a password and press <Enter>. Confirm the password when prompted.

5. Select Set User Password and press <Enter>. Follow the same steps to set the user password.

6. Click Exit and select Save Changes & Reset to save the configuration.

To change the password: Follow steps 1-3, select the password type you want to change, enter the current password, then enter and confirm the new password.

To clear the user password: Follow the steps for changing a password, but when prompted to create/confirm a new password, just press <Enter> without typing anything. The status will then show “Not Installed”.

You can connect your ASUS D700SAES to the internet using an RJ-45 cable to a DSL/cable modem or a Local Area Network (LAN).

Connecting via a DSL/cable modem:

1. Set up your DSL/cable modem according to its documentation.

2. Connect one end of an RJ-45 cable to the LAN (RJ-45) port on the rear panel of your computer and the other end to your DSL/cable modem.

3. Turn on the DSL/cable modem and your computer.

4. Configure the necessary Internet connection settings in your operating system.

Connecting via a Local Area Network (LAN):

1. Connect one end of an RJ-45 cable to the LAN (RJ-45) port on the rear panel of your computer and the other end to your LAN (e.g., a network wall outlet or router).

2. Turn on your computer.

3. Configure the necessary Internet connection settings.

1. Open Network and Sharing Center. You can do this by right-clicking the network icon in the taskbar or by navigating through Start menu > Settings > Network & Internet > Ethernet > Network and Sharing Center.

2. Click Change Adapter settings.

3. Right-click on your LAN connection (e.g., “Ethernet”) and select Properties.

4. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.

5. Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically, then click OK.

6. If you are using PPPoE, return to the Network and Sharing Center, click Set up a new connection or network.

7. Select Connect to the Internet and click Next.

8. Select Broadband (PPPoE) and follow the onscreen instructions, entering the username and password provided by your ISP.

2. In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window, select Use the following IP address.

3. Enter the IP address, Subnet mask, and Default gateway provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or network administrator.

4. Select Use the following DNS server addresses and enter the Preferred and Alternate DNS server addresses if required.

5. Click OK to save the settings.

When you start your ASUS D700SAES for the first time, a series of screens will guide you through configuring the basic settings of Windows 10.

1. Press the power button on your Desktop PC. Wait a few minutes for the setup screen to appear.

2. From the setup screen, pick your region and language.

3. Carefully read the License Terms, then tap I Accept.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions to configure basic items such as Personalize, Get online, Settings, and Your account.

5. Wait until Windows 10 finishes installing the apps and system settings. After installation, the Windows 10 desktop will appear.

If your ASUS D700SAES won’t turn on, try the following:

If only one of your multiple monitors is displaying an image, check these points:

• Ensure that both monitors are powered on.

• If a discrete graphics card is installed, ensure that you connect the monitors to the output ports on the graphics card, not the motherboard.

• Check if the multiple display settings in Windows (Settings > System > Display) are configured correctly.

If your speakers produce no sound, follow these troubleshooting steps:

• Ensure your speakers are connected to the Line out port (lime green) on either the front or rear panel.

• Check if your speakers are connected to an electrical source and turned on.

• Adjust your speakers’ volume control.

• Ensure your computer’s system sounds are not muted. In the Windows notification area, check the volume icon. If it shows a mute symbol, click it to unmute and adjust the volume slider.

• Connect your speakers to another device (like a smartphone) to test if they are working properly.

You can use the Windows 10 “Refresh your PC without affecting your files” recovery option. This will restore system settings without deleting personal data like documents or photos. To use this option:

1. From the Start menu, click Settings > Update & security > Recovery.

2. Under the section “Refresh your PC without affecting your files” (or similar wording like “Reset this PC” with a “Keep my files” option), click Get started.

3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Restoring your PC to its original factory settings will remove all your personal files, apps, and settings. Be sure to back up all your data before proceeding.
