Keep the volume at optimal levels while in use. Do not listen at high volume levels for a long period. Prolonged exposure to high volume levels may cause high sound pressure and may run the risk of hearing damage.

Your ALIENWARE PRO PRO-HS UD2202U supports Bluetooth only for wireless communication. Any audio recording or background listening is not enabled.

The supported Bluetooth functionalities are:

• Audio playback (wireless music and media).

• Voice communication through the integrated microphone.

• Basic controls such as volume adjustment and microphone on or off.

• It supports only functions for basic operations; other Bluetooth services like file sharing are not enabled.

The microphone functionalities are:

• Captures your voice only when requested from the host to support microphone functionality.

• Used for calls or voice apps when the headset is connected.

The microphone is off by default and does not record or listen in the background. To control the microphone:

1. Manually turn on the microphone when you want to use it.

2. Turn off the microphone by disconnecting the Bluetooth, or turn off the headset to stop microphone use.

Restoring the headset to factory settings clears the Bluetooth device list and resets all settings to their defaults. Follow these steps:

1. Within a minute of turning on your headset, press and hold the microphone mute button for 10 seconds. This can be done whether the headset is connected via dongle or Bluetooth mode.

2. If you are in Bluetooth mode, holding the button will first activate ultra-low latency mode. Continue holding the button to enter factory reset mode.

3. When the reset is triggered, the power LED will blink for three seconds.

4. After the reset is complete, you will hear “power on” from your headset.

The following components are shipped with your ALIENWARE PRO PRO-HS UD2202U headset:

NOTE: The headset must be charged prior to first-time use.

The headset controls and their descriptions are as follows:

To charge your headset, connect the USB-C end of the provided USB-A to USB-C cable to the headset’s USB-C port. Attach the other end to a power source like a computer. Complete charging from flat to full takes less than 2.5 hours.

NOTES:

• For best results, ensure the battery is fully charged before first-time use.

• To improve battery life, turn off the headset when it is not in use.

• When a USB cable is connected, the Power Slider and Connectivity mode are disabled.

• Connecting a USB cable disconnects any wireless connection.

The power LED on your headset indicates the battery status:

To turn the headset on, slide the power slider down. You will hear a “power on” voice prompt.

To turn the headset off, slide the power slider up.

NOTE: The headset will automatically turn off after 30 minutes of inactivity. This setting can be customized in the Alienware Command Center (AWCC).

The headset is compatible with Microsoft Windows 10 or Microsoft Windows 11 64-bit/Mobile/PS4/PS5/Nintendo Switch.

Insert the boom microphone firmly into the boom microphone port on the headset. Ensure that the line on the mic plug is fully covered for a secure connection.

NOTE: The microphone foam shield can be used to protect the microphone from wind noise and air movement.

1. Plug the USB-C wireless dongle into the USB-C port on your computer. Alternatively, use the included USB-A to USB-C adapter to connect the dongle to a USB-A port.

2. On the headset, slide the connectivity mode slider to 2.4GHz mode. The headset and dongle are pre-paired.

3. Once connected, you will hear “dongle connected”. The headset’s power LED will light up white for 3 seconds, then slow blink in white. The dongle’s LED will light up teal.

NOTE: It is recommended to unplug the USB-C wireless dongle when not in use to avoid confusion in audio device selection.

1. Turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.

2. On the headset, slide the connectivity mode slider to the bottom position and hold for 2 seconds. You will hear “Bluetooth pairing,” and the power LED will blink blue to indicate it is in pairing mode.

3. On your device, follow the instructions to select and connect to “AWPRO H BT”.

4. Once connected, you will hear “Bluetooth connected,” and the power LED will light up blue for 3 seconds, followed by a slow blink in white.

Connect the USB-C end of the provided USB-A to USB-C cable to your headset. Connect the other end to a USB-A port on your computer device.

NOTES:

• When connected via USB cable, the Power Slider and Connectivity mode are disabled.

• Connecting a USB cable disconnects the wireless connection.

• It is strongly recommended to use the provided USB-A to USB-C cable for wired connections. Using a non-compatible cable may result in undesirable noise or connectivity issues.

To use your headset for gaming or music, you need to set the preferred audio endpoint in Windows Audio Settings. This applies to both wired and wireless modes.

