To clean your ACER P1515 projector, first, turn the product off and unplug it from the wall outlet. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning the display housing.

When connecting and disconnecting power to the external power supply unit of your ACER P1515, observe the following guidelines:

• Install the power supply unit before connecting the power cord to the AC power outlet.

• Unplug the power cord before removing the power supply unit from the projector.

• If the system has multiple sources of power, disconnect power from the system by unplugging all power cords from the power supplies.

Be sure that the power outlet you plug the power cord into is easily accessible and located as close to the equipment operator as possible. When you need to disconnect power, be sure to unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.

• Do not use the ACER P1515 projector near water.

• Do not place this product on an unstable cart, stand, or table. If the product falls, it could be seriously damaged.

• Slots and openings are provided for ventilation to ensure reliable operation and to protect it from overheating. These openings must not be blocked or covered. Do not block the openings by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface.

• This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register, or in a built-in installation unless proper ventilation is provided.

• Never push objects of any kind into this product through cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind onto or into the product.

• To avoid damage to internal components and to prevent battery leakage, do not place the product on a vibrating surface.

• Never use it under sporting, exercising, or any vibrating environment which will probably cause unexpected short current or damage to rotor devices or the lamp.

• The ACER P1515 should be operated from the type of power indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power available, consult your dealer or local power company.

• Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate this product where people will walk on the cord.

• If an extension cord is used, make sure the total ampere rating of the equipment plugged into it does not exceed the extension cord’s ampere rating. Also, ensure the total rating of all products plugged into the wall outlet does not exceed the fuse rating.

• Do not overload a power outlet, strip, or receptacle. The overall system load must not exceed 80% of the branch circuit rating. If power strips are used, the load should not exceed 80% of the power strip’s input rating.

• The ACER P1515’s AC adapter is equipped with a three-wire grounded plug that only fits in a grounded power outlet. Ensure the outlet is properly grounded before inserting the plug. The grounding pin is a safety feature.

• Use the product only with the supplied power supply cord set. If you need to replace it, ensure the new cord is a detachable type, UL listed/CSA certified, VDE approved or equivalent, and has a maximum length of 4.5 meters (15 feet).

Do not attempt to service the ACER P1515 yourself. Unplug the projector from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel when:

• The power cord or plug is damaged, cut, or frayed.

• Liquid was spilled into the product.

• The product was exposed to rain or water.

• The product has been dropped or the case has been damaged.

• The product exhibits a distinct change in performance, indicating a need for service.

• The product does not operate normally after following the operating instructions.

• Do not look into the projector’s lens when the lamp is on. The bright light may hurt your eyes.

• Turn on the projector first and then the signal sources.

• Do not place the ACER P1515 in the following environments:

– Space that is poorly ventilated or confined. At least 50cm clearance from walls and free flow of air is necessary.

– Locations where temperatures may become excessively high, such as inside a car with all windows rolled up.

– Locations with excessive humidity, dust, or cigarette smoke that may contaminate optical components.

– Locations near fire alarms.

– Locations with an ambient temperature above 40°C / 104°F.

– Locations where altitudes are higher than 10,000 feet.

• Unplug immediately if there is something wrong with your projector, such as smoke, strange noise, or odor.

• Do not face the projector lens towards the sun, as it can lead to fire.

• When switching the projector off, allow it to complete its cooling cycle before disconnecting power.

• Do not frequently turn off the main power abruptly. Wait for the fan to turn off before turning the main power off.

• Do not touch the air outlet grille and bottom plate, as they become hot.

• Clean the air filter frequently to prevent overheating.

• Do not look into the air outlet grille when the projector is operating.

• Always open the lens shutter or remove the lens cap when the projector is on.

• Do not block the projector lens with any object during operation. To temporarily turn off the lamp, press HIDE on the remote control.

• The lamp becomes extremely hot. Allow the projector to cool for approximately 45 minutes before removing the lamp for replacement.

• Do not operate lamps beyond their rated life.

• Never replace the lamp assembly or any electronic components unless the projector is unplugged.

• Change the lamp when a warning message is displayed.

• Reset the “Lamp Hour Reset” function from the “Management” menu after replacing the lamp module.

• Do not attempt to disassemble the projector. The only user-serviceable part is the lamp.

• Do not stand the projector on its end vertically.

• This product can display inverted images for ceiling mount installation. Only use an Acer ceiling mount kit and ensure it is securely installed.

To protect your hearing, follow these instructions:

• Increase the volume gradually until you can hear clearly and comfortably.

• Do not increase the volume level after your ears have adjusted.

• Do not listen to music at high volumes for extended periods.

• Do not increase the volume to block out noisy surroundings.

• Decrease the volume if you can’t hear people speaking near you.

Do:

• Turn off the product before cleaning.

• Use a soft cloth moistened with mild detergent to clean the display housing.

