To attach the stand to your LG 42LB551V-ZC TV, please follow these steps. Note that the image shown in the manual may differ from your specific TV model.

1. Place the screen facing down on a cushioned table or flat surface to protect it from scratches.

2. Assemble the stand by attaching the A Stand Base to the B Stand Base.

3. Align the assembled stand with the mounting point on the back of the TV.

4. Insert and tighten the provided screws to secure the stand to the TV. For the 42-inch LB55 series model, you will use four M4 x L14 screws (labeled as 4EA).

Connect your LG 42LB551V-ZC TV to a wall antenna socket using an RF cable (75 Ω). The antenna cable and converter are not supplied.

Notes:

• If you need to use more than 2 TVs, use a signal splitter.

• If the image quality is poor, install a signal amplifier to improve it.

• If the image quality is poor with an antenna connected, try to realign the antenna in the correct direction.

• Supported DTV Audio formats are MPEG, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and HE-AAC.

To connect a satellite dish to your LG 42LB551V-ZC (satellite models only), use a satellite RF cable (75 Ω) to connect the satellite dish to the satellite socket on the TV, which is labeled “LNB Satellite IN”. The RF cable is not provided.

You can transmit video and audio signals from an external device to your LG 42LB551V-ZC TV using a Euro Scart cable. Connect the external device and the TV with the Euro Scart cable as shown in the manual diagrams. Any Euro Scart cable used must be signal shielded.

The output type from the AV1 (TV Out) port depends on the current input mode:

To connect various external devices to your LG 42LB551V-ZC TV for the best picture and audio quality, use the appropriate cables. Available external devices include HD receivers, DVD players, VCRs, audio systems, USB storage devices, PCs, and gaming devices.

• General Advice:

• Connect external devices regardless of the order of the TV ports.

• Refer to each external device’s manual for specific operating instructions.

• If you connect a gaming device, use the cable supplied with it.

• For PC mode, if noise is present, try changing the PC output to another resolution, changing the refresh rate, or adjusting the brightness and contrast in the TV’s PICTURE menu until the picture is clear. Some PC resolution settings may not work properly depending on the graphics card.

• Connections:

• HDMI: For the best quality, connect the external device and the TV with an HDMI cable. This is used for devices like DVD/Blu-Ray players, HD Cable Boxes, HD STB, or PCs.

• USB: Connect a USB storage device to the USB IN port.

• Component: Connect a device like a DVD/Blu-Ray player using component cables (Y, PB, PR) and corresponding audio cables (L/R).

• Composite (AV): Connect a device like a VCR or DVD player using composite video (Yellow) and audio (Red/White) cables.

• Optical Digital Audio Out: Connect to a Digital Audio System for high-quality sound.

• Headphone: A headphone jack is available for private listening.

The Joystick button, located below the TV screen, allows you to operate the TV functions by pressing or moving it up, down, left, or right.

Basic Functions:

• Power On: When the TV is off, press the joystick button once and release it.

• Power Off: When the TV is on, press and hold the joystick button for a few seconds and release. If the Menu is on-screen, this action will exit the menu.

• Volume Control: Move the joystick left or right to adjust the volume.

• Programmes Control: Move the joystick up or down to scroll through saved programmes.

Adjusting the Menu:

When the TV is on, press the joystick button once to bring up the menu. You can then adjust menu items by moving the joystick.

• TV off: Turns the power off.

• Settings: Accesses the main menu.

• Close: Clears on-screen displays and returns to TV viewing.

• Input List: Changes the input source.

To prevent your LG 42LB551V-ZC from being scratched or damaged and to ensure safe transportation, please follow this advice:

• Always avoid touching the screen, as this may result in damage.

• It is recommended to move the TV in the box or packing material it originally came in.

• Before moving or lifting the TV, disconnect the power cord and all cables.

• When holding the TV, the screen should face away from you to avoid damage.

• Hold the top and bottom of the TV frame firmly. Do not hold the transparent part, speaker, or speaker grill area.

2. Leave a 10 cm (minimum) space from the wall for proper ventilation.

3. Connect the power cord to a wall outlet.

Securing the TV to a wall (This feature may not be available on all models):

1. Insert and tighten the eye-bolts, or TV brackets and bolts, on the back of the TV. If there are already bolts in the eye-bolt position, remove them first.

2. Mount the wall brackets with the bolts to the wall. Match the location of the wall bracket and the eye-bolts on the rear of the TV.

3. Connect the eye-bolts and wall brackets tightly with a sturdy rope. Ensure the rope is kept horizontal with the flat surface.

