The ADVANTECH DVA-1000 is a fast and flexible hardware key designed for use with the Advantech Digital video platform product. It protects a customer’s Application Programming Interface (API) from unexpected copying. Using an RS-232 cable, users can write passwords into corresponding cards or modules. It allows users to choose two series of numbers for hardware or software keys, and a built-in arithmetic formula automatically generates a checksum to provide a private key for all users.

3. The program will automatically detect existence signal inputs from the COM Port and display the information in the status block.

4. Select the corresponding COM Port of the control PC (options include COM1, COM2, COM3, and COM4).

5. Enter your specific Hardware Key into the field and press Write to input the key into the Advantech module or card.

6. Enter your Software Key and press Get CHECKSUM to automatically generate a Checksum.


What are the formatting rules for keys and checksums on the ADVANTECH DVA-1000?

Hardware Key and Software Key: The device provides 8 bytes in hexadecimal format. Each single byte can have a value from 0 to 255. Individual bytes must be separated by a dash (-). These dashes are mandatory and must not be omitted.

Checksum: The checksum is an 8-byte number in hexadecimal format that is generated automatically based on the user’s provided hardware and software keys.
