What are the general safety instructions for using the ASKO HID144MC induction hob?

Before use, read the Safety instructions first. Key safety points include:

General Safety:

• The cooking process must be supervised. A short-term cooking process must be supervised continuously.

• Do not place metallic objects such as knives, forks, spoons, and lids on the hob surface as they can get hot.

• After use, switch off the hob element by its control and do not rely solely on the pan detector.

• If the surface is cracked, switch off the appliance to avoid the possibility of electric shock.

Danger of Fire:

• Do not store items on the cooking surfaces.

• Unattended cooking on a hob with fat or oil can be dangerous and may result in a fire. NEVER try to extinguish a fire with water, but switch off the appliance and then cover the flame e.g. with a lid or a fire blanket.

Households with Children:

• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning safe use.

• The appliance and its accessible parts become hot during use. Care should be taken to avoid touching heating elements. Children younger than 8 years of age shall be kept away unless continuously supervised.

How does the cooking-time limiter on the ASKO HID144MC work?

The cooking-time limiter is a safety function on your ASKO HID144MC that operates if you forget to switch off your hob. Depending on the power setting, the cooking zone will automatically switch off after a specific period. This limiter is reset whenever the user changes the cooking level of the zone. Timers set for a specific cooking zone take priority over the cooking-time limiter.

Setting The cooking zone switches off automatically after:
1 and 2 9 hours
3, 4 and 5 6 hours
6, 7 and 8 4 hours
9 3 hours
10 2 hours
11 and 12 1 hour
boost 10 minutes (switches to setting 12)

How do I use the touch controls on the ASKO HID144MC?

• Place the tip of your finger flat on the control to achieve the best results. You do not need to apply pressure.

• The touch sensors react only to the light pressure of a fingertip.

• The cooking hob is operated by a slider. You can either touch a selected part of the slider or slide in a circular motion (clockwise to increase, anti-clockwise to decrease) the power level and temperature.

• To set the power level, touch the desired spot on the slider. The selected power level will appear on the cooking zone display, and the selected part of the slider will be fully lit.

What type of pans should I use with the ASKO HID144MC induction hob?

Induction cooking requires pans of a particular quality. Only use pans suitable for induction cooking with a thick base (minimum 2.25 mm) and a flat base. Pans that have been used on a gas hob are no longer suitable. You can check if your pans are suitable by using a magnet; if the base of the pan is sufficiently attracted to the magnet, it is suitable.

Suitable Unsuitable
Special stainless steel pans Earthenware
Class Induction Stainless steel (non-magnetic)
Hard-wearing enamelled pans Porcelain
Enamelled cast-iron pans Copper
Plastic
Aluminium

Be careful with enamelled sheet-steel pans as the enamel may chip, or the base may warp due to overheating. Heat these pans slowly. Also, never use pans with a misshapen, hollow, or rounded base.
