The VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 comes with the following key components:

The headset modules of the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 should be positioned on specific areas of the head. For consistency, it is recommended that the default Gamma protocol is used. The modules are placed as follows:

Left Side:

1. Primary Motor Cortex (C3)

2. Precuneus

3. Posterior Cingulate Cortex

4. Cerebellum

Right Side:

5. Somatosensory Cortex

6. Dorsal Lateral Prefrontal Cortex

7. Dorsal Medial Prefrontal Cortex

8. Olfactory Bulb

The nasal applicator (NL) is connected to C3 and C4.

If the applicator does not stay on the nose, use the blue silicone sleeve. Make sure that it is used with the ribbed side. Use the ribbed side for a secure grip.

To attach the sleeve, press to widen the clip opening, and slide the sleeve on.

Adjusting the Modules:

All modules can be slid along the steel band.

Pull out the handle to unlock and slide the module to its desired position. Push the handle back to lock to the new position.

Adjusting the Side Modules:

The side module assembly can be slid for device width.

Push or pull the handle to adjust overall side strap positions.

Slide the sleeve to adjust the side modules.

To access the Graphical User Interface (GUI) on the provided smartphone via “Hotspot”, follow these steps:

1. Turn on the controller by plugging it into the power supply.

2. Power on the smartphone by holding down the power button for a few seconds.

3. Swipe down from the top and turn on the “Hotspot” feature.

4. Wait for the browser to start scanning automatically.

5. Tap on “np1” to connect to the GUI.

Some batch applications require the screen to stay on. Please download the “Keep Screen On” app to prevent the device’s screen from going to sleep.

To connect your personal device (smartphones, tablets, laptops, and PCs) to the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 Graphical User Interface (GUI), follow these instructions:

LAN Connection:

1. Make sure your personal device is connected to WiFi, then open the GUI on the smartphone using the “Hotspot” connection method.

2. In the main menu, select “Settings/Connections”.

3. Select the LAN connection.

4. Connect to the same WiFi network as your personal device by selecting the SSID (WiFi name) and entering the password.

5. Once the GUI is connected via LAN, it will display the status “Connect via WiFi using local”. Your personal device is now ready to be used as the GUI for the Neuro Pro 2.

AP (Direct Connection):

If the smartphone is connected to the GUI via LAN and you want to switch back to using the “Hotspot”, you must disconnect from LAN. To reset the controller, press and hold the push button on the side of the controller for ten seconds until you hear beeps and see flashing lights.

The Start Page is the initial screen on the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 GUI. It provides the following options:

Report last run: Repeat the last run.

Run Controller memory: Initiate a run using the configuration saved in the controller’s memory.

Create/run: Go to the batch run creation page.

Go to lib: Go to the file/data management library page.

Settings: Go to settings.

V-build: Go to the V-build creation page.

You can also access Front and Rear LED and Memory Information from this page.

The Library page on the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 allows you to manage run data. You can perform the following actions:

Select a file: The feature contains a list of stored run data. Tap on the file names. The system can store a non-accumulating total of up to 100 data sets.

Select to run the file: Tap the play icon to run the selected file.

Default file: To establish a default file for the next run, select the file and upload it by pressing the upload button. When the headset is powered on next time, it will load the uploaded file and automatically start running.

Select to view file data: Tap the file name to view its data.

The Data Information page on the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 provides a detailed view of a run’s parameters. This includes:

An illustration outlining the module identifiers and their corresponding locations.

Setting details for individual modules.

Data for each phase of the run.

User’s Notes about the run.

A button to divert to the Edit/Save page to enable data modification.

A button to delete the file permanently.

A button to select to pause the run, select to stop the run, and a settings button for individual module data.

The Real-Time Run Page on the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 displays the progress of an active session. Key features include:

Batch file name: Shows the name of the current batch file running.

Stage ON/OFF button: A pop-up window will appear to enable the disabling of a stage for running a stage within the batch file.

Run progress: Shows the run progress of the stage and time left of the run. The run button is non-functional during a run.

File status display: Displays the status of the sweep frequency when it is enabled.

On the Batch Run Creation Page of the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2, you can combine multiple stages into a single run. A total of 6 stages may be set in a batch run.

Choose a file from the dropdown menu. The list will include saved files, excluding batch files. After selecting your files, you can go to the save data page.