Important Notes:

• Do not place the TV near or on sources of heat.

• Ensure children do not climb on or hang on the TV.

• Use a platform or cabinet that is strong and large enough to support the TV securely.

• Brackets, bolts, and ropes are not provided. You can obtain additional accessories from your local dealer.

LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer. Attach an optional wall mount bracket to the rear of the TV carefully and install it on a solid wall perpendicular to the floor.

• Disconnect the power first before moving or installing the TV.

• Use an authorized LG wall mount. Do not over-tighten the screws, as this may cause damage and void your warranty.

• Use screws and wall mounts that meet the VESA standard. The wall mount kit is not provided but can be purchased separately.

For the LG 42LB551V-ZC (42LB55** model), the VESA standard is 400 x 400 mm, and it requires 4 standard M6 screws. The LSW440B or MSW240 wall mount brackets are compatible.

For this specific model, you may need to use the provided Wall Mount Spacers for installation.

The remote control for the LG 42LB551V-ZC (LB55** models) has the following button functions:

You can manage audio settings and select different speaker outputs on your LG 42LB551V-ZC.

To use the TV speaker:

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → TV Speaker. Sound will be output through the TV’s internal speakers.

To use an External Speaker (Optical):

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → External Speaker (Optical). Sound is output through a speaker connected to the optical port. SimpLink is supported.

To use Digital Sound Out:

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → External Speaker (Optical) → Digital Sound Out. This allows you to set up the Digital Sound Out format. The output format (PCM or Dolby Digital) will depend on the audio input type.

To use a Headphone:

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → Sound Out → Headphone. Sound is output through the headphone port.

To synchronize audio and video (AV Sync Adjust):

Go to SETTINGS → AUDIO → AV Sync. Adjust. If video and audio do not match, you can turn this feature ON to adjust the sound output to the screen image.

SIMPLINK allows you to control and manage various multimedia devices with your TV remote via the SIMPLINK menu. This function is only compatible with devices that have the SIMPLINK logo.

1. Connect the TV’s HDMI IN terminal to the SIMPLINK device’s HDMI output terminal using a high-speed HDMI® cable (with CEC feature).

2. Select INPUT(OPTION) → SIMPLINK.

3. In the SIMPLINK Setting window, set the SIMPLINK function to ON.

4. In the SIMPLINK menu window, select the device you want to control.

SIMPLINK Function Descriptions:

• Direct Play: Plays the multimedia device on the TV instantly.

• Select multimedia device: Selects the desired device to control from the TV screen.

• Disc playback: Manages the multimedia device with the TV remote.

• Power off all devices: When you power off the TV, all connected devices are turned off.

• Sync Power on: When the SIMPLINK-connected device starts to play, the TV will automatically turn on.

• Speaker: Select the speaker on either the home theatre unit or the TV.

You can manage your TV’s password and perform a factory reset through the settings menu.

To set a password:

Go to SETTINGS → LOCK → Set Password. This allows you to set or change the TV password. The initial password is set to ‘0000’.

To perform a Factory Reset:

Go to SETTINGS → OPTION → Factory Reset. All stored information will be deleted and TV settings will be reset. The TV will turn itself off and back on with all settings reset. Do not turn off the power during this initialization process.

To safely remove a USB storage device:

1. Press Q.MENU on your remote.

2. Select “USB Device”.

3. Select the USB storage device you want to remove.

4. When you see a message that the USB device has been removed, you can separate the device from the TV.

Once a USB device has been selected for removal, it can no longer be read. To use it again, you must remove the device and then re-connect it.

Clean your TV regularly to keep the best performance and extend its lifespan. First, make sure to turn the power off and disconnect the power cord and all other cables.

Screen, frame, cabinet and stand:

• To remove dust or light dirt, wipe the surface with a dry, clean, and soft cloth.

• To remove major dirt, wipe the surface with a soft cloth dampened in clean water or a diluted mild detergent. Then wipe immediately with a dry cloth.

• Avoid touching the screen at all times, as this may result in damage.

• Do not push, rub, or hit the screen surface with your fingernail or a sharp object.

Power cord:

Remove the accumulated dust or dirt on the power cord regularly.

If you are unable to control your TV with the remote, try the following solutions:

• Check the remote control sensor on the product and try again.

• Check if there is any obstacle between the product and the remote control.

• Check if the batteries are still working and are properly installed (positive to positive, negative to negative).

If there is no image or sound, please check the following:

• Check if the product is turned on.

• Check if the power cord is connected to a wall outlet.

If your TV turns off suddenly, check these settings:
