What are the specifications of the ES-LV95 and ES-LV65 shavers?

FeatureSpecification
Power sourceAC 100-240V, 50-60Hz (Automatic voltage conversion)
Power consumptionApprox. 10W (when charging)
Charging time1 Hour
Shaves per charge14 times (3 minutes shave)
Weight200g (without cap)
Supplied accessoriesSelf-cleaning recharger (ES-LV95 only), Soft case

What should I do if the motor does not rotate, the shaver does not charge, or it functions for a moment and then stops?

Follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Charging Adaptor: Supply the rated voltage to the adaptor and confirm continuity. It should be approx. DC6V between the terminals at no-load. If not OK, replace the charging adaptor.

2. Check Rechargeable Battery: Check if the voltage of the rechargeable battery is more than approximately 3.6V DC between (+) and (-) terminals. If not OK, replace the rechargeable battery.

3. Check Module: Connect the rated voltage via the normal adaptor. Switch ON and OFF, check if the LCD indicator (ES-LV95) or RED LED (ES-LV65) lights up. Discharge the battery completely and check the charging current; it should be more than 600-800mA when connecting the adaptor. If soldering points are faulty, check them. Otherwise, replace the module.

4. Check Linear Motor: Connect the rated voltage via the normal adaptor. Switch ON and OFF and check if the motor rotates. (Note: After battery replacement, the shaver needs to charge for a while before the motor operates). If the motor does not rotate, replace the linear motor assembly.

What happens when the battery is taken out and replaced?

Once the battery is taken out, the shaver is RESET. After replacing the battery, the shaver must be charged for several seconds first before it can operate. It is also recommended to completely discharge and then fully charge the shaver before returning it to the customer after a service.

What should I do if the shaver’s noise is too loud, the amplitude is too small, or there are abnormal sounds?

Follow these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Outer Foil: Check for any deformation. Clean the foil and blades perfectly with hand soap, as beard chips can cause problems. If deformed, replace the outer foil or apply a drop of oil.

2. Check Driving Bars: Check for deformation in the trimmer driving bar, slit blade driving bar, and finishing blade driving bars, or ensure they are set firmly. If deformed or loose, replace the affected driving bars.

3. Check Driving Head Amplitude: Turn the switch ON and measure the amplitude by checking the pin of the driving head. It should be approx. 2.5mm. If not OK, replace the linear motor assembly.

4. Check Electric Current: Confirm if the primary electric current is normal. If not normal, replace the module.

5. Check for Linear Motor Tremble: Confirm the 6 screws (4 on top, 2 on the bottom of the linear motor) are tightened firmly and there is no tremble on the driving head or suspension. If loose, re-tighten the screws.

6. Check for Linear Motor Tremble (Sound): Hold the linear motor assembly and check if the trembling sound stops. If it stops, replace the linear motor assembly.

What if the shaver head does not float smoothly?

1. Check Float Suspension: Confirm if the float springs are assembled properly.

2. Check for Debris: Confirm if beard chips have collected around the linear motor assembly.

3. Check Grease: Confirm if grease (FLOIL G741) remains on Housing A and B where they contact the linear motor assembly.

If issues are found, repair the float springs, clean the area, or apply grease as needed.

What if the trimmer handle does not move or the shaver head does not fix even when setting the trimmer handle to the LOCK position?

Replace the linear motor assembly.

What if the OFF/ON button cannot be pressed?

1. Check Switch Lock Button: Confirm the switch lock button is in the FREE (unlocked) position. If locked, slide the switch lock button downwards to unlock.

2. Check Module: Confirm if the motor works when pushing the tact switch directly on the module. If it works, the issue might be with Housing A. If it doesn’t work, refer to the “CHECK MODULE” procedure under the “Motor does not rotate” troubleshooting section.

3. If the tact switch works but the button doesn’t, replace Housing A.

What if the shaving sensor mode does not work?

1. Confirm Mode Change: Check if the mode changes correctly and smoothly when pushing the switch button.

2. Confirm Sound Difference: Check for the sound difference between the shaving sensor mode and the normal mode.

If the mode doesn’t change or there’s no sound difference, first try replacing the foil and blade. If the issue persists, replace the linear motor assembly or the module.

What should I do if the STATUS lamp on the self-cleaning recharger (ES-LV95 only) lights out during normal operation?

1. Check if STATUS Lamp is Lit Initially: If it is lit, proceed.

2. Check Cleaning Liquid Unit: Confirm the cleaning liquid unit is set correctly. If not, attach the cleaning liquid unit properly.

3. Check Recharger Position: Confirm if the self-cleaning recharger is tilted. If it is, place the self-cleaning recharger on a horizontal surface.

4. Check Water Level: Confirm if the water in the tank is above the water feed lower limit line. If not, drain and rinse the old cleaning liquid, then pour in tap water and detergent according to instructions.

(Note: The STATUS lamp normally lights out after five seconds if checks 2 and 3 pass).

What should I do if too much cleaning liquid remains in the tray of the self-cleaning recharger (ES-LV95 only) after a cycle?

If cleaning liquid remains in the tray even after the course is completed normally:

1. Clean the drain holes as indicated in the diagram in the PDF (using something like a toothpick).

2. Push any beard trimmings down through the drain.

3. Ensure the water level in the tank is under the maximum water line.

How does the self-cleaning recharger (ES-LV95 only) operate?

The recharger has three main modes:

1. Charge:

– Duration: 0 to 60 minutes.

– Process: Charges the shaver. The LCD backlight glows during charging and turns off when complete. DRY and CLEAN lamps on the recharger are off.

2. Clean/Dry/Charge:

– Duration: Approximately 150 minutes total (Clean: 10 min, Dry: 80 min (or 170 min if temp <15°C), Charge: 60 min).

– Process:

– Cleaning (10 min): CLEAN lamps glow. Involves cycles of charging, foil/blade operation, and pumping liquid. DRY lamps are off.

– Drying (80 min): DRY lamps glow. Heater operates (except last 4 mins). CLEAN lamps are off.

– Charging (60 min): CLEAN and DRY lamps turn off. Shaver LCD backlight glows.

– Note: Mode cannot be changed once started.

3. Dry/Charge:

– Duration: Approximately 240 minutes total (Dry: 180 min, Charge: 60 min).

– Process:

– Drying (180 min): DRY lamps glow. Heater operates (except last 4 mins). CLEAN lamps are off.

– Charging (60 min): CLEAN and DRY lamps blink when complete.

– Note: Can be changed to Clean/Dry/Charge mode even after starting.

How do I remove the outer foil and inner blades for cleaning or replacement?

Remove the protective cap first. Then, remove the outer foil assembly (outer foil with outer foil frame) from the main unit. Afterward, you can remove the inner blades.

How do I remove the driving bars (trimmer, slit blade, finishing blade)?

To remove the trimmer driving bar, finishing blade driving bar, or the slit blade driving bar, press the bars outward from their seated position on the main unit’s head.
