CAUTION:

• DRYER(S) SHOULD NEVER BE LEFT UNATTENDED WHILE IN OPERATION.

IMPORTANT:

• Please observe all safety precautions displayed on the equipment and/or specified in the installation/operators manual included with the dryer.

• Dryer(s) must not be installed or stored in an area where it will be exposed to water and/or weather.

• The wiring diagram for the dryer is located in the front electrical control box area.

1. When turning on power or when no cycle is in progress, the L.E.D. displays will read “FILL” and/or “Amount toStart.”

2. Insert coin(s). Once the correct “Amount to Start” has been inserted, the display will read “PUSH – tEnP”.

3. Select the temperature by pushing “HI-TEMP,” “LO-TEMP,” or “PERM-PRESS.” The basket (tumbler) will start to rotate, and the L.E.D. display will read the temperature cycle selected and the drying time.

4. The basket (tumbler) will continue to rotate through the drying and cooling cycles, showing time counting downward.

NOTE: If the door is opened during a cycle, both the heat and motor will stop. However, the DMC computer will continue to count down in time. Continuation of the cycle will resume only after the door has been closed and any one of the three (3) temperature selection buttons is again depressed.

5. Upon completion of drying and cooling cycles, the buzzer (tone) will sound, and the L.E.D. display will read “donE” for five (5) seconds, at which time the basket (tumbler) will shut off.

NOTE: If the Anti-Wrinkle program is active, the L.E.D. display will continue reading “donE”, and the DMC computer will proceed through the Anti-Wrinkle program until the maximum Guard On Time has expired or until the door is opened, whichever comes first. The L.E.D. display will read “FILL” and/or “Amount to Start.”

NOTE: If the door is opened during a cycle, both the heat and motor will stop. However, the DMC computer will continue to count upwards in time. Continuation of the cycle will resume only after the door has been closed and any one of the three (3) temperature selection buttons is again depressed.

4. Once the preprogrammed dryness level and cool down period have been reached or maximum automatic time has expired, whichever comes first, the buzzer (tone) will sound, and the L.E.D. display will read “donE” for five (5) seconds, at which time the basket (tumbler) will shut off.

2. Select temperature. The basket (tumbler) will start rotating, the L.E.D. display will read the temperature cycle selected, and the drying time portion of the L.E.D. display will read the value of “Adrt” (maximum time for automatic dry), counting downward as time elapses when in the timed mode and upward when in the automatic mode.

NOTE: If the door is opened during a cycle, both the heat and motor will stop. However, the Dual Microprocessor Controller (DMC) computer will continue to count upwards in time. Continuation of the cycle will resume only after the door has been closed, and one of the three (3) temperature selection buttons is again depressed.

3. Once the preprogrammed dryness level and cool down period has been reached or maximum automatic time has expired, whichever comes first, the buzzer (tone) will sound, and the L.E.D. display will read “donE” for five (5) seconds, at which time the basket (tumbler) will shut off.

To change programs or to put the Dual Microprocessor Controller (DMC) computer in the temperature or coin count display modes, the Program Switch (PS) located on the back side of the DMC computer must be put into the closed position (PSC). The following steps explain how to enter the program locations, assuming the power is on, the dryer is idling, and no drying cycle is in progress:

OBSERVATIONS: Once in program mode, program locations can be indexed upward with the aid of the “HI-TEMP” key and downward with the aid of the “LO-TEMP” key.

NOTE: Holding the “HI-TEMP” or “LO-TEMP” keys down continuously will automatically strobe/scroll through ALL the program locations available.

The temperature display mode displays the temperature inside each basket (tumbler). This diagnostic feature can be very helpful when servicing the dryers. To activate it, the power must be on, but the dryer can be idling or running.

If dryer is idling (not running):

If baskets were running:

OBSERVATIONS: Both baskets (tumblers) will continue their respective cycles until the end without any change.

The coin count feature displays the total number of coins sensed by the coin switch. You can access and clear the counts for both the right and left coin slots.

To view the RIGHT COIN COUNT (rCC):

To clear the RIGHT COIN COUNT (CrCC):

To view and clear the LEFT COIN COUNT (LCC): The procedure is the same as for the right coin count, but you will press the LO-TEMP button instead of the HI-TEMP button to access the count.

NOTE: Open the Program Switch (PS) to exit from the display mode.

Program Location 01 (PL01) contains most of the system parameters which control the operation of both baskets. To access and change these settings, follow these steps:

1. Close the Program Switch (PS). The display will show the temperature.

2. Press PERM-PRESS. The top display will show PL01.

3. Press PERM-PRESS repeatedly to cycle through the available parameters. The bottom display will show the current setting for each parameter.

To change a setting, use the LO-TEMP or HI-TEMP key to toggle between the available options for that parameter. For example, to change the temperature scale from Fahrenheit (°FAr) to Celsius (°CEL), navigate to the Temperature Scale parameter and press LO-TEMP. The bottom display will change to °CEL.

When you are finished, open the PS switch to return to operational mode.

You can program the High (PL03), Low (PL05), and Permanent Press (PL07) drying temperatures. The process is similar for all three. This example shows how to set the High Temperature (PL03).

Once you press PERM-PRESS, the new temperature set point is entered into memory. In the programming mode, the PERM-PRESS key functions as the “ENTER” key.

