Installing the GUY-LOCK for Single Subset Designs Step #1 Begin by cutting your strand to the desired length. Then install the strand either around the pole or through your anchoring hardware. Next, attach your two Chicago® Grips and come-a-long to achieve the desire tension. © 2011 Preformed Line Products Company. All rights reserved. Step #2 Once the desired tension is achieved the GUY-LOCK is ready to install. First, lay the GUY-LOCK over the main down guy (not the tail portion). NOTE: The GUY-LOCK should be installed approximately 6” (15.2 cm) from the pole or hardware. 1 Step #3 Wrap a leg of the GUY-LOCK on the main down guy installing at least 2-3 pitches. PLP TIP - Ensure that the offset location or color code is facing up and in the same plane as the strand. Step #4 Next, gently squeeze the strand together at the color code location. Wrap the second leg on the tail side of the strand, wrapping toward the hardware. 2 Step #5 Install this leg completely until the rod ends are completely snapped in. Step #6 Next, remove the come-a-long and Chicago grips from the strand. Finish installing the first leg of the GUY-LOCK. Ensure that the rod ends are completely snapped in. Step #7 To complete the installation, cut the excess strand at the desired location and secure the tail to the main down guy.

Installing the GUY-LOCK for Double Subset Designs Step #1 Once the desired tension is achieved, install the first subset on the main down guy and wrap at least 2-3 pitches. NOTE: Install approximately 6” (15.2 cm) from hardware location. Step #2 Next, install the second GUY-LOCK above the first and wrap at least 2-3 pitches. Step #3 Squeeze the strand together at the cross over mark and wrap the leg of the GUY-LOCK that is on top first. Wrap this leg completely until the rod ends are snapped in. Step #4 Then wrap the second GUY-LOCK leg. NOTE: Spreading the strand loop open at the cross over location will ease the installation of the first pitch on the second GUY-LOCK subset. Step #5 Finish wrapping the second GUY-LOCK subset until the rod ends are completely installed.

Step #6 Remove the come-a-long and the Chicago grips from the strand. Finish installing both legs of the GUY-LOCK. Ensure that all rod ends are completely snapped in place. safety considerations Step #7 To complete the installation, cut the excess strand at the desired location and secure tail to the main down guy.