• Disconnect the power plug from the AC outlet if the product is not being used for a long period of time.

Don’t:

• Block the slots and openings provided for ventilation.

• Use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents to clean the unit.

• Use under the following conditions:

– In extremely hot, cold, or humid environments.

– In areas susceptible to excessive dust and dirt.

– Near any appliance that generates a strong magnetic field.

– Place in direct sunlight.

• Do not look into the projector’s lens when the lamp is on. The bright light may hurt your eyes.

• To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this product to rain or moisture.

• Please do not open or disassemble the product as this may cause electric shock.

• When changing the lamp, please allow the unit to cool down and follow all changing instructions.

• This product will detect the life of the lamp itself. Please be sure to change the lamp when it shows warning messages.

• Reset the “Lamp Hour Reset” function from the Onscreen display “Management” menu after replacing the lamp module.

• When switching the projector off, please ensure the projector completes its cooling cycle before disconnecting power.

• Turn on the projector first and then the signal sources.

• Do not use the lens cap when the projector is in operation.

• When the lamp reaches the end of its life, it will burn out and may make a loud popping sound. If this happens, the projector will not turn back on until the lamp module has been replaced.

The package for your ACER P1515 projector includes the following items:

1. Ensure that the power cord and signal cable are securely connected. The Power indicator LED will flash red.

2. Turn on the projector by pressing the “Power” button on the control panel or remote control. The Power indicator LED will turn blue.

3. Turn on your source device (computer, notebook, video player, etc.). The projector will detect your source automatically.

• If the screen displays “Lock” and “Source” icons, it means the projector is locked onto a specific source type that is not detected.

• If the screen displays “No Signal”, please make sure the signal cables are securely connected.

• If you connect to multiple sources at the same time, use the “Source” button on the control panel or remote control to switch between inputs.

1. To turn the projector off, press and hold the power button. A message will appear: “Please press the power button again to complete the shutdown process.” Press the power button again.

2. The LED power indicator will turn RED and blink rapidly as the fan(s) continue to operate for about 2 minutes to cool the system (this is part of the “Instant Resume” mode).

3. As long as the power cord is plugged in, you can turn the projector back on immediately during this 2-minute shutdown process (only with “Instant Resume” mode).

4. Once the system has finished cooling, the LED power indicator will stop blinking and turn solid red to indicate standby mode.

5. It is now safe to unplug the power cord.

• “Projector Overheated. Lamp will automatically turn off soon.”: This onscreen message indicates that the projector has overheated. The lamp will turn off, the projector will shut down, and the LED temp indicator will turn solid red. Contact your local dealer or service center.

• “Fan failed. Lamp will automatically turn off soon.”: This onscreen message indicates that the fan has failed. The lamp will turn off, the projector will shut down, and the LED temp indicator will blink. Contact your local dealer or service center.

The ACER P1515 projector is equipped with elevator feet for adjusting the image height. To raise or lower the image, use the Tilt adjusting wheel to fine-tune the display angle.

For the ACER P1515 projector (1080p series), you can consult the following table to find the optimal image sizes at a desired distance. For example, if the projector is 3 meters from the screen, good image quality is possible for image sizes between 84″ and 92″.

Zoom Ratio: 1.1x

The table below shows how to achieve a desired image size by adjusting either the position or the zoom ring on your ACER P1515 projector. For example, to obtain an image size of 50″, set the projector at a distance between 1.6 m (max zoom) and 1.8 m (min zoom) from the screen.

Zoom Ratio: 1.1x

The installation menu provides an onscreen display (OSD) for projector installation and maintenance. Use the OSD only when the message “No signal input” is displayed on the screen.

1. Turn on the projector by pressing the “Power” button on the control pad.

2. Press the “MENU” button on the remote control to launch the OSD for projector installation and maintenance.

3. The background pattern acts as a guide to adjusting settings like screen size, distance, focus, and more.

4. The Installation menu includes options such as Projection method, Auto Keystone, Manual Keystone, Language settings, and Reset.

5. Use the up and down arrow keys to select an option, the left and right arrow keys to adjust settings, and the right arrow key to enter a submenu. New settings are saved automatically when you exit.

6. Push the MENU button at any time to exit the menu and return to the Acer welcome screen.

• To open the OSD menu, press “MENU” on the remote control or control panel.

• When the OSD is displayed, use the up/down arrow keys to select an item in the main menu. After selecting an item, press the right arrow key to enter its submenu.

• Use the up/down arrow keys to select the desired item in the submenu and adjust the settings using the left/right arrow keys.

• Select the next item to be adjusted and repeat the process.

• Press “MENU” on the remote control or control panel to return to the main menu.

• To exit the OSD, press “MENU” again. The OSD menu will close, and the projector will automatically save the new settings.

The security function allows an administrator to manage projector usage.

