How do I turn the unit ON or OFF?

Press the front panel PWR button to turn the unit on. The unit can also be turned on by pressing the front remote control power button. To turn the unit off, press and hold the front panel PWR button for 3 seconds (or 2 seconds according to page 7) or press the front remote control power button.

How do I adjust the volume?

To increase the volume, rotate the front panel PWR-VOL knob clockwise or press the VOL+ button on the front remote control. To decrease the volume, rotate the knob counter-clockwise or press the VOL- button on the remote. The volume level (0 to 40) is displayed for 3 seconds.

How do I mute the audio?

Press the MUTE button on the front panel or the PWR VOL button on the front panel or the mute button on the remote control. “MUTE” (or a speaker icon with a slash) is displayed. Press the MUTE button again, adjust the volume, or use an audio setup feature to restore the audio. Pressing the front panel PWR button also unmutes.

How do I eject a disc?

Press the Eject button (▲). Disc play stops, the disc is ejected, and the unit changes to radio operation. If the disc isn’t removed within 10 seconds, it will be automatically re-loaded. If the button is pressed again while the disc is out, it will re-load.

What do the SEEK buttons (▲/▼) do?

In Radio mode, pressing these buttons acquires the next available frequency up (▲) or down (▼). In iPod/MP3/USB/SD player mode or Satellite radio mode, they select the next (▲) or previous (▼) song or channel.

What does the Scroll Tuning Knob do?

In Radio mode, pressing the knob acquires the next or previous available frequency. In iPod/MP3/USB/SD player mode, it selects a song. In Satellite radio mode, it selects a channel.

How do I access Navigation mode?

Press the NAV button on the front panel. Alternatively, access the Main Menu and select the NAV icon.

What does the DEST button do?

This is a shortcut to access the Navigation mode and enter a desired destination.

What does the REPEAT button do?

Press to repeat the voice guidance or instructions while in Navigation mode.

How do I access the Main Menu?

Press the MENU button on the front panel or press MENU on the front panel remote control.

What is the AV IN Jack?

It is a 3.5mm jack providing an audio or video input.

How do I reset the system?

To correct a system halt or other illegal operation, use the tip of a pen to press the reset button located on the front bottom right corner of the unit.

Where is the microphone located?

The microphone is located on the left side of the unit. Speak loudly and clearly for best reception.

What does the AUDIO button do?

Press to switch between the various audio sources (e.g., Radio, CD, USB). Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn the audio off.

How do I use the FAV button?

Press FAV to access AM, FM, and Satellite Radio presets directly. If you switch modes (e.g., from Sat. Radio to DVD) and press FAV, it returns to Sat. Radio presets. Press repeatedly to cycle through preset groups (1-6, 5 presets each). To save a channel as a favorite, tune to the desired channel, access the desired preset group and location, then press and hold the location for 2 seconds.

How do I access and adjust the Equalizer (EQ)?

Press the front panel TUNE SEL knob or press SEL on the remote control to access the Equalizer Control Menu.

Use the right/left cursor buttons under “EQ SETTING” to select one of eleven preset modes: User, Flat, Jazz, Pop, Classical, Rock, News, Urban, Rave, Movie, Techno.

When “EQ SETTING” is set to USER, you can adjust Bass, Treble, Balance, Fade, and Subwoofer levels.

Select the feature (e.g., BASS) using the TUNE SEL knob or remote buttons.

Press and hold the left/right cursor buttons next to the feature name to adjust its value (shown numerically).

Bass and Treble levels cannot be changed when a preset sound (Flat, Jazz, etc.) is selected.

Press the TUNE SEL Knob to exit the equalizer menu screen.


How do I set the clock?

1. Access the Main Menu (press MENU button on unit or remote).

2. Press the SETUP icon.

3. In the SETUP menu, press the CLOCK icon.

4. In the CLOCK submenu, press the SET TIME icon.

5. A keyboard will appear. Enter the time in HH:MM format.

6. Press the AM or PM icon.

7. Press OK.

8. Optionally, press the 12/24 HOUR FORMAT icon and select the desired format.


What do the Main Menu icons do?

AM/FM: Access AM/FM TUNER mode.

CD/DVD: Access CD/DVD mode (Disc must be inserted).

SD CARD: Access SD Card contents (SD card must be inserted).

USB: Access USB thumb drive contents (USB drive must be connected).

BLUETOOTH: Access the Bluetooth menu.

CAMERA: Access signal from an external camera.

How do I enter Bluetooth mode?

