LG DLEX3570 (02) PDF SUMMARY:
How do I operate the dryer?
- Clean the Lint Filter: If the lint filter has not already been cleaned, lift out the filter and remove the lint from the last load. This helps ensure the fastest and most efficient drying performance. Make sure to reinstall the filter, pressing down until it clicks firmly into place.
- Load the Dryer: Load the dryer with the wet laundry from the washer. If the load is extra large, divide it into smaller loads for proper performance and fabric care.
- Turn on the Dryer: Press the Power button to turn ON the dryer. The cycle LEDs will illuminate and a chime will sound.
- Select a Cycle: Turn the cycle selector knob either direction until the LED for the desired cycle is on. The preset temperature, dry level, and option settings for that cycle will be shown. Default settings for the selected cycle can now be changed if desired.
- Begin Cycle: Press the Start/Pause button to begin the cycle. The cycle can be paused at any time either by opening the door or by pressing the Start/Pause button. If the cycle is not restarted within 4 minutes of being paused, the dryer will shut off and the settings will be lost.
- End of Cycle: When the cycle is finished, the chime will sound. Immediately remove clothing from the dryer to reduce wrinkling. If Wrinkle Care is selected, the dryer will tumble briefly every few minutes to help prevent wrinkles from setting in the clothes.
How do I check the lint filter before every load?
Always make sure the lint filter is clean before starting a new load; a clogged lint filter will increase drying time. To clean, pull the lint filter straight up and roll any lint off the filter with your fingers. Push the lint filter firmly back into place. Always ensure the lint filter is properly installed before running the dryer. Running the dryer with a loose or missing lint filter will damage the dryer and articles in the dryer.
How do I sort laundry?
- Fabric Care Labels: Many articles of clothing include a fabric care label. Adjust the cycle and option selections to care for clothing according to the manufacturer’s recommendations using the chart provided.
- Grouping Similar Items: Sort clothes into loads that can be dried with the same drying cycle for best results. Different fabrics have different care requirements, and some fabrics will dry more quickly than others.
What are the fabric care label icons?
The fabric care label icons are: Tumble dry, Dry Gentle/delicate, Normal Do not tumble dry, Permanent Press/ wrinkle resistant, Do not dry (used with do not wash), Heat setting, High Low, Medium No heat/air.
How do I load the dryer?
- Check all pockets to make sure that they are empty. Items such as clips, pens, coins, and keys can damage both the dryer and clothes. Flammable objects such as lighters or matches could ignite, causing a fire.
- Never dry clothes that have been exposed to oil, gasoline, or other flammable substances. Washing clothes will not completely remove oil residues.
- Combine large and small items in the same load.
- Damp clothes will expand as they dry. Do not overload the dryer; clothes require room to tumble and dry properly.
- Close zippers, hooks, and drawstrings to prevent these items from snagging or tangling on other clothes.
What is the purpose of the power button?
Press the button to turn the dryer ON. Press again to turn the dryer OFF. Pressing the Power button during a cycle will cancel that cycle and any load settings will be lost.
What is the purpose of the cycle selector knob?
Turn this knob to select the desired cycle. Once the desired cycle has been selected, the standard presets will be shown in the display. On Manual Dry cycles, these settings can be adjusted using the cycle setting buttons anytime before starting the cycle.
What is the purpose of the start/pause button?

How do sensor dry cycles work?
Sensor Dry cycles utilize LG’s unique dual sensor system to detect and compare the moisture level in clothes and in the air and adjust the drying time as needed to ensure superior results. The dryer automatically sets the dryness level and temperature at the recommended setting for each cycle. The estimated time remaining will be shown in the display.
How do manual dry cycles work?
Use Manual Dry cycles to select a specific amount of drying time and a drying temperature. When a Manual Dry cycle is selected, the Estimated Time Remaining display shows the actual time remaining in the cycle. You can change the actual time in the cycle by pressing the More Time or Less Time buttons.
What is the energy saver option in the cotton/normal cycle?
The Energy Saver option is turned on by default in the Cotton/Normal Cycle. Turn off the Energy Saver option for a faster Normal cycle which begins with heated drying. To turn the Energy Saver default off, press and hold the Wrinkle Care button for three seconds. ON or OFF appears in the display.
What is NSF certification?
NSF International (formerly the National Sanitation Foundation), certifies that the ANTI-BACTERIAL cycle reduces 99.9% of bacteria on laundry, and none of the bacteria will carry over onto the next laundry load. The default settings for the ANTI-BACTERIAL cycle are HIGH temperature and VERY DRY. These default settings cannot be changed. Do NOT use this cycle with delicate items or fabrics.

Always clean the lint from the filter after every cycle. To clean the lint filter, open the dryer door and pull the lint filter straight up. Then:
- For everyday cleaning, roll any lint off the filter with your fingers, or
- Vacuum the lint filter.
- If the lint filter has become very dirty or clogged with fabric softener, wash the lint filter in warm, soapy water and allow it to dry thoroughly before reinstalling. NEVER operate the dryer without the lint filter in place.
When I press a button, why does my dryer beep and then nothing happens?
The Child Lock feature is turned on. To turn off Child Lock, turn the dryer on, then press and hold the button that has *Child Lock on or under it for 3 seconds.
Why does my dryer take so long to dry clothes?
Proper airflow is critical to the efficient operation of clothes dryers. A lint filter which is full of lint or clogged with fabric softener sheet residue can reduce the airflow to the point that the time required to dry clothing will be greatly increased. Another factor affecting dry time is the home exhaust system. An exhaust system which is dirty and clogged with lint, or is excessively long, needs to be professionally cleaned or repaired.
Why does my dryer start by itself every few minutes?
This is how the Wrinkle Care feature works. The dryer runs briefly every few minutes for up to 3 hours after the cycle finishes. This feature is designed to help prevent wrinkles from setting in when the dryer is not unloaded immediately after the cycle is finished.
Why does my dryer show 3 minutes when I select the Steam Fresh™ cycle?
When the Steam Fresh™ cycle is selected, the dryer displays the recommended number of garments for the cycle, not the estimated cycle time, until the cycle is started. Use the More Time or Less Time buttons to adjust the load size setting for the number of garments desired. For a large load or single bulky item use the (big) setting.
What should I check if the dryer does not function properly or does not function at all?
This dryer is equipped with an automatic error-monitoring system to detect and diagnose problems at an early stage. Check the following before calling for service if the dryer does not function properly or does not function at all.
What should I do if the flow sense™ indicator remains active after clearing the restriction in the venting?
After clearing the restriction, the Flow Sense™ system requires multiple, consecutive cycles to determine that the performance value has improved before the Flow Sense™ indicator is reset. If the Flow Sense™ indicator remains active for more than five cycles after the restriction has been cleared, call for service.
How do I open the gas valve?
Open the gas valve.
Where can I find door reversal instructions?
Door reversal instructions can be found in the owner’s manual.
What should I do if I detect a gas odor?
- Do not try to turn on any appliance.
- Do not touch any electrical switch. Do not use any phone in the building.
- Evacuate everyone from the room, building, or area.
- Immediately call the gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone and follow their instructions carefully.
- If you cannot reach the gas supplier, call the fire department.
What should I do to reduce the risks of explosion, fire, death, electric shock, burn, or injury when using the appliance?
Take basic precautions, including the following:
- Installation:
- The appliance must be installed according to the manual’s directions before being used.
- Plug the appliance into a properly rated, sized, and protected electrical circuit to avoid electrical overload.
- Follow all installation instructions to reduce the risk of serious injury or death.
- The appliance must be installed and grounded by qualified personnel in accordance with local building codes.
- Disconnect the power cord, house fuse, or circuit breaker before installation or servicing.
- Have a qualified technician move or install the appliance in another location.
- Keep packing material out of children’s reach, as it poses a suffocation hazard.
- At least two people are needed to move or install the appliance.
- This appliance is not designed for maritime use or mobile use, such as in a recreational vehicle, trailer, or aircraft.
- Store and install the appliance where it will not be exposed to freezing temperatures or the weather.
- This appliance should be placed near an electrical outlet.
- Never cut or remove the grounding prong from the power cord.
- When installing or moving the appliance, be careful not to pinch, crush, or damage the power cord.
- Do not install the appliance in a damp place.
