Step 1. Place the base flat on the floor.
Step 2. Place the base pipe ring over the hole in the base. With a twisting motion, insert the end of the large diameter pipe into the hole in the Base. Turning the pipe while pushing will ensure the pipe is fully seated in the Base.
Step 3. For height adjustment: loosen the Height Adjustment Nut, raise or lower the Extension Pipe to the desired height, then tighten the Height Adjustment Nut.
How do I attach the head assembly to the LASKO 1889 fan?
Step 1. Place the Head Assembly with its Collar onto the Extension Pipe.
Step 2. Holding the Extension Pipe firmly, twist the Head Assembly downward until it is seated on the Extension Pipe.
CAUTION: When making a height adjustment after the head assembly is attached, ALWAYS support the extension pipe with one hand, as loosening the height adjustment nut may otherwise cause a rapid fall of the extension pipe and head assembly.
How do I assemble the grill and blade on the LASKO 1889 fan?
Step 1. Tilt the Head Assembly back and place the Rear Grill on the Motor.
Step 2. Align the tab of the plastic Rear Grill with the groove on top of the front Motor cover.
Step 3. Fully seat the Rear Grill and secure it with the Plastic Nut by turning clockwise.
Step 4. Slide the Blade onto the Motor Shaft, aligning the groove on the blade hub with the Pin on the motor shaft.
Step 5. To secure the Blade, screw the Spinner onto the Shaft Counter-Clockwise until it is tight on the Blade hub.
Step 6. With the fan head in an upright position, align the Ornament of the Front Grill so it is horizontal and right side up.
Step 7. Starting with the top of the grill and working down, insert the Snaps on the Rear Grill through the Slots in the Front Grill.
How do I operate the LASKO 1889 fan using the manual controls?
Step 1. Plug the cord set into a 120 V~ outlet. Be sure that the plug fits tightly into the outlet. When plugs fit loosely into receptacles, they may slip partially or completely out of the receptacle with only the slight movement of the attached cord. Receptacles in this condition may overheat and pose a serious fire hazard; if covered by a curtain or drape, the fire hazard is even greater.
Step 2. Apply power to the Fan by pushing the Power Button (power symbol).

Step 4. To make the fan head move from side to side, push down the oscillation knob on the motor housing. To make the fan head stationary, pull the oscillation knob up.
