How do I make espresso with the WMF Espresso Pro?
1. Set the grind: Start with grind size 15.
2. Prepare the portafilter: Insert the second cup sieve, hang the portafilter in the grinder outlet and optionally use the funnel.
3. Weigh the coffee: Grind about 19 g of coffee with the integrated scale.
4. Tamper the coffee: Press the ground coffee with the tamper evenly, until a smooth surface is created. Then remove the funnel.
5. Insert the portafilter: Secure the portafilter in the brewing head and place two cups underneath.
6. Start the brewing process: Start the two-cup mode.
7. Check the brewing time: Keep an eye on the extraction time with the timer – 20-30 seconds is ideal.
8. Check the pressure: The pressure gauge should show between 8 and 11 bar.
9. Enjoy: Stir the espresso briefly and savour it.
What should I do if the brewing time is too long or too short?
If the brewing time was too long, adjust the grind to a slightly coarser setting. If the brewing time was too short, adjust the grind a little finer.
How do I prepare the machine for the first use?
Clean accessories and moving parts with warm soapy water.
Perform 2x double espresso brewing process without coffee powder.
Run 2x hot water programme.
Run the steam programme once.
How do I perform daily cleaning after espresso extraction?
Knock out coffee grounds.
Rinse the portafilter.
How do I clean the machine after frothing milk?
Activate 1x steam programme.
Clean the steam lance with a cleaning cloth after the end of the programme.
