To turn the power on for your ALPINE UTE-72BT, press any button on the unit.

To turn the power off, press and hold the SOURCE/Power button for at least 2 seconds.

To change the audio source on your ALPINE UTE-72BT, press the SOURCE button repeatedly to cycle through the available options. The source sequence is as follows:

TUNER → USB AUDIO/iPod → BT AUDIO → AUXILIARY → TUNER

Please note the following conditions:

• USB AUDIO/iPod is only available when an iPod/iPhone is connected.

• BT AUDIO is only displayed when the BT IN setting is set to ON.

• AUXILIARY is only available when the AUX SETUP is set to ON.

Adjusting Volume:

Turn the rotary encoder knob to increase or decrease the volume.

Displaying Text:

Press the -VIEW button. The text information shown on the display will change each time the button is pressed.

Recalling the TUNER Mode:

Press the SOURCE button until the TUNER mode is selected.

Changing the Band:

Press the BAND button to cycle through the available radio bands: FM1 → FM2 → FM3 → MW → LW → FM1.

Presetting Stations Automatically:

Press and hold the TUNE/A.ME button for at least 2 seconds. The tuner will automatically seek and store 6 strong stations in the selected band.

Tuning to Preset Stations:

Press one of the numbered preset buttons (1 through 6) to tune to a stored station.

Connect your USB memory device to the unit’s USB port. The ALPINE UTE-72BT can play MP3, WMA, and AAC files stored on the device.

• Select USB Mode: Press the SOURCE button to select the USB AUDIO mode.

• Pause and Playback: Press the ►/II button to pause or resume playback.

• Select a Song: Press the K or ► button to skip to the beginning of the current or next song. Press and hold either button to fast backward or fast forward.

M.I.X. (Random Play):

• Folder M.I.X.: All songs in the current folder are played back in random sequence.

• ALL M.I.X.: All songs in the USB Memory are played back in random sequence.

• Off: Cancels random play.

Repeat Play:

• File Repeat: Only the current file is repeatedly played back.

• Folder Repeat: Only the files in the current folder are repeatedly played back.

• Off: Cancels repeat play.

Step 1. Use your Bluetooth compatible device to search for available devices and select “Alpine Digital Media Receiver”.

Step 2. Follow the instructions for your specific type of device:

• For devices with Secure Simple Pairing (SSP): The head unit will display “PAIR”. Turn the Rotary encoder to select “YES”, and then press Q/ENTER.

• For all other devices: When prompted by the head unit, input the PIN code “0000” on the Bluetooth compatible device.

Step 3. When pairing is successful, “CONNECTED” will be displayed on the head unit.

Making a Call:

Step 1. Press the -VOICE CTRL. button to activate the outgoing method list selection mode.

Step 2. Turn the Rotary encoder to select from DIALLED, RECEIVED, MISSED, or PHONE BOOK.

Step 3. Press Q/ENTER to confirm your selection.

Step 4. Turn the Rotary encoder to select the desired name or telephone number.

Step 5. Press Q/ENTER to make the call. The selected telephone number will be called.

Answering an Incoming Call:

Press the -VOICE CTRL. button to answer the call. If “AUTO ANS” is set to ON, the call will be answered automatically after about 5 seconds.

Ending a Call:

Press the -VOICE CTRL. button to end the call. You can also hang up by pressing and holding the button for at least 2 seconds.

Step 1. Press and hold the -VOICE CTRL. button for at least 2 seconds to activate the Voice Recognition mode.

Step 2. After “SPEAK” is displayed on the unit, you can make a phone call, play a song, etc., by inputting voice control commands through the connected microphone.

Please note:

• This operation is only available when a Voice Recognition compatible mobile phone is connected.

• The performance of the voice recognition function depends on the mobile phone’s recognition range and the microphone’s mounting location.

Connect your iPod or iPhone to the ALPINE UTE-72BT using the appropriate interface cable.

• Select iPod Mode: Press the SOURCE button to select the iPod mode.

• Pause and Playback: Press the ►/II button to pause or resume playback.

• Select a Song: Press the K or ► button to skip to the beginning of the current or next song. Press and hold either button to search quickly through the current song.

Random Play Shuffle (M.I.X.):

• Shuffle Albums: Plays back all songs on an album in order, then randomly selects the next album.

• Shuffle Songs: Randomly plays back songs within a selected category (e.g., playlist, album).

• Shuffle All: To activate, press Q/ENTER, turn the Rotary encoder to select SHUFFLEALL, and press Q/ENTER again. This plays all songs on the iPod/iPhone randomly. Press the 5 button to cancel.

Repeat Play:

• This function repeatedly plays back a single song.

Step 1. Press Q/ENTER to activate the search selection mode.

Step 2. Turn the Rotary encoder to select the desired search mode (e.g., PLAYLIST, ARTIST, ALBUM, SONG, etc.).

Step 3. Press Q/ENTER to confirm the search mode.

Step 4. Turn the Rotary encoder to select the desired title, artist, album, etc.

Step 5. Press Q/ENTER to confirm your selection and start playback or proceed to the next search level.

You can search for a title by performing steps 4 and 5 repeatedly to navigate through the hierarchy levels. The search hierarchy is as follows:

Note: When a search is made during M.I.X. play, the M.I.X. play mode will be cancelled.
