When using your GTECH AIRRAM AR52, please observe the following personal safety precautions:

• Store the appliance indoors in a dry place, out of the reach of children.

• Always use the appliance responsibly. It can be used by children aged 8 and above and persons with reduced capabilities if they have been given supervision or instruction.

• Do not let children play with the appliance; supervise children using or maintaining it.

• Use only manufacturer’s recommended attachments as described in the manual. Misuse of other accessories may present a risk of personal injury.

• Take extra care when cleaning stairs.

• Keep the appliance and accessories away from hot surfaces.

• Do not block the appliance’s openings or hinder air flow. Keep openings free of objects like dust, lint, clothing, and fingers.

• Particularly keep hair away from openings and moving parts.

Please follow these electrical safety rules for your GTECH AIRRAM AR52:

• Only use batteries and chargers supplied by Gtech.

• Never modify the charger in any way.

• The charger is designed for a specific voltage. Always check that the mains voltage is the same as that stated on the rating plate.

• A charger suitable for one type of battery pack may create a fire risk if used with another. Never use the charger with another appliance or attempt to charge this product with another charger.

• Before use, check the charger cord for signs of damage or ageing. A damaged or entangled cord increases the risk of fire and electric shock.

• Do not abuse the charger cord. Never carry it by the cord or pull the cord to disconnect from a socket; grasp the plug and pull.

• Don’t wrap the cord around the charger when storing.

• Keep the charger cord away from hot surfaces and sharp edges.

• The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged, the charger should be discarded and replaced.

• Do not handle the charger or the appliance with wet hands.

• Do not store or charge the appliance outdoors.

• The charger must be removed from the socket before removing the battery, cleaning, or maintaining the appliance.

The GTECH AIRRAM AR52 includes Li-Ion batteries. Please follow these safety instructions:

• Do not incinerate batteries or expose them to high temperatures, as they may explode.

• Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns. In an emergency, contact professional help immediately.

• Leaks from battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. If liquid gets on the skin, wash immediately with soap and water. If it gets in the eyes, flush them with clean water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention. Wear gloves to handle the battery and dispose of it according to local regulations.

• Shorting the battery terminals may cause burns or fire.

• When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that could make a connection between terminals.

• Store the battery away from any liquids and chemicals that may cause damage.

• Store the battery in clean, dry conditions, within a recommended temperature range of 0-25°C.

• Do not store the battery in areas with temperatures above 25°C, near a heat source, or in direct sunlight.

• When disposing of the appliance, remove the battery and dispose of it safely in accordance with local regulations.

The GTECH AIRRAM AR52 is designed for the following purposes:

• It is intended for domestic dry vacuum cleaning only.

• Do not pick up liquids or use it on wet surfaces.

• Do not pick up anything flammable, burning, or smoking.

• Use only as described in the operating manual.

• Do not use on concrete, tarmacadam, or other rough surfaces.

• The brush bar may damage certain floor surfaces. Before vacuuming, check the flooring manufacturer’s recommended cleaning instructions.

• Care should be taken on delicate fabrics, upholstery, loose-weave carpets, or where there are loose threads. It’s advised to test on an inconspicuous area first.

• While designed for a wide variety of floor surfaces, delicate loose-pile rugs, tasselled rug edges, or damaged carpets with exposed threads may not be suitable for cleaning with a rotary brush.

• The product has a constantly rotating brush bar. Never leave the cleaning head in one spot for an extended period as this may damage the floor surface.

• For hard flooring, check that the area is free of any hard debris or objects that could be caught and damage the floor.

The GTECH AIRRAM AR52 box contains the following items:

1. Head full assembly

2. Lower handle

3. Upper handle

4. Battery

5. Charging stand

6. Hair removal tool

7. Spare edge brushes

Follow these steps to assemble your GTECH AIRRAM AR52:

1. Insert the upper handle into the lower handle. It will slide down and click into place.

2. Locate the handle onto the steering pivot on the head. Push the handle down until it clicks securely into place.

3. Push the battery into the head until it clicks into place.

4. The upper handle can be set to a range of height positions. Press the button and slide the handle up or down until it locks into place at the required height.

The handle on the GTECH AIRRAM AR52 can be lowered for storage and raised for use. To adjust it, press the button on the handle and raise or lower it until it locks into the desired position.

To remove the battery from your GTECH AIRRAM AR52, press the release button on the battery and pull it to remove.

To disassemble the GTECH AIRRAM AR52 handles:

1. To remove the upper handle, press the button and use a suitable tool to press in the latch. Then, pull the handle upwards to remove it.

2. To remove the entire handle assembly from the head, press the button and pull the handle away from the head.

1. Place your foot on the side of the head and pull the handle back to recline the vacuum for use.

2. The power button is located on the left-hand side of the head. Press the power button with your foot to turn the product on.

3. Press the power button again with your foot to turn the product off.

The headlights will illuminate when the product is switched on.