1. On the taskbar, right-click the speaker icon and click Sound settings.

2. Select More sound settings to open the Sound dialog box.

3. In the Playback tab:

• Set the default playback device:

– When using the USB cable, select AWPRO H Wired Game.

– When using the USB-C wireless dongle, select AWPRO H Wireless Game.

• Set the default communication device:

– When using the USB cable, select AWPRO H Wired Chat.

– When using the USB-C wireless dongle, select AWPRO H Wireless Chat.

4. In the Recording tab:

• Set the default communication device:

– When using the USB cable, select AWPRO H Wired Chat.

– When using the USB-C wireless dongle, select AWPRO H Wireless Chat.

5. Click the Communications tab, select Do nothing, and click OK.

Alienware Command Center (AWCC) allows you to configure your headset when connected via USB cable or the wireless dongle. Full features are not accessible via Bluetooth.

In the ALIENFX menu, you can:

• View the device connection type.

• View the battery level and charging status.

In the Settings tab, you can access:

• Sound tab:

– Adjust volume.

– Configure Hybrid ANC mode and settings.

– Launch Windows sound settings.

– Launch Dolby Atmos Link.

• Microphone tab:

– Adjust microphone volume.

– Configure Sidetone setting.

– Configure Microphone Noise Cancellation level.

– Perform a mic test.

• Battery tab:

– Configure Battery saver settings and threshold level.

– Configure Sleep mode settings.

• Update tab:

– View and upgrade device firmware.

– Restore Factory Defaults.

If you have Alienware Headset Center (AWHC) installed, uninstall it first. AWCC requires Windows 10 version 16299 or later, or Windows 11.

Installing through Windows Update:

1. Connect your Alienware USB-C wireless dongle to your computer. AWCC should download and install automatically.

2. The installation may take up to 10 minutes.

3. After installation, launch AWCC. In the Settings window, click Windows Update and then Check for updates to get additional software.

Installing from the Dell Support website:

1. Download the latest versions of Alienware Command Center and the Alienware Gaming Headset driver.

2. Go to the folder where you saved the files.

3. Double-click the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions.

The headset automatically activates Dolby Atmos when connected to a Microsoft Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer.

1. Go to the Microsoft Store.

2. Download the Dolby Access application.

3. Connect the headset to the computer.

4. Once connected, Dolby Access will detect your device and activate Dolby Atmos for Headphones.

For best performance, keep your headset and USB-C wireless dongle firmware updated.

1. From the Drivers & Downloads section for the Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset, download the FW update tool.

2. Connect your headset to your computer using the USB cable and plug in the Alienware USB-C wireless dongle to a USB port.

3. Open the downloaded firmware update tool file.

4. Click the Upgrade button. When complete, an “Upgrade successful” message will be displayed.

5. Close the window.

NOTE: Turn off the headset before performing the update. After the update is complete, power cycle the headset before use. Do not disconnect the USB cable or shut down the computer during the update, as it may damage the headset.

1. Go to the ALIENFX menu in AWCC.

2. In the Settings tab, select the Update tab.

3. View the current firmware version and upgrade the device firmware to the latest version.

Adjust the headband and ear pads to find the optimal and most comfortable fit for your head.

When using the boom microphone, position it approximately two centimeters away from your mouth. Make sure the side with the microphone icon is facing your mouth for the best microphone quality.

Scroll the volume control wheel on the earcup to increase or decrease the volume. Scroll up for volume up, and scroll down for volume down. Each scroll changes the volume by 2%. NOTE: Bluetooth mode will have different volume steps.

Press the ANC control button on your headset to cycle through the different modes. You will hear voice prompts for each mode:

• “ANC on”

• “Transparency”

• “ANC off”

You can also toggle ANC modes and adjust transparency levels (from 1 to 5) using the AWCC software. The default ANC status is ON, and the default transparency level is 3.

Press the mute button on the left ear cup to mute or unmute the microphone. When the microphone is muted, the mute LED on the boom microphone turns red. A voice prompt (“Mic on” or “Mic off”) will be played.