You can program the cool down settings for High (PL04), Low (PL06), and Permanent Press (PL08) temperatures. Each location contains two registers: one for the cool down temperature (e.g., HI-COOL-tEnp) and one for the cool down time (e.g., HI-COOL-tInE). This example shows how to set the High Cool Down (PL04).

Access the setting by navigating to PL04 and pressing PERM-PRESS. The display will show HI-COOL-tEnp and the current temperature set-point.

To change the temperature and time:

When you press PERM-PRESS after setting the temperature (Step 4), the new temperature is saved and the computer automatically steps to the next register (cool-down time). When you press PERM-PRESS after setting the time (Step 6), the new time is saved and the computer steps to the next program location (PL05).

You can set the value for the Left Coin (PL09) and Right Coin (PL10) acceptors. This is used for time vending calculations.

To program the Left Coin Denomination (PL09):

1. Enter programming mode and use HI-TEMP to navigate to PL09.

2. Press PERM-PRESS. The top display will show LCdE and the bottom will show the present value (e.g., 25).

3. Use the HI-TEMP and LO-TEMP keys to increment or decrement the value. Holding the key will change the value at a higher rate of speed.

4. Once the desired value is displayed, press PERM-PRESS to save it and move to the next Program Location (PL10).

5. Open the PS switch to exit programming mode.

The procedure is the same for the Right Coin Denomination (PL10), accessed by navigating to PL10.

You program these values in Program Locations 11 (tPLC) and 12 (AtSt).

To set the Time Per Left Coin (PL11):

1. Enter programming mode and navigate to PL11.

2. Press PERM-PRESS. The display will show tPLC and the current time value (e.g., 10 minutes).

3. Use HI-TEMP and LO-TEMP to change the time value.

4. Press PERM-PRESS to save the new value.

To set the Amount to Start (PL12):

1. Enter programming mode and navigate to PL12.

2. Press PERM-PRESS. The display will show ATST and the current amount (e.g., 25 cents).

3. Use HI-TEMP and LO-TEMP to change the amount.

4. Press PERM-PRESS to save the new value.

After saving, open the PS switch to exit programming mode.

Anti-Wrinkle timing is set in Program Location 15 (PL15) and Program Location 16 (PL16).

PL15 contains two settings:

• GdLY (Guard Delay Time): The stop time before the Anti-Wrinkle Guard On Time activates. Programmable from 1 to 9 minutes.
• Gont (Guard On Time): The amount of time the baskets will turn without heat. Programmable from 10 to 99 seconds.

PL16 contains one setting:

• AGt (Active Guard Time): The maximum total time that the Anti-Wrinkle cycle will be in progress. Programmable from 1 to 99 minutes.

To program these values:

1. Enter programming mode and navigate to PL15.

2. Press PERM-PRESS. The display shows GdLY and its current value.

3. Use HI/LO-TEMP to change the GdLY value, then press PERM-PRESS to save and move to Gont.

4. Use HI/LO-TEMP to change the Gont value, then press PERM-PRESS to save and move to PL16.

5. The display now shows AGt and its current value. Use HI/LO-TEMP to change it, then press PERM-PRESS to save.

6. Open the PS switch to exit.

The main settings for the Automatic cycle are the Maximum Time (PL14) and the Dryness Level (PL17).

PL14 – Adrt (Maximum Time for Auto Dry): This controls the maximum time the dryer will run even if the selected dryness level has not been reached. It is programmable from 1 to 99 minutes.

PL17 – PdrY (Dryness Level – Percent Dry): This sets the desired dryness level from 90% to 100% in 1% increments. The dryer shuts off when this level is reached or the maximum time (Adrt) has elapsed.

To program these settings:

1. Enter programming mode and navigate to PL14.

2. Press PERM-PRESS. The display shows Adrt and its current value.

3. Use HI/LO-TEMP to set the desired maximum time, then press PERM-PRESS to save.

4. Navigate to PL17.

5. Press PERM-PRESS. The display shows PdrY and its current value.

6. Use HI/LO-TEMP to set the desired dryness percentage, then press PERM-PRESS to save.

7. Open the PS switch to exit.

The “A” and “B” Factor register values pertain to the thermal characteristics of the dryer and are set at the factory for use in the Automatic Cycle Only. They contain the values that the automatic cycle (“AUTO”) program uses to calculate dryness through the cycle.

• “A” – Slope Program Factor: Adjustable from 1 to 9.
• “B” – Heat Loss [offset] Factor: Adjustable from 1 to 99.

NORMALLY, THESE VALUES SHOULD NOT BE CHANGED. If they must be changed, navigate to PL18 in programming mode and press PERM-PRESS to access the “A” factor. Adjust with HI/LO-TEMP and press PERM-PRESS to save and move to the “B” factor. Adjust and press PERM-PRESS to save.

The following are the factory preprogrammed parameters for a Single Coin Only configuration.

NOTE: PL02 is disabled. It is included for compatibility with existing microprocessors (computers) ONLY.

Dryers ordered from the factory with the 9 Volt Battery Back-Up Option (battery is not included) allows the Dual Microprocessor Controller (DMC) computer to maintain its operating status should a momentary power interruption occur while the dryer cycle is in progress.

It is suggested that the battery be replaced at least once a year or as found necessary. The battery life will depend on the age of the battery, the amount of power interruptions, and the back-up time used.

IMPORTANT: For proper operation use alkaline batteries ONLY. Suggest Eveready Energizer, Duracell, or equivalent. DO NOT USE CARBON TYPE BATTERIES.