From the Single Run Creation Start Page on the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2, you can configure and start a session with specific parameters. Tap to choose a module for data input. Modules that are not selected will be turned off. You can access parameters for either frequency sweep, power sweep, or both. It’s important to note that only one of these two features can be active at any one time.

The V-Build Creation Page on the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 allows for advanced session customization. Key in the names of the parameters as provided by Vielight. This page enables a sweep function that will disengage any previously entered values for frequency/power sweep. Enabling the sweep function will restore these entries.

Note that cross-frequency coupling must be activated first. After activation, it can be adjusted. A diagram shows the relationship between Phase A, base frequency, and coupling frequency.

On the Module Data Entry page of the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2, you can set the following parameters for a selected module:

Time range: 0 to 99 minutes.

Setting phase synchrony: Set as A or B. Phase A is asynchronous with other modules.

Setting light wave pattern: Can be continuous or pulsed.

Frequency range: 1 to 9,999 Hz, or continuously on, and is displayed as “ON”.

Power range: 0% to 140%.

Cross-frequency coupling: Tap to activate cross-frequency coupling to the module.

The ability to input power data will be disabled when the power sweep feature is activated. You will see a display message indicating “POWER SWEEP APPLIED”.

The ability to input frequency data with the frequency sweep feature will be disabled when it is activated. You will see a display message indicating “FREQUENCY SWEEP APPLIED”.

On the Review & Save Data page of the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2, you can finalize your session parameters. To review notes, select “Load from Library” page and click on the “Information” icon. This action will direct you to the Data Information page.

Once you have reviewed the data and are satisfied, click “LINK” to complete the task. You can still make any necessary adjustments.

The VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 includes pre-set files that can be loaded as data, as references, serving as starting points for research, development and practical use. Note that while these files are available for reference, use of their data is restricted as they are intellectual properties of Vielight Inc.

Please observe the following safety advice when using the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2:

Nasal applicator: When powered on, invisible infrared light (810nm) and visible red light (633nm) will be emitted from the nasal applicator and diodes of the headset modules.

Caution: Do not stare at the lights.

Note: If you experience discomfort, stop the device and try lowering the power setting or adding another rest day in between sessions.

Most people do not experience physical discomfort while using the VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2.

For a healthy adult who wants to be proactive, it is recommended to start with the default 20 or 60 minutes, once every other day.

The time of day can be flexible. Users are advised to observe the effects on themselves and adjust the frequency of use accordingly.

Follow these steps to care for and clean your VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2:

1. To clean the nasal applicators, wipe gently with 75% alcohol or antiseptic wipes, clean gently with soap and water, or sanitize with a UV lamp.

2. To clean the controller, wipe with a soft dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.

3. Do not submerge any of the components and keep them dry. Do not use any commercial cleaning use.

4. Store in a dry and dust-free environment at temperatures between 10° C to 40° C, away from direct sunlight.

5. We do not recommend sharing devices and nasal applicators for hygiene safety reasons.

If some LED modules on your VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 do not light up, check the following:

Ensure that the run data settings have been configured in the manner intended.

Ensure that all connections are correctly and securely plugged in.

Make sure you are using the appropriate power bank for this device, such as the Vielight power bank, or consider using the power adapter.

If the issue persists, it may be due to a hardware fault. In such cases, please reach out to our customer service for assistance.

If the WiFi link on your VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 is not working, try these steps:

Ensure that the Neuro Pro 2 controller is powered on.

If you’re using a different smart device than the one supplied, follow the steps on how to connect the device.

If you have more than one NP2 controller, check for web address conflicts in the “Settings/Connection” section.

With AP (direct connection), ensure no other devices are connected via Hotspot and reset the controller by following the instructions.

Verify that your LAN or Hotspot connection is active.

If the app for your VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2 is sluggish, this is likely due to poor connectivity. Use the signal strength indicator on the main page to adjust the controller position for improved connectivity. For better performance, consider using AP mode to connect through the Hotspot.

To establish a direct connection for your VIELIGHT NEURO PRO 2, follow these steps:

For iOS (Apple) devices: Go to Personal Hotspot tab, enable “Allow Others to Join”. Change the phone’s name to “np1”.

On Personal Hotspot tab enable “Allow Others to Join” and set the password to “top@12345”. Enable “Maximize Compatibility”.

Connect the NP2 to the Hotspot.

For Android devices: On Settings app>connections>Mobile Hotspot>Enable the Hotspot, set the network name to “np1” and the password to “top@12345”. Then, download the Bonjour Browser app and use it to find “np1”.
