Step 1. Recharge the batteries for at least 16 hours before use to ensure maximum charge capacity. This is done by leaving the unit plugged into an AC outlet. The unit charges in both the ON and OFF positions.

Step 2. With the unit off and unplugged, connect your computer, monitor, and externally powered data storage devices into the battery power supplied outlets. Plug peripheral equipment like printers, scanners, or speakers into the full-time surge protection outlets.

Step 3. Do not plug laser printers, paper shredders, copiers, space heaters, vacuums, or other large electrical devices into the UPS as they may overload and damage the unit.

Step 4. To protect a network connection, connect a network cable from the wall jack to the IN jack of the UPS, then connect another network cable from the OUT jack of the UPS to the network device.

Step 5. Plug the UPS into a 2 pole, 3 wire grounding wall outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a fuse or circuit breaker and does not service equipment with large electrical demands.

Step 6. Press the power switch to turn the unit on. The power on indicator light will illuminate and the unit will beep once.

Step 7. If an overload is detected, an audible alarm will sound and the unit will emit one long beep. Turn the UPS off and unplug at least one piece of equipment from the battery outlets. Wait 10 seconds, ensure the circuit breaker is depressed, and turn the unit back on.

Step 1. Turn off and unplug all connected equipment.

Step 2. Turn the UPS off and unplug it from the AC power source.

Step 3. Turn the UPS upside down.

Step 4. Remove the retaining screw.

Step 5. Slide the battery compartment cover (front panel) completely off of the unit.

Step 6. Remove the batteries from the compartment.

Step 7. Disconnect the battery wires from the batteries.

Step 8. Install the replacement batteries by connecting the red wire and black wire to the same color wires from the battery pack.

Step 9. Put the batteries back into the compartment.

Step 10. Slide the battery compartment cover back on and tighten the retaining screw.

Step 11. Recharge the UPS for 8 to 16 hours to fully charge the battery.

Circuit breaker is projecting from the side: This is caused by an overload. Turn the UPS off and unplug at least one piece of equipment. Wait 10 seconds, reset the breaker by depressing the button, and turn the unit back on.

UPS does not perform expected runtime: The battery may not be fully charged. Recharge the battery by leaving the unit plugged in. If the battery is worn out, it may need to be replaced.

The UPS will not turn on: Ensure the unit is connected to a 110/120v 60Hz outlet. If the on/off switch was toggled too quickly, turn the unit off, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on. Check for mechanical problems or a worn-out battery.

PowerPanel Personal Edition is inactive: Check that the USB cable is connected to an open USB port on the back of the computer. Use the cable that came with the unit. If it is connected to the wrong port, move it to a different USB port. If the unit is not providing battery power, shutdown the computer, turn off the UPS, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on.
