The ATOTO A6 has several key parts and functions:

(1) Built-in Mic: The built-in microphone is for Bluetooth calling and voice command. An optional external microphone is also available but is generally not needed. It is suggested to mount the external microphone near the driver.

(2) Touch buttons:

• Touch the power icon once to mute the system sound. Press and hold it for 3 seconds to power off the unit.

• Touch the back arrow icon to go back to the previous screen or to exit an app.

• Touch the volume icons to adjust the volume up or down.

Note: The touch button assignment may vary on different models. For example, some models have song previous or next buttons.

(3) Reset button: This button is accessed by inserting a paper clip into the small hole. Resetting will cause a loss of user-selected system settings. The system may be reset if the product fails to work properly or if there is an operation problem.

(4) Micro SD slot: With its exposed contacts facing to the right, insert the micro SD card deep enough until it locks. To eject it, push it deeper until it unlocks.

(5) Display touchscreen: The touchscreen is capacitive with multi-touch function. Do not use pointed objects to operate it or push the touchscreen with force.

How do I connect my iPhone to the ATOTO A6 using the Easy-Connect app?

For iPhones, the Easy-Connect app on the ATOTO A6 only supports WiFi wireless connection. Operation is performed on the iPhone only, not on the unit’s screen.

1. Share your iPhone’s WiFi hotspot with the ATOTO A6.

2. Enable the ATOTO A6 WiFi connection via the phone.

3. Set up iPhone AirPlay to mirror as follows:

• Touch “AirPlay” to access mirror settings.

• Enable “EC-Mirror-Gv”.

How do I program the steering wheel keys for my ATOTO A6?

To program the steering wheel controls on your ATOTO A6, follow these steps. The programming is based on resistance analog signal input.

Step 1: Access the product’s steering wheel setting menu: Settings > device > default settings > steering wheel program.

Step 2: Press and hold the key on the product (on-screen), and simultaneously press and hold the corresponding key on your car’s steering wheel. Continue holding until the product key stops flashing and a triangle appears near the upper left on the screen.

Step 3: Program all keys in this manner. After all keys are programmed, press “save”. If some keys are not successfully programmed, press “reset” to clear and start again at Step 1.


How can I update the system software on my ATOTO A6?

Before updating your ATOTO A6, ensure the unit is connected to the internet and has a strong signal.

1. In the “About device” settings, touch “System update”.

2. Touch “check for update” to see if the firmware is up to date. If not, the latest firmware (OS & MCU) can be detected, downloaded, and installed.

3. The OS firmware will update first, which takes a few minutes. After finishing, the unit will restart automatically.

4. About 10 seconds after the OS update is complete, the system will detect the current MCU firmware. If an update is needed, an MCU update dialogue will pop up. After the MCU is completed, the system will restart again.

Warning: During updating, do not switch off the vehicle’s engine or turn off the unit’s power. The unit will be damaged if power is shut off during an update process. Do not operate the unit during an update to avoid the risk of damage.


What is the troubleshooting guide for my ATOTO A6?