Press the unit’s front panel MENU button or the MENU button on the front remote control. Then press the SETUP icon. Press the BLUETOOTH icon in the GENERAL Submenu and set the Bluetooth to ON.

How do I pair my wireless phone TO the unit? (Phone Initiates Pairing)

Note: Procedures may vary slightly by phone manufacturer.

1. On your phone, select the Bluetooth setup option.

2. Turn Bluetooth ON and set your phone’s discover mode to ON (may have a time limit).

3. Use your phone’s “add new device” feature. The unit (e.g., “Advent”) should appear.

4. Select the unit on your phone. If prompted for a passkey or pairing code on the phone, enter “1234”. (The unit’s default code is 1234. Some phones default to “0000”. Ensure the unit’s pairing code setting matches if needed).

5. A prompt to pair/bond should appear on your phone. Accept the request.

6. A prompt asking to connect to the unit (Yes/No) may appear. Select Yes.

7. Pairing should be successful. The Bluetooth main menu appearing on the unit’s screen confirms pairing.


How do I pair the unit TO my wireless phone? (Unit Initiates Pairing)

1. Press the front panel MENU button, then the BLUETOOTH icon.

2. On your phone, enable Bluetooth and set it to discoverable mode.

3. On the unit’s Bluetooth main menu, press the DEVICES icon.

4. On the DEVICES screen, press the ADD icon. The unit will start searching.

5. When your phone name appears under “Device Found”, select it and press the CONNECT icon.

6. A keypad may appear on the unit. Enter the PIN/Passkey for your phone (often “0000” or check phone manual) and press OK.

7. Your phone should display a prompt like “Pairing request from [Unit Name]… Accept? Yes/No”. Select Yes.

8. Your phone may then prompt you to enter the unit’s PIN/Passkey. Enter “1234” and confirm (ENTER, OK, etc.).

9. A “Connecting…” message appears on the unit, followed by “[Phone Name] Connected!”. Press Close.

10. The Bluetooth main menu reappears, confirming the pairing.

11. If pairing fails (e.g., “PIN code error”), a message appears. Press RETRY and repeat steps 7-9.


How do I manage incoming calls via Bluetooth?

When connected via Bluetooth, the unit mutes audio output, pauses CD play, and shows the Bluetooth call screen when a call is received. The incoming number or name appears, an audible tone sounds, and a graphic display appears.

How do I answer an incoming call?

Press the green phone icon on the screen. Speak loudly and clearly towards the microphone on the lower left side of the unit. To end the call, press the red phone icon.

How do I reject an incoming call?

Press the red phone icon on the screen. The call reverts to your wireless phone for voicemail.

How do I make an outgoing call using direct dialing?

1. Access the Bluetooth main menu (MENU > BLUETOOTH icon).

2. The Phone screen with a keypad appears.

3. Use the 0-9, */+, # buttons to input the phone number. Press ‘C’ to clear the last digit or the entire number.

4. Press the green phone icon to dial.

5. To end the call, press the red phone icon.


How do I make an outgoing call using the Contacts List?

1. Access the Bluetooth main menu (MENU > BLUETOOTH icon).

2. Press the CONTACTS icon.

The Contacts List is a copy of the contact list from your paired wireless phone. You can scroll through contacts using arrows or jump to letters using the center key board letters (A-L, M-X, Y-Z). The outer arrows scroll the list in groups of five.

How do I operate the AV2 Media Device (iPod) mode?

Connect your iPod using the adapter cable to the AV2 Interface Module. Select AV2 from the Main Menu (icon changes to iPod).

Navigation: Use the menu on the right (Playlists, Artists, Albums, Genres, Songs, Composers, Audiobooks, Podcasts) to browse content. Pressing a category lists items; pressing an item starts playback.

Playback Controls:

SCAN: Plays the first 10 seconds of each track.

3. Press the unit’s MENU button and select AV1.

How do I use the AV2 Auxiliary Audio/Video Input?

4. A list of channels appears. Channels with a lock icon (🔒) are blocked and not accessible.

5. To lock a channel, press the channel name/icon. The lock icon will appear.

6. To unlock a channel, press the channel name/icon with the lock. The lock will open/disappear, making the channel accessible.


How do I change the SIRIUS Parental Control password?

1. Go to Menu > Settings > Parental Control.

2. Press Edit Password.

3. Enter the current password (default is 0000) and press OK.

4. Enter the new four-digit password you want to use and press OK.

5. Enter the new four-digit password again to confirm and press OK.

6. The password is now changed.