- Destroy the carton, plastic bag, and other packing materials after unpacking the appliance to prevent children from playing with them.
- Follow all recommended industry safety procedures, including wearing long-cuffed gloves and safety glasses.
- Never try to operate this appliance if it is damaged, defective, partially disassembled, missing parts, or has damaged parts, including the cord and plug.
- Do not install a dryer with flexible plastic exhaust materials. If a flexible metal duct (similar to aluminum foil) is installed, it must be of the type that the appliance manufacturer has determined to be suitable for use with dryers. Flexible exhaust materials are known to sag, crush easily, and trap lint. These conditions will obstruct dryer airflow and increase the risk of fire.
- For garage installation, place the dryer at least 18 inches off the floor.
- AVOID using sheet metal screws or other fasteners that penetrate the duct wall, as they could trap lint and reduce the exhaust system’s efficiency. Cover all joints with duct tape.
- Use only rigid, semi-rigid, or flexible metal ducts with a 4-inch diameter inside the dryer or for venting to the outside. Using plastic ducts or other ductwork can cause a fire. During installation or use, pierced ducts can cause a fire if they sag or are otherwise compressed.
- The exhaust duct must be 4 inches (10.2 cm) in diameter without any obstructions and as short as possible. Clean old ducts before installing the new dryer.
- It is recommended to use rigid, semi-rigid, or flexible metal ducts between the dryer and the wall. Any non-rigid metal transition duct must be UL-listed. A transition duct made from other materials can increase drying time.
- Ducts are not supplied with the dryer. You must obtain the required ducts yourself. The end cap must have hinged flaps to prevent backdraft when the dryer is not running.
- The exhaust outlet for gas dryers MUST be directed to the outside.
- The dryer exhaust system must be directed to the outside of the dwelling. If the dryer exhaust outlet is not directed to the outside, fine lint and large amounts of mold will be expelled around the dryer. Lint accumulation anywhere in the home can pose health and fire hazards.
- Do not install the dryer near another heat source, such as a furnace, stove, or heating appliance.
- Keep the area around and adjacent to the exhaust outlet free from lint, dust, and dirt accumulation.
- Operation:
- Immediately repair or replace any frayed or damaged power cord. Do not use a cord with cracks or abrasion damage along its length or at either end.
- If the appliance makes a strange noise, a chemical or burning odor, or smoke, unplug it immediately and contact the LG Electronics Customer Information Center.
- Never unplug the appliance by pulling on the power cord. Always grip the plug firmly and pull it from the outlet.
- Do not use an extension cord or adapter with this appliance.
- Do not grab the power cord or touch the appliance buttons with wet hands.
- Do not modify or extend the power cord.
- If the appliance has been submerged, contact the LG Electronics Customer Information Center for guidance before resuming use.
- Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors near this or any other appliance.
- Ensure the area beneath and around your appliances is clear of combustible materials (lint, paper, rags, etc.), gasoline, chemicals, and other flammable vapors or liquids.
- This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with reduced physical, mental, or sensory capabilities, or who lack the experience or knowledge to do so, unless they have received instructions and supervision from a person responsible for their safety.
- Read all instructions before using the appliance and retain these instructions.
- Use the appliance only for its intended purpose.
- Do not force the door and do not put your weight on the appliance door.
- Do not allow children to play on, in, or with the appliance. Close supervision is necessary when the appliance is operating near children.
- Do not alter the controls.
- In the event of a gas leak (propane, natural gas, etc.), do not operate this or any other appliance. Immediately open a window or door to ventilate the area.
- In certain conditions, hydrogen gas may form in a hot water system that has not been used for two weeks or more. HYDROGEN IS AN EXPLOSIVE GAS. If the hot water system has not been used for such a period, open all hot water faucets and let the water flow for several minutes before using the appliance. This procedure will release any accumulated hydrogen. As hydrogen is a flammable gas, do not smoke during this time, and do not use any open flame.
- Secure the drain hose tightly.
- Do not place oily or greasy items, candles, or flammable materials on top of the appliance.
- Do not use fabric softener or static elimination products unless recommended by the manufacturer of the softener or product.
- Do not put your hands into the appliance if the drum is moving.