No sound. The speaker negative wire lead is connected to the metal parts of the car’s body. / The system sound is mute or the car comes with an amplifier that is not correctly connected. Reconnect the speaker negative wire lead to the power cable negative speaker wire of the unit. / Switch on the system sound. If the car has an amplifier, provide details for support.
There are no radio stations. The radio antenna is not connected, or the active radio antenna is not powered, or use TA to search FM or AM stations. Check the radio antenna connection, or connect the active radio antenna wire to auto-ANT of the power harness, or switch off TA function and search the stations again.
Radio station is noisy. The radio signal is interfered by the same frequency from other device. Stop the device and try again.
The phone’s Bluetooth can’t be connected to the product. The phone is not compatible to the unit or the communication between the two Bluetooth goes wrong. Email the phone exact model number for support, or switch on or off the phone and the product Bluetooth to try the connection again and also make sure the phone Bluetooth is set to visible status.
Problem with Bluetooth phonebook download. Access to the smartphone’s phonebook is denied accidently by incorrect operation. Enable access to the smartphone’s phonebook again by reconnection.
Bluetooth music can’t be streamed. The smartphone’s music player is not opened, or the Bluetooth and WiFi hotspot is connected at the same time and sometimes they both send same frequency, which will interfere each other. Open the smartphone’s music player or reconnect both devices and try again.
Problems with GPS and the map cannot run. Wrong connection steps damaged the GPS antenna. / The GPS signal is interfered with other device. / Wrong GPS antenna placement causes GPS signal reception problem. / The GPS signal is weak because of the tall buildings. Change GPS antenna (Connect power cable and then connect the GPS antenna). / Stop the device interference. / Place the GPS antenna on the suggested place, such as A pillar or dashboard near windshield. / Move the car to an unobstructed open place.
The WiFi connection is in saved status and not connected. The unit is not detecting correct MAC address right now. Reset or restart the unit to detect again.
Download speed is slower than normal even if the WiFi is well connected. The WiFi signal goes weak at this moment or some other apps are consuming huge data now or the system network meet a problem. Reconnect WiFi or reset or restart the unit or change another location to try the mobile network.
For every time start-up, it takes about 20 seconds not 2 seconds. Wrong power harness connection. Check the power harness connection, especially the port B+, ACC and GND.
The product screen flashes and then goes blank, can’t start any more. The connection problem, which could be that the ACC wire is not connected to ignition wire. Check to see whether the ACC wire is correctly connected.
The touch screen is cracked or broken. The screen is pushed hard while in installation. Turn to an ATOTO dealer or email support for a replacement screen.
An app found in app store but can’t be installed, it shows device not compatible. The app has two versions: phone version can’t be installed in tablet version. Find tablet version for the apps.
The audio or video file can’t be played by the built-in player. But can be played by MX player. The formats are not compatible with the unit. Find another player in the app store that can play the formats. ATOTO built-in player can only play free copyright files.
The screen image can’t be shifted when the vehicle reverses. The signal wire for reverse light status is not connected, or the rear view camera is not compatible with the unit. The camera signal wire must be connected to the back car wire of the power harness. If not compatible, it is recommended that an ATOTO rear view camera be used (Sold separately).
The rear camera image is abnormal and reversed from right to left. The rear view camera is not compatible with the product. Switch on or off the “image reversed for rear camera” in default setting of system settings to change image direction.
The Easy-Connect app cannot go to next step while making connection. The USB debug is not enabled or the drive mode APK is not installed successfully. Enable USB debug in Developer settings and confirm the drive mode APK installation in the pop up the dialogue box.
There is no sound from the speakers while in Bluetooth call. The hands-free call is mute or the listening position is not in center in the sound setting or the speaker wire is incorrectly connected, especially the front speaker wires. Switch on Bluetooth call in sound setting, or adjust the listening position to the center in sound setting or double check the speaker wire connection and make sure the front speaker wires are connected to the front wire of the power harness.
The sound of some speakers is lower than normal or sounds insufficient. the listening position is not in center or the speaker wire is incorrectly connected, or the vehicle has an amplifier, the amplifier sound is obtained from RCA audio out (the voltage is 2V), which can’t power the amplifier within its endurable range. Adjust the listening position to the center in sound setting or double check the speaker wire connection, or the amplifier sound must be obtained from the speaker wire of power harness. The line out converter must be applied.
The installation kit, especially frame, does not fit the product and the dashboard. Different vehicles may require different size of frame and different adaptors. Check the car make, model, year and its specification on Google and find the corresponding installation kit, or turn to support for help.
The app and its data can’t be moved to the external micro SD. The Android 6.0 or higher version has this function to move its app and data to external SD, which could cause the system instability. ATOTO divides all the built-in flash into one disk, which can install apps and store its data. ATOTO also provides built-in 32G flash as an option for users who needs more space.
The preinstalled map doesn’t work when the network is not enabled. The offline map data has not been downloaded. After the WiFi connection is enabled, go to the map setting menu on the map and choose the right geographical to download.
I can’t use maps other than the preinstalled Google maps. The map may need to be purchased before using. A6 series supports all the maps downloaded from Google play store. Some maps are free, such as Google map and HereWeGo. Some maps need to be purchased before using after the trial days.
There is no front camera. ATOTO doesn’t provide front camera accessories standard with its product. There are two ways to obtain front cameras: 1-ATOTO USB dashboard camera (Sold separately) 2-Aux video-in from the back RCA, the camera must work separately from the unit and only display the video image via the unit aux app.
The micro SD can’t be inserted. User may have the card turned around to the wrong side to insert it into the micro SD product slot, or needs to push the card in deeper. Check the micro SD card side. The bare terminal contacts need to be on the right side for insertion or push the micro SD deep enough until the deck can clasp it.
The reverse view image is not stable. The reverse view signal is interfered with by another signal. Add filtering circuit (diode: 1N5822 Capacitor; 25V 3300uf) to reverse camera wire. The positive unit wire lead connects to the 1N5822 diode, which then connects to the positive camera wire. The 25V 3300uf capacitor is connected in parallel, with its positive side to the camera wire and its negative side to the Negative line.
USB Dash cam is not working. Use of wrong USB jack, or no storage card, or hot swapping, or use of other brand dash cam rather than ATOTO’s. Use ATOTO suggested USB jack, or find a storage card and try again, or exit DVR app and try again, or buy ATOTO dash cam and try again.
Steering wheel control is not working. The connection of steering wheel wire is not connected or improperly connected. / The original car steering wheel control is working by CANBUS agreement and not supporting universal analog steering wheel, or the third-party steering wheel interface is incorrectly connected, or the programmed content is lost. Possible connection methods: Key plus GND or Key+ plus GND or Key plus Key+ plus GND (The vehicle has two keys) or combine Key Key+ plus GND (The vehicle has one key). / Report your car make, model year or the brand of the third-party steering wheel interface to ATOTO support team, or reprogram the steering wheel in the default setting of system setting.
It pops up security warnings or credentials when browsing a website. The system date and time is not correct. Set the correct date & time and try again after 20 minutes.
APK can’t be installed. The unknown sources and APP permission is not enabled in security setting. Enable the unknown sources and APP permission in security setting.
WiFi data can’t be streamed. WiFi is switched off. Switch on WiFi in system setup.
3G dongle cannot stream data. The 3G dongle is not compatible, or the data plan is expired. Buy ATOTO suggested 3G dongles, or offer the dongle model to ATOTO support team to check or to renew the data plan.
The speakers produce static. The car comes with an amplifier. The speaker wire voltage of the power harness is ±6V and if the amplifier wire voltage is lower, it needs a line out converter to bridge them, both a low-quality converter or no converter may produce static sound. Find a line out converter, or change to a better quality line out converter.
The car ACC and B+ wire can’t be found. Some old vehicles didn’t label it. Use multi-meter to measure it, or search the car stereo information on google, Or turn to ATOTO support for help.
The frequency of the radio changes while playing a station. The AF function is switched on, which keeps searching for stronger frequency for the same station. Switch off AF function.