• Security: Press the right arrow to change the setting. Select “On” to enable the security function, which requires a password to operate the projector. If “Off” is selected, the projector can be turned on without a password.

• Timeout(Min.): Once security is “On”, you can set a timeout interval from 10 to 990 minutes. When the time is up, the projector will prompt the user to enter the password again.

• User Password: Press the right arrow to set up or change the User Password. Use the number keys on the remote control to set a password between 4 and 8 characters, and press “MENU” to confirm. You can choose to request the password only when plugging in the power cord or every time the projector is turned on.

• Administrator Password: This password can be used to access all security settings. The factory default is “1234”. If you forget your administrator password, you can use the unique 6-digit “Universal Password” printed on the Security Card included with your projector.

• Lock to user startup screen: When set to “On”, users cannot change the startup screen.

If no image appears on your ACER P1515’s screen, follow these steps:

• Ensure the projector is connected as described in the “Getting Started” section of the user guide.

• Ensure none of the connector pins are bent or broken.

• Check if the projector lamp has been securely installed. Refer to the “Replacing the Lamp” section for instructions.

• Make sure you have removed the lens cap and the projector is switched on.

If you see a partial, scrolling, or incorrectly displayed image from your PC on the ACER P1515, try the following:

• Press “RESYNC” on the remote control.

• For an incorrectly displayed image on Windows:

1. Open “My Computer”, then “Control Panel”, and double-click the “Display” icon.

2. Select the “Settings” tab.

3. Verify that your display resolution setting is lower than or equal to WUXGA-RB (1920 x 1200).

4. Click the “Advanced Properties” button.

• If the problem still appears, change the monitor display settings:

1. Verify the resolution is set correctly.

2. Click the “Change” button under the “Monitor” tab.

3. Click “Show all devices”. Then, select “Standard monitor types” and choose the resolution mode you need under the “Models” box.

If the image from your ACER P1515 is out of focus, check the following:

• Make sure the lens cap has been removed.

• Adjust the focus ring on the projector lens until the image is sharp.

• Make sure the projection screen is within the required distance for the 1080p series, which is 4.9 to 32.2 feet (1.5 to 9.8 meters) from the projector.

When you play a DVD encoded in anamorphic or 16:9 aspect ratio, you may need to adjust settings on both the projector and your DVD player.

• If you play a 4:3 format DVD title, please change the format to 4:3 in the projector’s OSD.

• If the image is still stretched, you will also need to adjust the aspect ratio on your DVD player. Set up the display format to 16:9 (wide) aspect ratio on your DVD player.

• If you play a Letterbox (LBX) format DVD title, please change the format to Letterbox (LBX) in the projector’s OSD.

• Adjust the zoom lever on the top of the projector.

• Move the projector closer to or further from the screen.

• Press “MENU” on the remote control. Go to “Image -> Aspect Ratio” and try different settings. Alternatively, press the “RATIO” button on the remote control to adjust directly.

• Fan Fail: This message means the system fan is not working. The lamp will automatically turn off soon. You should contact your dealer for service.

• Projector Overheated: This message indicates the projector has exceeded its recommended operating temperature and must be allowed to cool down. The system will turn off automatically soon. Please check the following:

1. Check if the operation ambient temperature is between 5 and 40 degrees.

2. Check if the filter needs to be cleaned.

3. Check if the air inlet or outlet is blocked.

4. Check if high altitude mode is set when operating at a high altitude.

Please also check the dust filters if they are installed and clean them if they are clogged.

When the lamp on your ACER P1515 reaches the end of its useful life, it will burn out and may make a loud popping sound. If this happens, the projector will not turn on until the lamp module has been replaced. To replace the lamp, follow the procedures in the “Replacing the Lamp” section of the user guide.

Clean the dust filters on your ACER P1515 after every 1000 hours of use to prevent overheating. Follow these steps:

1. Turn the projector off. Wait for the Power LED to stop flashing, then unplug the power cord.

2. Allow the projector at least 30 minutes to cool down.

3. Pull out the dust filter.

4. To clean the dust filters, use a small vacuum cleaner designed for computers and other office equipment.

5. If the dirt is difficult to remove or the filter is broken, please contact your local dealer or service center to obtain a new filter.

The projector will show a warning message when the lamp is approaching the end of its useful life. Change the lamp as soon as possible after seeing this message. Warning: The lamp compartment is hot! Allow it to cool down for at least 30 minutes before changing the lamp.

1. Turn off the projector by pressing the Power button and disconnect the power cord.

2. Use a screwdriver to remove the screw from the lamp cover. Push up and remove the cover.

3. Remove the screw that secures the lamp module.

4. Pull out the lamp plug.

5. Lift the handle so that it stands up.

6. Pull out the lamp module by force using the handle.

To replace the lamp module, use a new lamp and reverse the above steps. After replacement, reset the “Lamp Hour Reset” function in the OSD Management menu.