Follow these steps to empty the bin:

1. Pull the bin handle to lift the bin out of the product.

2. Hold the bin over a rubbish bin and slide the lever to open the bin door and empty the dirt.

3. Pull the lever fully back.

4. Close the bin door.

5. Fit the bin back into the product. Never use the GTECH AIRRAM AR52 without the bin and filter fitted.

The GTECH AIRRAM AR52 has a filter regeneration function to maintain performance. This function will operate automatically when the product is switched off after more than 2 minutes of continuous use. During this process, the headlights will appear pink.

To activate filter regeneration manually during use, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds. When the filter regeneration operates, you will hear a vibrating noise for 3 seconds.

When the GTECH AIRRAM AR52 is in use, the headlights will be on. When there is no power left, the headlights will flash red, indicating that the battery needs recharging.

1. The charging stand cord is stored in the base. Pull the cord out to the required length from either side of the unit.

2. Plug the charging stand into a wall socket.

3. Place the product on the charging stand.

The battery can be charged from flat in 3 hours. While charging, the headlights will progressively pulse until all 4 sections are white. When the battery is fully charged, the headlights will flash 3 times and then turn off. To optimize battery life, switch off the charging stand at the wall socket when the battery is fully charged.

The front LED lights on the GTECH AIRRAM AR52 indicate the battery level:

• Battery level 0% – 10%: One solid light segment.

• Battery level 10% – 40%: One solid light segment and one pulsing segment.

• Battery level 40% – 70%: Two solid light segments and one pulsing segment.

• Battery level 70% – 98%: Three solid light segments and one pulsing segment.

• Battery level 98% – 100%: Four solid light segments.

If the brush bar jams during use, the GTECH AIRRAM AR52 will stop and the headlights will appear red. You will need to clean the brush bar and remove any blockage.

The product will not re-start until the red lights go out, which takes 5 seconds. After waiting, press the power button with your foot to turn the product on. If the problem persists, follow the troubleshooting instructions.

1. Before checking for a blockage, switch off the GTECH AIRRAM AR52 and remove the battery.

2. Press the button on the side of the head to release and eject the brush bar.

3. The brush bar can be removed from the head.

4. For a more thorough cleaning, the brush bar can be removed from its end cap.

5. To remove hair, run the supplied hair removal tool down the groove in the brush bar to cut the hair, then use the comb on the tool to remove it.

6. While the brush bar is removed, take the opportunity to remove any hair from the brush bar housing comb as indicated.

7. To reassemble, match the end of the brush bar to the end cap.

8. Push the brush bar back into the product until it clicks into place. Check that the brush bar is engaged onto the drive spindle.

9. Replace the battery. Never operate the product without the brush bar in place.

1. Before cleaning or removing the edge brushes, switch off the GTECH AIRRAM AR52 and remove the battery.

2. Carefully insert a small flat-bladed screwdriver or similar tool into the gap around the edge brush.

3. Use the tool to push the edge brush up and away from the housing to remove it.

4. To re-fit, align the brush onto the drive spindle and press the brush until it clicks into place.

5. The edge brushes are handed. Note to match the “L“ and “R” markings on the brush and the housing.

While the filter regeneration function helps maintain performance, you may need to service the filter. Follow these steps:

1. Holding the product with one hand, pull the bin handle and lift the bin out of the product.

2. Press the 2 latches on the bin and lift off the bin lid.

3. Remove the filter from the dust bin.

4. Wash the filter under a tap. Recommended water temperature is 40°C. Do not use detergent or soaps.

5. Let the filter dry completely before reinserting it into the product.

6. Fit the filter back into the dust bin.

7. To replace the lid, locate the 2 tabs at the front of the lid into the bin and then push down the lid until it clicks into place.

Important: Never use the GTECH AIRRAM AR52 without the filter fitted, as you could damage the motor. Never use the product without the bin and filter fitted.

Your GTECH AIRRAM AR52 does not need much maintenance. Follow these tips:

• Keep the filters clean.

• Keep the brush bar tangle-free.

• Charge the battery as needed.

• If the vacuum gets dirty, wipe it with a dry cloth, including under the bin.

• To maintain optimum battery life, store the battery in clean, dry conditions within a recommended temperature range of 0 – 25°C. Do not store the battery in areas of high temperature (above 25°C) or near heat sources/direct sunlight.

• The product can be stored on the charging stand. When the battery is fully charged, switch the charging stand off at the wall socket to optimize battery life.

• If storing the product for long periods, it is recommended to fully charge the battery before storage to help maintain its condition and life.

When your GTECH AIRRAM AR52 has reached the end of its life, both the vacuum and its Li-Ion battery should not be disposed of with general household waste. The battery should be removed from the product, and both components should be disposed of separately at a recognized recycling centre. Recycling electrical products and batteries is free at your local recycling centre. You can find your nearest centre by contacting your local council or civic amenity site.