These features can be configured in the Alienware Command Center (AWCC) software:

Microphone Noise Cancellation:

This setting is on by default. In AWCC, you can toggle it and enhance levels for better noise reduction. For applications like Discord, it is recommended to disable noise suppression within that application for better audio quality.

Sidetone:

This feature is off by default. You can turn it on in AWCC and set the level from 1 to 5 using the control bar. The default level is 3.

Battery Saver:

This setting is off by default. In AWCC, you can turn it on and set a threshold level from 5% to 100%. When battery saver is ON and the battery level drops below the threshold, Active Noise Cancellation will be disabled. The default threshold level is 20%.

Sleep Mode:

This setting is on by default, with a timer of 30 minutes. The headset will auto power off after 30 minutes of inactivity. In AWCC, you can change the timer (15, 30, 45, 60 minutes) or disable sleep mode entirely. If you disable sleep mode, it is advised to turn off the headset manually when not in use.

Hi-Res audio is only available with a USB wired connection. Follow these steps in Windows to enable it:

1. On the taskbar, right-click the speaker icon and click Sound settings.

2. Select More sound settings.

3. In the Playback tab, select AWPRO H Wired Game.

4. Click the Advanced tab.

5. Under Default format, select 2 channel, 24 bit, 96000 Hz (Studio Quality) from the drop-down menu.

6. Click OK.

In Bluetooth mode, you can enable Game Mode to reduce latency. Press and hold the microphone mute button for 5 seconds to toggle between gaming mode on and off. You will hear a voice prompt (“Game mode on” or “Game mode off”). The default setting is “Game mode off”.

To remove the ear pads, hold the ear pad firmly and then pull it away from the headset.

If there is no sound from your headset, try the following solutions:

• Ensure the headset is turned on and properly connected via the USB-C wireless dongle, USB connection, or Bluetooth.

• Ensure you are not using the headset with a USB cable while it is powered off.

• Make sure your audio player is playing music and that both the computer and media player volumes are on and not muted.

• Click the volume icon on your computer and adjust the volume level.

• Check the playback settings on your computer and ensure the default device is set to AWPRO H.

• Check that the headset is within range (10 m) of the USB-C wireless dongle or connected mobile device.

• Ensure the headset is connected to the USB-C wireless dongle (recommended mode) on your computer during a game.

If others cannot hear you, please check the following:

• Ensure the microphone is positioned close to your mouth.

• Ensure the microphone is not muted. The mute light on the boom microphone should be off.

• Check the recording settings on your computer and ensure the default device is set to AW Pro H.

• Check that the boom microphone is fully inserted into the microphone port.

• Ensure the headset is within range (10 m) of the USB-C wireless dongle or connected mobile device.

If you hear abnormal sounds, try these steps:

• Check if something is physically obstructing the headset.

• Adjust the volume level up and down to see if the abnormal sound changes.

• Ensure the headset is within range (10 m) of the USB-C wireless dongle or connected mobile device.

Check that the computer volume balance is set correctly:

1. Right-click the headset icon in your system.

2. Select playback devices.

3. Right-click the default playback device and select Properties.

4. Select the Levels tab and click Balance. Ensure that the L and R values are the same.

If you are experiencing a short wireless range, try the following:

• Ensure that the USB-C wireless dongle is not covered or blocked by metal or electronic objects.

• Try connecting the USB-C wireless dongle to a USB port on the side of your computer, rather than one at the back.

• Ensure that no other USB device is connected adjacent to the USB-C wireless dongle.

To reduce background noise pickup, try these solutions:

• Ensure the microphone is positioned close to your mouth.

• Ensure the mic is fully inserted, making sure the line on the mic plug is covered.

• Check that the computer microphone level is set correctly. To set the microphone level:

1. On the taskbar, right-click the speaker icon, click Sound settings, and go to More sound settings.

2. Select the Recording tab.

3. Select AWPRO H Chat.

4. Select Levels, and adjust the level bar.

Ensure that the USB cable is well inserted into both the headset and the computer.

• Ensure that the headset is turned on and connected to the computer using the USB-C wireless dongle.

• Try reconnecting the USB-C wireless dongle or restarting Alienware Command Center.

To achieve the maximum charging speed, the power delivered by the charger must be between the minimum of 2.5 W required by the radio equipment and a maximum of 2.5 W.
