****** Page 1 ****** Multi-rgt« The Pyramid Multi-Tester is a safety device designed for non-contact sensing of “live” AC power, direct contact testing of “live” AC. circuit testing and DC polarity testing Read completely and understand all instructions, cautiotß and varnings before gsi% tib tNl. WARNING Direct contact with live wiring can cause ekctrical serious injury or • Before using the MuRi.Tester to cone tact test AC power, test it on an out- ht that you know to live. • Wtwn working on wiring, avoid eW trical shock by using ttw AC power test capabilities of this tool to ensure power has been disconnect- Trip the circuit breaker or apliance before starting work. • Always remove probes from any pow« source before opning battery oc servicing tyte the test toot wit•out battery door in place. • Keep your fingers tte finger away from nwtal parts on tips. BEFORE USE: This product comes with a 9 volt battery. Slide open battery com- partment on rear of instrument and insert battery. Always Preset the Unit by touch• ing the metal tips of the two Probes together. Press the TEST button. If the battery is good the green lamp will light. If lamp does not light, replace the battery before testing. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Contact Testing ot “LIVE” AC Power 1. Touch one of the wires with the tester probe (A) and the other wire with the test probe (B). Move both probes around in the outlet to be sure you are making contact. 2. The neon voltage indicators will tight to confirm the voltage as follows: One indicator: 110 volts Two indicators; 220 volts Three hdtators: 380 vots Discontinue use of the product if a lamp fails to light when testim a power source you know to be live. c Nan-Cmtact Sensing of “LIVE” AC Power IOV AC to 1. Hold the side of the Multi-Tester marked “SENSOR’ (C) up to a potential live power source, about I/C away and press the red “SENSE” button. 2. A red lamp will light and buzzer will sound contin- uousty if power source is live. (When testing a cord by moving the tool atong its length. the lamp will fade to indicate where possible breaks are.) CIRCUIT/CONTINUITY TEST: (Check that Power to Appliance or Wiring is Disconnected) Pre•Test Before Use: Touch the tester probe (A) with the test probe (B) and press the “TEST” button. The circuit lamp witl light and the buzzer will sound contig- uously if thet)attery is good. If circuit lamp and buzzer respond weakly or fait altogether, the battery should be replaced. Important: When testing for continuity, remove or dis- connect the power source from the item you are test- ing. Either unplug from AC and/or remove battery if battery powered. Failure to do so can result in false readings or damage the Multi-Tester item being test- ed. When testing an appliance, unplug the appliance and/or remove the battery if battery powered. Turn the appliance switch on. 1. Touch one end of circuit with tester probe (A) and the other With the test probe (B). 2. Press “TEST” button, a complete circuit witl activate lamp and buzzer. 3. If complete circuit is not indicated, check any switches and circuit breaker in line, otherwise there is tikety to be a break in the circuit. DC POLARITY TEST: I. Press red SENSE button. Touch one terminal of the battery with the tester probe (A) and the other tere minal with the test probe (B). 2. One lamp, either “+” or wilt light to indicate polarity as follows “+” lamp: tester probe (A) on positive terminal lamp: tester probe (A) on negative terminal The Multi-Tester tool requires one 9 volt •jattery which is included. 630 Merrick Rd., P.O.
